The South

The South are back on the road and do what they do best - perform the songs of that great British pop institution, The Beautiful South, to the thousands of fans of these timeless classics. The South are an impressive 9 piece band who feature former members of The Beautiful South including singer Alison Wheeler and lifelong sax player Gaz Birtles. Since Dave Hemingway, the original singer, left the group at the end of 2016, Gaz has moved across to front the band with Alison and taken on vocal duties. Now, in keeping with the 2 male singers of The Beautiful South, trumpet player Gareth John takes over some vocal duties on a few songs whilst Gaz goes back to his old job of being a Sax player! Since the demise of The Beautiful South in 2007, this exciting live band have spent 14 years touring the theatres and festivals of the UK up and down the country, bringing back the full sound and arrangements of these treasured songs - A Little Time (the number one single), Perfect 10, Rotterdam, Song For Whoever, Old Red Eyes Is Back, Good as Gold, Don't Marry Her plus many more singles and album tracks as well as a few choice South originals. These songs span an impressive 18 year career starting way back in 1989! Girls Only U18 Kicking Masterclass

Northampton Saints/Loughborugh Lightning Kicking Masterclass at Northampton Saints High Performance Centre @ cinch Stadium at Franklin's Gardens. This Masterclass is for girls in the U18 age group only. At Northampton Saints, we aim to nurture and encourage talent and through our Women’s Rugby Development programmes we: CHALLENGE women & girls to set lofty goals and build up their skills to achieve them. PROVIDE an enjoyable and unforgettable experience. HELP women & girls to develop skills on and off the pitch. IMPROVE critical skills, such as leadership, problem-solving, and teamwork. Northampton Saints/Loughborough Lightning’s specialised Kicking Clinic will use 121 coaching, game scenarios, challenges and support from Lightning senior squad players (subject to availability) to develop the players individual closed skills in grubber, punt, and place kicking whilst progressively adapting them to live open game scenarios. These Clinics are designed to develop the players techniques in a challenging but nurturing environment. Our Kicking Clinic are focused at girls in the U18 age group. Mums & Daughters Touch Rugby Session* * Each ticket includes entry for 1 adult + 1 junior to the Loughborough Lightning PWR game on the same day. Location: High Performance Centre, cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens Join us for an exciting touch rugby session designed for mums* and their daughters (U12–U16). All rugby abilities welcome. This is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy rugby together in a fun, welcoming environment before cheering on Loughborough Lightning in their PWR fixture at cinch Stadium. *Any female gaurdian (18+) The session will focus on fun non-contact games and activities while introducing the core principles of rugby—all in a safe and supportive setting. Clean boots are required for sessions in the High Performance Centre. Session Dates: Sunday 21st December, 12:30-13:30.
