Event Information

Kitchener-based rock band Feral Minks began as a solo project in the throes of the pandemic, initiated by lead singer and guitarist Kent Merriam. By early 2021, Merriam had released the debut EP Loam under the Feral Minks name, which quickly garnered attention from Jay Emmons of The Glorious Sons. This led to Emmons and his longtime collaborator Steve Kirstein taking the reins for the production of Feral Minks second EP. To complete their lineup, the band enlisted experienced rock musicians from the Kitchener scene: Algernon Friolet, Jay Hogle, and Ryan Whitney.Since the release of their debut self-titled EP in the fall of 2023, Feral Minks has been on an unstoppable trajectory. In 2024, they clinched HTZ FMs prestigious Rock Search title, joining the ranks of Canadian legends like Finger 11, The Trews, and The Glorious Sons. They have performed with City and Colour at the Tall Pines Music and Arts Festival and shared the stage with The Glorious Sons at the Key To Bala. This fall, Feral Minks will be releasing their highly anticipated sophomore EP, Young Desire, and embarking on their first headline tour, which will see them hitting 12 markets across Southeastern Ontario.

Event Information

Pkew Pkew Pkew are one the most criminally underrated bands in North America. Hailing from Toronto, this pop-punk band of party-loving delinquents have spent the better part of a decade relentlessly touring Canada, the US and Europe with bands like PUP, Reel Big Fish, The Flatliners and a bunch more. Their song Mid 20s Skateboarder was featured in the 2020 reboot of Tony Hawks Pro Skater 1+2. Theyve appeared on Late Night With Seth Meyers and performed at Riot Fest. Theyve released a slew critically acclaimed albums and EPs on kickass labels like Side One Dummy, Dine Alone and Royal Mountain.and the list of accolades just keeps going. Basically theyre just rad af and you should be listening to them right now. Were a gang of friends who turned hanging out into hanging out and writing songs. Mike Warne (vox/bass) While their last album (Open Bar - Dine Alone 2022) was all about avoiding the Pandemic completely, their upcoming full-length Siiick Days is all about dealing with it. Recently restructured with the addition of Kate MacLean (Ryan left to go live in the mountains but remains a best bud), the band has crafted an incredibly thoughtful, cohesive, introspective and hilariously joyful album. Most of the songs were written in solitary moments walking to the grocery store, riding the subway or hanging out in the Farside bathroom. The opening track The Dumbest Thing I Ever Done is about Mike having to sell his Playstation after a particularly rough covid-plagued 2020 European tour, which sucked because the world was about to go into lockdown and no video games = no fun. The rest of the songs, since nothing was happening in the world, came from a place where I was forced to remember important events rather than live and write about them in the moment. Trooper is about getting dumped and not handling it well. Goodnights is about the shitty parts of the bar scene, which I missed like crazy at the time. Read Receipts is about those tough conversations and not wanting to deal with communication at all. John Buck was kind of kicking around for a long time. I hope it doesnt make people sad, its actually a pretty happy song for me. And Hot Tub is about hanging out on tour with my best friends Mike Warne Siiick Days was recorded over ten days in Asbury Park by the awesome Pete Steinkopf from The Bouncing Souls. Petes a really cool dude (ask anyone) and has worked with The Menzingers, Dave Haus, The Love Ones, Crazy & The Brains and a bunch more, so you know the album sounds absolutely killer. With a worrisome amount of touring booked, a buttload of insane videos ready to go and a wicked album full of bangers in the pipe, Pkew3 are poised to go from criminally underrated to totally overrated with any luck. I should also say, this is our best album. We all love it more than anything. It was nothing but joy to work on. May all your days be siiick. Mike W
