SPIKE (Quireboys) Solo Acoustic show with Chris Chris Heilmann

Spike is the founder and front man of the Quireboys - one of the UK’s most enduring rock 'n' roll bands. A band that's been through different chapters and had different line-ups, but Spike is the constant throughout. Song writer, singer and leader of a band with which he has now become synonymous. With lifelong friend Guy Bailey, Spike penned the benchmark Quireboys songs - such as Hey You, I Don't Love You Any More and 7 O'Clock - tracks which have defined the band musically for decades and, to this day, remain the hallmark songs of any Quireboys show. Spike has also had a succession of critically acclaimed solo records and treasured collaborations. Music is Spike’s lifeblood. Always has been and always will be. With the Quireboys inactive as a live act due to the pandemic, Spike booked some low-key acoustic shows to tour his Late Night Song Book album. He was one of the first acts, if not the first act back with live music as lockdown eased in the summer of 2021. It was the perfect setting to encourage people back to grassroots venues - low key, socially-distanced shows, evenings of music and storytelling. These intimate shows have continued to prove very popular and remain one of Spike’s favourite performance showpieces. Even though the newly re-formed Quireboys continue to sell out larger venues he is very much at home with his acoustic guitar, accompanied by Chris Heilmann. Another side project Spike & The Geordie Rogues is still in development and the debut video ‘Drink is the Ruination of Man’ has already become a fans firm favourite. Spike also provided guest vocals on the Soho Dukes single “A Stone’s Throw” which was voted Single of the Week by Classic Rock. No doubt the forthcoming festive season will see the re-release “Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year”. 2026 will be another busy year year for Spike that will see him playing across Europe and the USA but you know that he will be back in the UK performing his unique ‘solo’ shows to the fans old and new so it's a priviledge to have another solo show at Dreadnoughtrock. Outside The Original is an exciting project from James Finnigan of Hue and Cry and Stiltskin fame. They are a prog rock show performing the music of ELP, early Genesis, Yes, King Crimson Pink Floyd and Jethro Tull. We aim to perform these classics with authenticity and flair, to keep this music Live for future audiences. Having played coast to coast in Scotland and North East England, Outside the Original has firmly established themselves, as the only must see prog rock show in the UK. Outside the Original perform an exciting 2 hour show, don’t miss this journey through the sounds that defined a generation! From ‘Musical Box’ by Genesis on the album Foxtrot to ’Yours is no Disgrace’ by Yes-opening track on the first album of the classic line-up to many more in between. Outside the Original are the only Scottish progressive rock tribute show that you can hear perform this eclectic mix of songs. The band has been formed by James Finnigan who grew up listening to these epic masterpieces. Like many musicians in the 80s James featured in very successful pop and rock bands; first with pop band Hue and Cry, then moving on as one of the founder members of rock band Stiltskin. This musical journey has lead James back to his roots. Outside the Original are a six piece band who faithfully reproduce the timeless masterpieces from the giants of progressive rock, performing a selection of classics by: Emerson Lake and Palmer, Genesis, King Crimson, Yes and Pink Floyd – among others. It's 5 members are all seasoned musicians with many years experience behind them and some of the lads are no strangers to oor stage. The Bones arose from the ashes of acoustic band Fat G and the Shady Acre Dogs. The band has undergone several line-up changes before finding its feet with the current members. The vision was for the Bones to cover both classic and contemporary rock whilst not being afraid to explore tangents within a rock framework.
