He rocks your socks off with crazy guitar riffs, makes you cry expressing touching lyrics, and constantly surprises you with the depth of his musical knowledge! Known in Chicago as THE Beatles guy, Phil consistently draws diverse audiences to Beatle shows; first when playing with the Beatle Brothers, now with the Phil Angotti Band, Great Moments in Vinyl, the What4, and as a solo performer. Phil plays the Beatles catalog by heart and from the heart. The years of practice, listening and learning are evident, especially since he is great at taking requests! The Kinks, The Zombies, The Bee-Gees, Nick Drake and Buddy Holly all hold special places in his musical mind too. Phil is the current lead singer and guitar player for Material Issue, a Chicago power-pop band who made it big in the early 90s (they had videos on MTV when that was cool). Now known as Material ReIssue, opening for The Smithereens is one of his favorite moments on stage in fact! Other great moments in Phil include opening for Marshall Crenshaw, Richard Furay (Buffalo Springfield), and Eddie Money, plus the Beatles album shows. The *ahem* experience of this guy is key. His music came out first on vinyl, then cassette, 8-track, cds, then back to vinyl. Through all 14 solo albums Phils melodys shine, blending cool pop grooves with sweet harmonies. An artist who is equally informed by his classical training, love of Jazz, and childhood playing rock music (primarily with his father John Carpender), Henrys playing and writing is a charming blend of punchy, sensitive, quirky, and dripping with love for life and self expression. Henrys dedication to music making began at age 13 when he played his first gig with the much beloved local band Expo 76. Since then, through both his education and the beginning of his professional freelance career, Henry has been fortunate enough to share the stage with Dag Juhlin, Billy Harper, Robbie Fulks, Tanya Darby, Cathy Richardson, NRBQ and the Canadian Brass. Henry has also enjoyed a healthy start to a career as a private instructor and group music educator, running a small studio of dedicated middle and high schoolers across the Chicagoland area. When hes not playing or teaching, he can be found playing video games, cooking a new dish, or relaxing on Montrose beach.This show will be an opportunity to premiere new work, revisit some favorites, and share arrangements of some of Henrys favorite artists. In 2018, Michot founded Nouveau Electric Records, promoting experimental and traditional around Louisiana French. In early 2020 Louis was named Louisianian of the Year in 2020 along with his brother Andre. Louis began incorporating solar technology into his music operations in 2020, with a solar powered studio and a mobile solar music stage dubbed the Solar Roller This work also bled into doing hurricane relief work as noted in Rolling Stone (Can This Cajun-Punk Musician Protect His Culture From Climate Change?, September 16, 2021) while raising funds to procure solar generators and panels for residents of Terrebonne Parish affected by Hurricane Ida, as written about in New Yorker magazine (The Lost Bayou Ramblers Get Lit, January 3, 2022).
