A new way to experience music—through presence, feeling, and deep listening. FULL WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION Music Mindfulness is a therapeutic, embodied approach to learning and experiencing music—one that begins not with performance or perfection, but with presence. In this 3-hour immersive, in-person workshop, you’ll explore guitar and ukulele as tools for awareness, emotional regulation, and creative expression. Rather than focusing on songs or technique alone, we’ll slow down and learn how to feel music in the body, listen deeply, and reconnect with the part of you that already knows how to make music. This workshop is designed to help you: Calm and regulate your nervous system Develop deeper attention and listening Reconnect with joy, flow, and creativity Experience music as something you participate in, not perform We’ll work with simple music meditations, gentle guidance, and shared exploration. Curiosity and an open mind ABOUT THE FACILITATOR Josh Brill is a musician, former educator at Berklee College of Music, and the founder of Music Mindfulness—a method that integrates music, presence, nervous system regulation, and inner awareness. With over 33 years of teaching experience, Josh has worked with beginners, professionals, and lifelong music lovers who thought music wasn’t “for them.” His work reframes music as a birthright, not a talent—and invites people to experience music as a path to connection, healing, and personal transformation.

*prerequiste to workshop -> Sri Meditation Initiation (formerly known as VM) *prerequiste to Deep Rest Retreat AN ADVANCING TECHNIQUE | Deep Rest Sequence | INTEGRATIVE PRACTICE The Deep Rest Sequence is a powerful technique designed to deepen your meditative experience. Through a rhythmic progression of asana (postures), pranayama (breathwork), seated meditation, and final reclined rest, this practice creates a harmonized experience that quiets the system, purifies stress, and opens the inner channels for profound rest. This is the foundational technique used during our Reset Deep Meditation Retreats, Sri Initiator Training and serves as a portal into deeper states of awareness, healing, and renewal. What is the Deep Rest Sequence The Deep Rest Sequence is a time-honored practice rooted in the ancient wisdom of the Vedas, designed to systematically purify the body and calm the mind at the most subtle levels. This gentle yet potent sequence integrates simple yoga postures, balancing breathwork (pranayama), effortless meditation, and restorative reclined rest. While deeply accessible, the sequence works profoundly—allowing accumulated stress and fatigue to be released from the nervous system, restoring inner harmony, clarity, and vitality. The simplicity of the process belies its power: engaging in The Deep Rest Sequence can create effects equivalent to months of regular meditation. The practice is adaptable to all bodies, with modifications available for any physical limitations, making it an elegant, foundational ritual for continued transformation. What to expect This immersive workshop offers both understanding and direct experience of The Deep Rest Sequence—a transformative technique that prepares the body and mind for deeper states of meditation and self-restoration. We’ll begin with a foundational teaching on the science and subtle power of this practice—exploring how movement, breath, and rest come together to dissolve stress and awaken a more integrated state of being. You’ll learn to approach asana not as physical exertion, but as a preparation for transcendence—anchoring the body in stillness and the mind in presence. From there, we’ll break down each element of the sequence—gentle postures, breath techniques, mantra-based meditation, and reclined integration—so you feel confident and attuned to the rhythm of the practice. After a short pause, you’ll be guided through a full Deep Rest Sequence, allowing you to experience firsthand the nourishment, clarity, and deep calm it unlocks. Whether you're new or experienced, this workshop will meet you where you are and open the door to a more refined and rejuvenating inner experience. Worshop Details To support your experience, begin your day with a grounding, nourishing breakfast—something light and warm, like oatmeal, is ideal to keep the body comfortable throughout the practice. A selection of fresh fruit and herbal tea will be provided as an afternoon refreshment. If you have any allergies or dietary sensitivities, please let us know in advance so we can accommodate you with care. We invite you to create a restful inner and outer atmosphere by bringing any items that enhance your comfort—such as a meditation cushion, back jack, or bolster. During the workshop, we will gently move through asanas, explore conscious breathwork, enter deep meditation, and rest fully in a reclined position. This is an opportunity to soften, settle, and reconnect with your inner presence through the profound rhythm of the Deep Rest Sequence. We look forward to sharing this sacred space with you.
