Saturday, September 6Unwound: 30 Years of The Future Of What LIVE at Grog ShopWsg Harriet The Spy and Deep EssenceDoors 7 PM | Show 8 PMAll Ages$32.50 advance / $37.50 day of show+ $3 at the door if under 21Born in 1991 in the Pacific Northwest as the Riot Grrrl and grunge musico-social movements took hold of underground pop culture, Unwound leveled their small corner of the 90s punk scene with a scathing futuristic barrage of noise. One of the flagship bands of the Kill Rock Stars label, the band also released material on iconic labels such as Gravity, Troubleman Unlimited, and Matador over their initial 10 year run. A notoriously relentless touring act, Unwound temporarily ended their endless adventure on April 1st 2002 after a tumultuous year of societal and personal breakdowns and breakups. In 2012, Unwound began an aggressive reissue campaign with The Numero Group, introducing the bands extensive catalog to a new generation of listeners. While the new attention on the band inspired the members to consider a reunion, it never happened- however the idea didnt disappear altogether. Still, after the devastating death of bass player Vern Rumsey in 2020 and as the world halted under the Covid pandemic, everything Unwound came to a stop. The passage of time and Verns absence only made the idea of circling back stronger. In April of 2022, almost 20 years to the day of their last show, Unwound held its first official practice with a new line up that included Jared Warren (KARP, Melvins, and Big Business) on bass and Scott Seckington (Nocturnal Habits, Two Ton Boa, and Old Haunts) on second guitar.Starting in January of 2023 the new iteration of Unwound burst out of the garage and played a number of sold out shows across the U.S. and an amazing run at the Primavera festival in Spain and Portugal. The crowds were a mix of old fans nodding their heads in the back of the theater and a new generation of rockers pining for a real live noise band they had mostly experienced online. 2024 saw the band play their 1994 album New Plastic Ideas in its entirety and their first tour in Australia. Due to the success of these shows and the demand from the rest of the world, 2025 has Unwound continuing to tour in North America for the 30th anniversary of their highly acclaimed album The Future of What, and will finally be returning to Japan and Europe.

Sunday, September 7La Dispute LIVE at Grog Shop with Glitterer and TummyacheDoors 7 PM | Show 8 PM ALL AGES$30 advance / $35 day of show+ $3 at door if under 21Its been six years since La Dispute released their last album, Panorama. Since then, the Michigan post-hardcore bandmade up of Jordan Dreyer on vocals, Brad Vander Lugt on drums, Chad Morgan-Sterenberg and Corey Stroffolino on guitar, and Adam Vass on bassdealt with the stagnance of the pandemic, celebrated the ten-year anniversaries of Wildlife and Rooms Of The House, and began working on No One Was Driving The Car. The fifth studio LP is the first entirely produced by the group, and it came together in Grand Rapids and Detroit, the United Kingdom, Australia, and the Philippines: I think the change in environment was really helpful to breathing new life into the process each time we came back to it, Dreyer says.Partly inspired by the 2017 psychological thriller First Reformed, No One Was Driving The Car reckons with malaise in the shadow of the looming apocalypse, which has noticeably been worsened by the advancement of tech. The title comes from a quote from a police officer Dreyer read in a news article about a lethal self-driving Tesla crash, an absurd event which raises questions about the amount of control we have in our own lives. In fourteen dynamic tracks, the band grapples with the existential topic and the human need to find comfort and a sense of security in an existence where were often thrust into chaos without permission. Dreyer yells with a more primal sense and sings in a more refined way, and the guitars have a sharper edge than ever before. As much as I dont enjoy the creative process because its taxing and often not fun, I also think its the most fun that I ever have, Dreyer contemplates. Its the revelations you make, the breakthroughs. Its banging your head against a wall and suddenly something clicks in a way that feels almost divine, like it came from somewhere else.

One of 13 children, Sammy was born in Lorain, Ohio, to parents who were not musicians. Introduced to the timbales by an older brother, he joined the drum corps at Admiral King High School and began playing professionally at age 13. For the past decade, he has fronted his own band, Sammy DeLeon y Su Orquesta, opening for acts including El Gran Combo, Tito Rojas and Tony Vega. Sammy regularly mentors student percussionists in Latin rhythms and his band has become known as Sammy Salsa College. Cleveland loves Sammy for the joy he brings through his irresistible dance music. Jackie received a M.M. from Cleveland State University in classical piano performance, studying with Andrius Kuprevicius and Daniel Barber, but continued her lessons with Creque, and has been based in Cleveland ever since.Jackie performs regularly as a soloist, but has her own jazz trio, which includes bassist Peter Dominguez and drummer Ron Godale. Friday, September 12Loconti and Public Water Supply LIVE at Grog ShopDoors 7pm | Show 8PMAll Ages$20+$3 at door if under 21https://www.loconti.net/LoConti is a seven-piece rock/funk band from Cleveland, Ohio. Their sound blends alternative rock with elements of funk, jazz, and soulbuilt on tight rhythms, layered guitars, saxophone, and melodic vocals. The band began as a group of self-taught friends in their early twenties, playing bar gigs and house parties while learning each others musical language. In 2023, they released their debut album Cherry Red, recorded in a Cleveland home studio. That same year, they were named Best New Artist by the Cleveland Music Awards, followed by Best Band in 2024 from Cleveland Scene. They released their second album Reflections in 2024 and began touring regionally, exploring deeper grooves and heavier drum and bass-driven textures.Everything came to a halt on February 28th, when drummer Michael LoConti tragically passed away in a car accident during the recording of their third album. The loss was devastating to the band and to their community, leaving them unable to carry on.After months of healing, the band found clarity in the music itself. With renewed purpose, theyve chosen to continuechanneling their love, grief, and energy into their next chapter. Their upcoming show at the Grog Shop marks their comeback.LoConti now features Billy Carrick on drums, alongside Henry LoConti (guitar/vocals), Eric Sconyers (saxophone/synth), Erin Donovan (vocals/percussion), Trevor Carmichael (guitar), Jonah Benchek (keys/organ), and Leo Traum (bass). The band continues to create music in honor of Michael, and in deep appreciation for the community that helped them find their footing again. Their third albumstill in the workspromises a raw, funk-forward evolution of their sound. This group has become more than just a band its grown into an expression of spirit and life.

Saturday, September 13 Hunx and His Punx LIVE at Grog Shop!with Tchotchke and Xanny StarsDoors 7:30 PM | Show 8:30 PMALL AGES$20 advance / $25 day of show+ $3 at the door if under 21Hunx and His Punx are a California band featuring Seth Bogart, Shannon Shaw and Erin Emslie. Since they got back together in 2019 it seemed like teenage dreams were coming true. First they played John Waters birthday party, then they toured with Bikini Kill, got to open for The B-52s at their favorite festival and started recording their first album since 2013. They never would have guessed that it would end up taking 5 years to complete. Or that they would soon be going through some very brutal times - a tragic death, a global pandemic and being impacted of one by one of Californias worst wildfires in history. On August 16, 2022, the same day their White Lipstick single was released on Sub Pop Records, Shannons fianc and close friend of the band Joe Haener was tragically killed in a car accident. Totally devastated, they stopped working on their album for over a year while Shannon grieved and made an album with Shannon and the Clams. Eventually they picked up again when Shannon moved down to LA to be closer to Seth and Erin. They were always close friends but were now bonded together for life. This led to writing some of the bands first songs about grief, Rainy Day in LA and Walk Out On This World.A couple years later while putting the final touches on the album and preparing to start shooting music videos, tragedy struck again. On January 7, 2025, the Eaton Fires erupted and destroyed the majority of Altadena, CA. About half of the new Hunx record was written in Seths basement which is now contaminated with ash and toxic smoke damage and most of the neighborhood destroyed. Grief and loss once again made finishing anything feel impossible, so they pushed back the release date by a few months.Which brings us to NOW. Now is finally the time, On August 22, 2025, Hunx and His Punx will officially release their first album in 12 years, Walk Out On This World. Its their first with Get Better Records, a label the band is excited to be working with due to their focus on queer and trans artists. Between 2010 and 2013, Hunx and His Punx released 3 albums - Gay Singles, Too Young To Be in Love and Street Punk, on Hardly Art and True Panther Sounds. They were celebrated and often associated with the queer core, punk and garage rock music worlds. From 2014-2019 they took a 5 year hiatus. Seth got really busy with visual art and recorded some solo albums. Shannon was equally as busy with her band Shannon & The Clams and releasing her first solo record. Now they have finally returned with their fourth album, Walk Out On This World. The end of the world is near and its filled with wild boys, rainy days, bad thoughts, death and grief, white lipstick, and doing acid alone in Hollywood. If its the end of the world, I want to have some fun. These definitely feel like end times. And no one knows better than this band, that for every tear you shed, you must laugh twice as hard and you will eventually be OK.

Sunday, September 14Baths w/ Marottes and angelgirl EVA LIVE at Grog Shop!Doors 7 PM | Show 8 PMAll Ages$18 advance / $20 day of show+ $3 at door if under 21Will Wiesenfeld has been recording original music for more than 15 years, most notably under the moniker Baths. Will has had albums, collaborations and remix work released on dozens of independent labels, and toured around the world. He maintains a philosophy of keeping his work as personal as possible, with the majority of his music created in his home studio. For his fourth full-length album Gut, Will embraces a new personal ethos of writing from the stomach versus writing from the heart. Im sketching my strongest and most pervasive feelings out quickly and treating their roughness as gospel, then exploring them in greater detail with the added sheen of time and perspective. The most impressive Baths album of Wiesenfelds career, Gut spans a breathtaking spectrum of lacerating hopelessness to lustful joy, inspired by the more unforgiving oeuvre of post-punk and noise music, and any music that works its magic through blunt force rather than careful introspection.https://bathsmusic.net/

Formed in 2004 by guitarist Jason Null and vocalist Jared Weeks, the band quickly found their signature sound-a mix of raw emotion, driving guitar riffs, and Southern swagger.Saving Abel exploded onto the national scene with their 2008 self-titled debut album, driven by the breakout single Addicted, which reached #2 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart and #20 on the Billboard Hot 100, earning multi-platinum status. The album also delivered other charting rock staples like 18 Days (#10 Mainstream Rock) and Drowning (Face Down) (#24 Mainstream Rock), cementing their reputation as a hit-making rock band.Their 2010 follow-up album Miss America featured the powerful single Stupid Girl (Only in Hollywood), which climbed to #7 on the Mainstream Rock chart, while the title track Miss America and The Sex Is Good continued to build on their radio success, the latter peaking at #1 on the Active Rock chart.Over the years, Saving Abel has toured relentlessly, sharing stages with rock heavyweights such as Nickelback, Papa Roach, Hinder, and Buckcherry. Their third studio album Bringing Down the Giant (2012) further showcased the bands dynamic range and commitment to raw, emotionally-charged rock. Now reunited with core members and reclaiming the grit and soul that made them fan favorites, Saving Abel is back with new energy, a renewed sense of purpose, and music that stays true to their Southern rock roots. With over a decade of success, multiple charting singles, and a die-hard fan base, Saving Abel remains a defining force in modern rock.
