Tosca - The Royal Opera (12A) 210min TBC | £16 + Booking fee| Sung in Italian with subtitles | In war-torn Rome, Floria Tosca and Mario Cavaradossi live for each other and their art. But when Cavaradossi helps an escaped prisoner, the lovers make a deadly enemy in the form of Baron Scarpia, Chief of Police. At the mercy of Scarpia’s twisted desires, Tosca is forced to make a horrific bargain: sleeping with the man she hates in order to save the man she loves. Can she find a way out? A star-studded cast includes soprano Anna Netrebko performing the role of Tosca, tenor Freddie De Tommaso as Cavaradossi, and bass-baritone Gerald Finley as Scarpia, with Music Director of The Royal Opera Jakub Hrůša conducting his first new production in the role. An alternative, modern-day Rome provides the backdrop for Oliver Mears’ unmissable, gripping new production of Puccini’s thriller. Puccini’s music plunges the audience straight into the action, and the pace doesn’t let up. Featuring the heroine’s sublime prayer to art, ‘Vissi d’arte’, and Cavaradossi’s lament, ‘E lucevan le stelle’, his poignant lament, Tosca is an icon of the opera repertoire. Puccini portrays the idealism of Tosca and her lover Cavaradossi through radiant, expansive music, including Act I’s duet ‘Qual’occhio al mondo’ (What eyes of this world) and Cavaradossi’s ardent aria ‘Recondita armonia’ (Hidden harmony). Scarpia’s music, by contrast, is dark and terrifying – from the demonic chords that open the opera to the violence of his Act II exchanges with Tosca. Sung in Italian Language with English Subtitles Cast: Floria Tosca ANNA NETREBKO Mario Cavaradossi FREDDIE DE TOMMASO Baron Scarpia GERALD FINLEY Spoletta CARLO BOSI Cesare Angelotti OSSIAN HUSKINSON Sacristan ALESSANDRO CORBELLI Sciarrone SIPHE KWANI Creatives: Music GIACOMO PUCCINI Conductor JAKUB HRŮŠA Director OLIVER MEARS Set Designer SIMON LIMA HOLDSWORTH Costume Designer ILONA KARAS Lighting Designer FABIANA PICCIOLI Movement Director ANNA MORRISSEY

Stage on Screen | 7pm | £16 + Booking fee | (15) Inter Alia is a searing new play from the team behind Prima Facie. Jessica Parks is smart, compassionate, and a true maverick at the top of her career as an eminent London Crown Court Judge. At work, she’s changing and challenging the system one case at a time. But behind the robe, Jessica is a karaoke fiend, a loving wife and a supportive parent. While managing the impossible juggling act faced by every working mother, an event threatens to throw her life completely off balance. Can she hold her family upright? Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl, Saltburn) makes her National Theatre debut as Jessica. Writer Suzie Miller and director Justin Martin reunite, following their global phenomenon, Prima Facie, with this searing examination of modern masculinity and motherhood. Rosamund Pike said, “My character has sons, and she’s a criminal judge – many defendants are young men. So it’s a story about navigating the raising of boys and whether we are letting them down. That’s a big debate right now.” In a statement, writer Suzie Miller explained, “Following the success of the National Theatre Live release of Prima Facie which has now been seen on the big screen by 1.4 million people—I’m thrilled to have Inter Alia broadcast to cinemas…I’ve witnessed firsthand how NTLive can not only reach but deeply connect with and impact audiences across the world, and I hope this play will do the same.”

Malt Room Standing Hello Cosmos are more than a band, they are a noisy, joyful collision of music, art, and collective energy. Born in Cumbria and based in Manchester they are powered by a core creative family — Ben Robinson (co-founder of Kendal Calling), Simon Robinson, Angela Chan (Placebo), Isaac Dobson (Vacant Weekend) and a rotating crew of sonic conspirators. They deliver genre defying alt-rock infused with post-punk grit, electronic chaos, and bold social commentary. Known for pushing boundaries both sonically and visually, Hello Cosmos have earned acclaim for their expansive debut Dream Harder, their remix project Hard Dirt, and relentless live shows that blur the line between gig and happening. Their new record Come Out Tonight is a rallying cry for the distracted and disconnected, a soundtrack for anyone ready to put down the phone, leave the house, and plug back into real life… sweat, mess, music and all. This is not just music. It’s an open invitation: keep digging, come out tonight. “People need to get on board with this.” – Jack Saunders, The Next Wave – BBC Radio 1“Propelled by self-belief, hope and a heavy groove. Guaranteed to knock your socks off.” 9/10 – Louder than War“Epic stuff, will be rising up the bills in years to come.” – Gordon Smart – Radio X Drivetime“A terrific album. Intense and thought-provoking throughout… its lyrics pack an almighty punch.” 8/10 – God is in the TV“Blowing the dust off the speakers of life.” – Chris Hawkins – BBC Radio 6 Music

Join Academy Award-winner, Jeremy Irons, as he takes the viewer on a your of one of the world’s most important museums: The Museo Egizio in Turin. The oldest collection dedicated to ancient Egyptian civilization houses over 40,000 artifacts —12,000 of which are on display — ranging from colossal statues to the rich burial objects of Kha and Merit and welcomes over 900,000 visitors a year. Key exhibits include Sphinxes, the Turin King List, the Goldmine Papyrus, and sculptures of Ramesses II and Isis of Coptos. Founded in 1824, the museum’s origins are linked to Piedmontese diplomat Bernardino Drovetti and excavation campaigns by Ernesto Schiaparelli and Giulio Farina. Its story is explored in The Immortals, tracing Egypt’s influence and featuring insights from museum leaders, international experts, and restorers. With over 90 global collaborations, the museum’s collections and legacy connect Turin to Egypt through history, science, and myth.

Tickets £15+booking fee | Doors 7.30pm | Malt Room Standing Dutch-New Zealand band MY BABY bring their infectious brand of blues, country, funk and soul-infused music to the Malt Room to mark the release of their new album ‘Echo’. “The past is a great darkness and filled with echoes.” With this quote the first new single ‘Ain’t No Turnin’ Back’ was released last February. And with these ‘echoes’, a link is immediately made to the new song and title track of their upcoming album ‘Echo’. In MY BABY’s ‘Echo’, the myth of Echo and Narcissus is retold—not rewritten, but finally heard from her perspective. The song conveys a world of shadows and reverberations, of words lost and returned, of a love that could never be reciprocated. MY BABY’s signature groove and ‘live feel’ are showcased here all the while channeling a studio sound of seventies soul.

Stage on Screen | £16 + booking fee | (12A) | 195min TBC | Following triumphant Met turns in Roméo et Juliette, La Traviata, and Lucia di Lammermoor, Nadine Sierra summits another peak of the soprano repertoire as Amina, who sleepwalks her way into audiences’ hearts in Bellini’s poignant tale of love lost and found. In his new production, Rolando Villazón – the tenor who has embarked on a brilliant second career as a director – retains the opera’s original setting in the Swiss Alps but uses its somnambulant plot to explore the emotional and psychological valleys of the mind. Tenor Xabier Anduaga returns after his acclaimed 2023 Met debut in L’Elisir d’Amore, co-starring as Amina’s fiancé Elvino, alongside soprano Sydney Mancasola as her rival, Lisa, and bass Alexander Vinogradov as Count Rodolfo. Riccardo Frizza takes the podium for one of opera’s most ravishing works. This operatic gem from one of the great masters of melody is a benchmark of extraordinary vocalism. The title role of the sleepwalking girl was composed for the greatest diva of the day, Giuditta Pasta (for whom Bellini also wrote the tragic role of Norma). The part requires a rare combination of innocence, charm, and breathtaking vocal virtuosity. Deeper than a comedy, but in no way a tragedy, La Sonnambula reaches its conclusion through genuine, poignant character development, rather than by intrigue or farce.
