  Join GoBoat Kingston for the Historic Kingston River Festival Flotilla Saturday 6th September 2025 This year, Kingston celebrates the 1100th anniversary of King Æthelstan’s coronation with an extraordinary River Cultures Festival – a once-in-a-lifetime day of heritage, pageantry, and river traditions. And you can be part of it from the best seat in the house – on the water, aboard your very own GoBoat. Your GoBoat Festival Experience 10:00 – Arrive at GoBoat Kingston for a warm welcome and a full safety and handling briefing.  10:30 – Cast off and navigate downriver to historic Ravens Ait, arriving by 11:00.  11:00 – 13:00 – Join the official Festival Flotilla, travelling in formation with an extraordinary procession of boats – from traditional craft in period costume to modern vessels representing Kingston’s vibrant cultural history. You’ll be part of the action as the flotilla salutes King Æthelstan in Canbury Gardens.  Return Voyage – After the flotilla, cruise back upriver to GoBoat Kingston, enjoying the festival atmosphere along the riverbanks.  Total duration: around 3 hours on the water.  About the Boats Each GoBoat can host up to 8 people, making it perfect for friends, family, or colleagues to enjoy the day together.  Our boats are electric powered for a peaceful, clean ride, and built using sustainable materials, making them kind to the river and the planet.  About the Festival The River Cultures Festival is a highlight of Kingston’s six-month celebration, featuring: A grand flotilla from Hampton Court Bridge to Canbury Gardens.  Historic re-enactments and costumes.  Music, entertainment, and traditional skills demonstrations along the riverside.  A finale illuminated boat parade at sunset (optional to watch from the bank).  Important Information You’ll receive full GoBoat training before departure.  Due to the nature of the flotilla, we strongly recommend having a skipper on board with prior boating experience to ensure safe and confident navigation in a busy waterway.  Limited spaces – boats available on a first-come, first-served basis.  📍 GoBoat Kingston Address: Riverside Walk, Off Kingston High Street, Kingston upon Thames, KT1 1QN Be part of Kingston’s living history – this celebration won’t happen again until 2125!
