Telling tales from their upbringing and continuing in the tradition of American storytellers like Bruce Springsteen and Brandon Flowers, The Wholesome Boys have crafted a sound for their debut album that feels both contemporary and timeless. Set to propulsive backbeats and echoing guitars, The Wholesome Boys went from waiting tables in Nashville to piloting their van 12,000 miles, playing 70+ performances together and supporting artists like Morgan Wade, Muscadine Bloodline, and Clint Black.While on the road Andrew, Dylan, Frank and Nate began to write as a unit. Finding that their new collaborative material and sound was resonating with diverse audiences across the country, the Boys were determined to capture on record the shared urgency and energy from their live show. Teaming up with producer Ben Rice (Joan Osborne, The National) the Boys spent the wintery month of January 24 hunkered down in Brooklyn at Degraw Sound to unpack the material they had written on the road and distill their collective vision.The resulting self titled album is infused with gritty authenticity and packed with anthemic songs of hope and possibility. The first AND THIRD SINGLES, Desert Diamonds, AND tonight its just us were featured on Spotifys Fresh Finds Rock playlist and received radio play on WRLT Lightning 100, Nashvilles Independent Radio.

A popular American guitarist with respect for righteously pure retro sounds, Deke formed the midwestern hot-rod surf-punk band Untamed Youth at age 17 in his hometown of Columbia, Missouri. They released a total of eight full-length albums, toured in old hearses, and in 1991, Deke moved to Los Angeles and joined Dave Stuckey to form the Hillbilly Power act known as the Dave partnership that yielded two albums and a much-touted 2005 reunion at major rockabilly festivals. Embarking on a solo career in 1997, Deke formed his band Deke Dickerson and the Ecco-Fonics who released three albums for the High Tone label. Constant touring led to festival appearances in the US and Europe, and support slots for fans of Dekes like Cake, Mike Ness, and the Reverend Horton Heat (who has said: Deke Dickerson is the best rockabilly guitarist in the world!).Deke is also a respected writer and Americana music historian having written essays, articles and liner notes on influences of his such as Faron Young and Gene Vincent. He is well known for his regular column in Guitar Player magazine and recently authored two enormous essay projects for Bear Familys 2007 Merle Haggard box sets as well as liners for labels like Del-Fi, Sundazed, and othersDeke has run his own Ecco-Fonic record label and been involved in numerous musical projects including The Go Nuts, The Beatnik Bandits,The Sprague Brothers, and even singing for the normally instrumental combo Los Straitjackets. He has also brought in personal heroes to record with on his records including Hadda Brooks and the late greats, Earl Palmer and Claude Trenier.

Angry Zeta are an unlikely mix of punk, country and Hillbilly hoe-downs from the even more unlikely locale of Argentina! But rather than taking the usual mid-mannered, middle-class approach to folk or (eek!) world-music, these guys are intent on putting some genuine attitude and authenticity into their music, just the same way that The Pogues approached Irish music, or Kultur Shock approached Balkan culture. Its not done in an affected or pretentious way, its done with a real love and joy for the songs and their words (even if you shouldnt take them entirely seriously!) Like the Hickoids before them, this is music thats here to be enjoyed. JPs historic restoration carpentry has continued to be a baseline for his relationship to music; the yin to his yang, the Burt to his Ernie, the Dolly to his Porter. It was through this concurrent line of work that he met another twice-initialed singer with a penchant for old Americana music, obscure film, and overly elaborate ethnic meal preparations: one JD McPherson. The two became fast friends and would eventually, through many twists, turns, false starts, and biblically-proportionate plagues, enter a modest studio in Nashville to record Harris latest album JP Harris Is A Trash Fire.Over the course of nine months in 2023, they recorded a sometimes lush, sometimes sparse, and sometimes jarring country album of Harris originals, loudly and violently squelching any attempt to pigeon-hole a song into any subgenre of country music. Only albums by Lee Hazelwood and an obscure folk album Waylon Jennings made when his hair was still short were allowed to be mentioned in reference. Featuring the guest vocals of Erin Rae, The Watson Twins, Shovels & Rope, and producer JD McPherson himself, the record is equal parts satire, reflection, and apology to those that would listen.
