We are pleased to announce that the 2026 Gala will take place on March 7th, 2026, at the Westin, our wonderful venu sponsor. This year’s theme, The Art of Resilience, reflects the strength, courage, and creativity of our epilepsy community. About the 2026 Purple Day Gala, The Art of Resilience. Inspired by the art style called "Kintsugi” which is taking broken pottery or sculptures and fixing them with gold. It represents embracing the scars and transforming them into strength and beauty. It’s about recognizing imperfections as something not to hide. It’s a powerful metaphor for resilience and a perfect fit for the Epilepsy community. Each seizure is a reminder, like a mental scar that only we can feel, or the physical scars from injuries we sustain. Despite this, we are still living our lives, growing and embracing each new day, while creating acceptance of Epilepsy. We don't hide the fragility, or the cracks Epilepsy gives us, we embrace them, honour them and use them to show our Resilience and share it with those we meet along the way. This year’s Gala will introduce several exciting new elements to elevate the evening. Our signature event will once again bring together more than 300 leaders from the corporate, healthcare, volunteer, and philanthropic communities for an unforgettable night of connection and celebration. Guests will enjoy vibrant entertainment and a curated tasting journey of savory and sweet creations—each bite a miniature masterpiece crafted especially for our stylish soirée. Throughout the night, you’ll also have the opportunity to experience a private art show featuring works created by members of our epilepsy community. Each piece will be auctioned off at the end of the evening, with a portion of every sale going directly back to the artist. New this year, guests will be invited to take part in an interactive experience designed to bring our theme, The Art of Resilience, to life. This hands‑on element will allow attendees to contribute to a collective artistic piece that reflects the strength, creativity, and unity of our community. Entertainment will highlight incredible Maritimers who are living with epilepsy or connected to someone who is. We are thrilled to welcome performances by recording artist Quake Matthews, Maddy Frisby, and Champion Highland Dancer Bronwyn Juby, among others. We are truly excited about this year’s Gala and delighted to share that Element Special Events is returning as our décor sponsor. We are also thrilled to welcome back Golden Dog Productions as our event planner sponsor. and Encore as our Lights and Audio Sponsor. Together, they have crafted some extraordinary plans to showcase The Art of Resilience in ways you won’t soon forget.
