Event Information

Brudenell Presents... With support from - Spotlights 14+ (under 18s to be accompanied by an adult) Having made her debut live appearance at the prestigious Roadburn Festival in the Netherlands off the back of a self-titled EP, A.A. Williams has since toured across the globe with the likes of Cult of Luna, Explosions In The Sky, Russian Circles, Sleep Token and The Sisters of Mercy, as well as establishing herself as a headline artist - including a show at the iconic Queen Elizabeth Hall inside London's Southbank Centre.  Standout festival appearances have dovetailed with two album releases - 2020's 'Forever Blue' and 2022's 'As The Moon Rests', which both received widespread critical acclaim and put A.A. Williams firmly in the slipstream of the wave of female vocalists taking textured, epic and folk-rooted heavy music into new and progressive directions. A BBC session at the legendary Maida Vale Studios only bolstered Williams' credentials.  Not one to rest on her laurels, she has also released a selection of 'companion pieces' - a collaborative single with Japanese post-rock titans MONO ('Exit In Darkness'); a solo covers collection recorded during 2020's pandemic lockdown - 'Songs From Isolation' - that garnered praise from The Cure's Robert Smith and Smashing Pumpkins' Billy Corgan for her unique take on their original songs; and perhaps most impressively, 2021's 'arco' saw the multi-instrumentalist completely rework her debut EP from rock instrumentation to a string ensemble, utilising her classical training and arrangement skills to stunning effect.

Annie & The Caldwells

Mon, Feb 2 at 7:30 PM
Brudenell Social Club

Event Information

432 Presents... Annie Caldwells says, “My family is my band,” and so naturally the history of the band—and their music—dovetails with the family’s real life. ANNIE & THE CALDWELLS are a family that plays a powerful disco soul from West Point, Mississippi. When Annie was 16 years old, in Aberdeen, Mississippi, she played in a band with her brothers (they were called the Staples Jr. Singers, a group of teenagers with a single album recorded in the 1970s). One day, the Staples Jrs. were singing on a church program in West Point, when a guitarist who played with one of Annie’s brothers in another band heard her and said, “Who — is that?” That moment Annie met Willie Joe Caldwell, Sr., her husband of the last fifty years, and the co-founder and guitarist for the Caldwells who supports his family’s high-flying vocals with fuzzy, psychedelic riffs.

Event Information

Brudenell Presents... With support from - The Brethren 14+ (under 18s to be accompanied by an adult) For over two decades, Midlake has quietly built a world of their own—rooted in the college-town charm of Denton, Texas, but expansive in sound and spirit. With their sixth studio album, A Bridge To Far, the band returns with a record that feels both deeply personal and universally resonant. It's an album about hope—not in some abstract sense, but as a human necessity. “Hope is a need,” says frontman Eric Pulido. “To look beyond, above what is. We can all relate on many varying levels.” Recorded at The Echo Lab in Denton and produced by Sam Evian, the sessions for A Bridge To Far were instinctive and unforced. “Everything felt effortless and authentic,” Pulido says. “We didn’t overthink things.” That ease translated into a sound both atmospheric and grounded—cinematic without excess, deeply felt without sentimentality. Lead single “The Ghouls,” written during a period of uncertainty about the band’s future, became a spark that encouraged the group to keep going. “It helped us build songs together again—and hopefully encourages others to want to hear the full collection." The album is rich with recurring themes of persistence, humility, and the quiet beauty in life’s overlooked details. Songs like “The Calling” explore surrendering to one’s true path, while “Days Gone By” juxtaposes personal struggle with the eternal rhythm of the natural world—sun, moon, sky—offering perspective and peace. “Eyes Full of Animal” channels a more visceral energy, tracing a moment of emotional misalignment, while “Guardians” unfolds like a mantra, honoring those who protect what is good and pure. “Guardians” also features a stirring verse exchange between Pulido and Grammy-nominated singer songwriter Madison Cunningham, whose contribution adds emotional weight and textural contrast. Additional guest vocals from Hannah Cohen and Meg Lui shimmer throughout the album, lending added warmth and nuance. Pulido names “Valley of Roseless Thorns” as a particularly emotional touchstone, reflecting the band's own truths in veiled poetic form. “There’s a tinge of reality in that one,” he admits. Musically, the band embraced spontaneity. Jesse Chandler and Sam Evian’s dueling saxophones on “The Calling” brought an unexpected burst of color— “like we went to Chicago World for a minute,” Pulido jokes. “Days Gone By” shifted notably from its original demo, trading its driving tempo for a more meditative, trance-like feel that sets the album’s tone from the outset. And while Midlake’s past records have often carried clear stylistic reference points, this one feels more distilled. “The reference and inspiration is Midlake,” Pulido says. “This album is less about sounding like someone else and more about sounding like us.” Even after all these years, the motivation remains rooted in connection. “We love one another,” says Pulido. “It’s still a chore to carve out time with all that’s going on in our lives, but when we’re able, it’s a cherished experience.” A Bridge To Far captures that spirit—a quiet triumph born from trust, time, and the belief that something just out of reach is still worth pursuing.

Ho99o9

Ho99o9

Event Information

Brudenell Presents... With support from - N8NOFACE Manifesting superhuman force through near-magic sonic alchemy, Ho99o9 consistently break free from any and all creative constraints. The duo—theOGM and Yeti Bones —co-mingle genres like chemicals, mixing gloriously hellish hip-hop, basement-born hardcore, future-facing punk, throat-slitting metal, jarring industrial, and off-kilter electronica into a concoction meant to combust the moment you press play or when they hit the stage. As such, the group has quietly haunted the darkest corners of the culture, peeking out with a series of unanimously acclaimed releases, A-list collaborations, and sold-out tours. In 2025, they make a statement with their third full-length album, Tomorrow We Escape, a 999 Deathkult / Last Gang Records/MNRK debut. “We knew these tunes were emotional, so everything fell into place with the title Tomorrow We Escape,” reveals Yeti Bones. “From there, it was like a flower bloomed. You could be escaping mental issues, problems with drugs, or bad situations. It’s up to the listener.” “When we started this process, we knew we wanted to make more relatable songs,” adds theOGM. “It was a healthy challenge to focus on emotion. In the past, a lot of our material was politically charged. That element is present to a degree, but we wanted to take a more personal route. This mindset drove how we wrote songs. Everybody has a struggle. The goal is to find motivation for preservation. The New Jersey-bred outfit made its way to Los Angeles over a decade ago. Surging and seething just below the surface, the pair broke through as an apocalyptically fascinating outlier with their 2017 full-length debut, United States of Horror—hailed by DIY as “incomparable to anything else being made right now.” In the meantime, their infamous live shows became the stuff of legend as they packed houses on their own and shared stages with everyone from Slipknot, Korn, Alice In Chains, Rob Zombie, Ministry, and The Dillinger Escape Plan to Lil Uzi Vert, Denzel Curry, Cypress Hill, and Ghostface Killah. Earning the respect of an elite cohort of peers, popular collaborations placed them toe-to-toe with Corey Taylor of Slipknot, The Prodigy, JPEGMAFIA, Ghostemane, HEALTH, 3TEETH, and N8NOFACE, to name a few. Jack Black made an appearance in their KULT CABLE series, while they guested on The Eric Andre Show. Beyond further acclaim from The New York Times, The Quietus, The FADER, Revolver, and more, The New York Times equated Ho99o9 as “An all-out barrage.” They stand out as the rare phenomenon that can decimate Hell Fest and captivate on A COLORS SHOW. theOGM and Yeti Bones carefully pieced together what would become Tomorrow We Escape. They built its framework in Los Angeles, as well as Paris, taking their time to perfect the vision. theOGM elaborates, “After our last tour, we came back to some of the early ideas we had recorded, and we revamped them. The concept came together, and we fleshed out newer songs. ” Yeti Bones continues. “We’re old-school music lovers who are used to listening to albums all the way through with no skips. That was our intent.” The duo introduces this next chapter with “Upside Down.” Produced by Yung Skrrt, frenetic keys crash into a neck-snapping beat. Warped guitars echo beneath woozy melodies as a danceable bassline drives the verses. It climaxes with an omen on the reverb-y refrain, “Spiral going down.” “Your life is spiraling down,” repeats Yeti Bones. “Everything is going each and every way, and you can’t control it. Heaven is down, Hell is up, and you’re in the middle. You don’t know the way to go, but you’ve got to find your own path.” theOGM elaborates, “You’re holding up a mirror to yourself and asking, ‘Who are you?’ This is me speaking to myself and questioning my character, failures, ups, and downs. Sometimes, you’ve got to check yourself.” Then, there’s “Incline.” Over a soundscape from Dave Sitek [TV on the Radio, Jane’s Addiction, Wale], Ho99o9 lock in with Yung Skrrt, The Nova Twins, and Pink Siifu. “We’re busting through the door on this one,” says Yeti Bones. Blade Runner-style synths pulsate on “Target Practice,” which Sam Matlock of Wargasm and Charlie Russell cooked up. Taking no prisoners, Ho99o9 body the production with grizzled and gritty flows, giving way to a screamed proclamation, “This ain’t metal. This ain’t trap. Give a fuck where you at. Give a fuck where you from. Bitch, I’m telling all the facts.” “It came out of frustration,” admits theOGM. “The industry tells you, ‘Make this hit. Stand here with this sign’. I’m unapologetically me, and ain’t nobody can tell me what to do. Nobody knows what a hit is. I set the tone..” “When theOGM spit the chorus, it was like, ‘Oh, that’s how we’re doing it’. He sparked the flame out of nowhere, and I knew I had to come correct,” laughs Yeti Bones. “Tapeworm” features vocals from Greg Puciatoo, former lead vocalist and lyricist for The Dillinger Escape Plan. Chelsea Wolfe lends her instantly recognizable vocals to the ghostly “Immortal.” Creaky clean guitar echoes behind a smoky haze as she steps out of a dream and sings, “You my life. You my love. My past my own.” “The first half is heartbreak,” notes theOGM. “These are the sides of us you don’t normally hear.” A ticking clock initially sets the tempo on the epic finale “Godflesh.” Reckless riffing and a double bass barrage speed up the punky crescendo topped off with the glitchy chant, “Born dead. God’s flesh.” It serves as an apotheosis in fire. “We end every show with a bang,” theOGM says. “‘Godflesh’ pays homage to some of our old work where we were constantly talking about what’s happening in our country and how we feel about people in charge—who we don’t fuck with. There is nothing you can do to destroy me. You might kill the physical me, but you can’t kill In the end, this is everything Ho99o9 was always meant to be, and it’s the ultimate escape. “As much as this record is for new audiences, it’s also for the ride-or-die fans who have rocked with us from the jump,” theOGM leaves off. “The message is, be present.” “We’re really showing everyone who we are personally,” concludes Yeti Bones. “We bleed the same blood.”
