Rising star Caitlin is a force to be reckoned with. She’s that rare artist whose assured sense of self translates perfectly in her alluring, irresistible sound – one that brings together her jazz background with contemporary soul, rock and pop. With the double whammy of heart-on-sleeve lyricism and skilled songcraft, she is fast asserting herself as one of the leaders of Britain’s ongoing soul renaissance. Her debut album, Why’s Everybody So Serious?, will have the world convinced that she is the real deal. Born Caitlin Van den Bogaerde, she proved to be a prodigious musician from a young age while growing up in the New Forest. She trained as a jazz vocalist, picking up the flute, guitar and piano along the way. By the age of 16, she was already performing to live audiences, later becoming a regular at some of the most renowned jazz clubs in London with the seven-piece group, Sol Collective. Early sessions have included Bruno Major (Lianne La Havas, MJ Cole), Steve Christanthou (Corinne Bailey Rae) and Jimmy Napes (Sam Smith). Now with a close-knit team of trusted collaborators around her, she has created an extraordinary opening statement that demonstrates the jaw-dropping breadth of her talents. Parviz’s self-titled debut album is slated for release in 2026: infused with psych, funk and classic sounds from the Persian world, it evokes the spirit of Iran’s 70’s music scene while adding a contemporary touch. At times buoyant, variegated and contemplative, it’s like an old taping of Iran’s beloved show Rangarang brought back to life. Flowing detuned synths and DIY aesthetics give it this indie je-ne-sais-quoi; it’s candid, nostalgic, dreamy and fierce, both rooted in Persian culture and distinctly modern. Lead single “Azadeh” — a female given name meaning “free-spirited” — pays homage to the “Woman Life Freedom” movement, with artwork by Rana Fadavi emphasising its urgency. Follow-up “Sappho’s Fragments” aired on BBC Radio 6 and has totalled more than 300k streams in its first 6 months after release. Parviz’s music aired on BBC Radio 1, Radio 6, FIP, and has been found on playlists from Facemelts, A1234 and many more. Parviz will be touring in the UK in February & March 2026 for his “Khorshid Khanoom” tour, and will be playing at Cluny 2 in Newcastle on 3 March. This event is 16 and over. Any ticket holder unable to present valid identification indicating that they are at least 16 years of age will not be admitted to this event, and will not be eligible for a refund.

We are celebrating International Women's Day in Cluny 2 with a show that when we read about it, we just had to host it. South West born, London based Volume One Tongue is a queer mystic, poet, musician, performance artist and human animal. Volume One Tongue’s debut Album ‘Landscapes of Trust’ was released last year and has since been shared across the UK in an immersive boundary pushing performance of the same name. The show is a hybrid of performance art and music and includes seismic recordings made audible, as well as Jeff Buckley/Vashti Bunyan style songs, extended live polyrhythmic and trip hop style drums, and fiddle. The work is inspired by and drawn from her homeland in the Forest of Dean, the wilds of Dartmoor and the West Coast of Scotland, and the man made Wilderness that is London. Isla created this body of work as a meditation on Silvia Federici’s ‘Caliban and the Witch’, seeking to explore the intersecting themes of Land Rights, seed scarcity, Women’s mental health and Belonging. This is a work for a generation engaged with the ongoing and unfolding poly crisis, and aims to inspire collective action and liberation. Isla’s singular vision continues to open up worlds of experimentation and expression, defying genres and expectation for the possibilities of transformational performance in 2026. No woman turned away due to lack of funds. If you would like to attend but are unable to pay email ross@thecluny.com

Known for his arresting, husky vocals and gritty, blues-infused pop/rock, Dan Owen is a British alternative singer/songwriter from Shropshire, England. Owen became interested in music at an early age, taking up guitar at nine years old and performing with his sister, who had taken up singing. Their Dad encouraged them to perform at open-mike events at local pubs throughout their teens. After his sister left for University, Owen took to performing solo and began appearing at live events at various pubs and clubs throughout the area surrounding Shropshire. Performing under the name “Bluesboy Dan”, he gradually earned a committed fan base with his passionate versions of songs by artists such as Robert Johnson and John Lee Hooker while also focusing on writing his own material. In 2012 an online video of the young guitarist performing Bob Dylan’s “The Ballad of Hollis Brown” began to generate widespread attention. After a couple more years of relentless performing in which he began to include his own songs, he was signed to Atlantic Records in 2015 and put out his debut EP, Bad for Me, later that year. In 2016 he put out his second EP, Open Hands & Enemies, before a European tour with Birdy as support act. He then spent 2017 writing and recording his debut full-length effort. The album — titled Stay Awake with Me — arrived in August 2018. Owen promoted the record with a U.K. and European tour that fall. Dan has toured UK and Europe with the likes of Kaleo, Alice Merton, Tall Heights, Seafret, 2 tours with Birdy, a full US tour with Blanco White, other supports from Manfred Man, Valarie Dune, Paul Jones, Brian Adams and our very own Wille and the Bandits. The second album from the Shrewsbury troubadour landed on Nov 24th. The Willow Tree is Dan Owen’s most honest and real music to date. It contains cuts from songwriter royalty – the late, great Scott English and incredible guitar playing from Canadian master Ariel Posen. Quote from Dan about the album: “This is the album I’ve always wanted to make. From every word sung, every note played and even the unplanned dog barking in the background of Call Out, they’re all moments I’ll always remember.” This event is 16 and over. Sam Lewis has collaborated with everyone from Leon Russell to The Wood Brothers. Chris Stapleton dubbed him “a modern Townes Van Zandt”. He’s often labeled with some form of the word ‘soulful’ (some have even compared his voice to molasses), Lewis’ style meets at a juncture of many different genres however he’s discovered what most musicians spend lifetimes working for; the place where feel-good music meets vital social commentary. After spending a nomadic youth throughout the Southeast (USA), he began calling Nashville home in 2009. Since then he’s been joined on his journey by some of music’s most righteous and luminary figures. He has pressed the first few chapters in his career’s studio anthology with the release of his self-titled debut (2012).
