(((folkYEAH!))) Presents Damien Jurado!Wednesday, October 1stDoors: 7pm / Show: 8pm$25 in advance / $30 day of the show21+*Tickets on sale Friday, July 11th at 10am PT**All sales are final - No refunds*Avoid scammers! Only purchase tickets from moesalley.com or ticketweb.com=====DAMIEN JURADOPlay on, theres no such thing as better days, Damien Jurado sings on Roger, the sweeping wash of a song that opens Reggae Film Star, his 18th full length album and second release from Jurados own Maraqopa Records label. But as he enters his 25th year as a recording artist, its clear these are, at the least, very good days for Jurado on the creative front. In these 12 songs, which evoke half-recalled dreams and overheard conversations, the cosmic rushes headlong into the autobiographical and specific moments on the clock fade from past to future to scenes set only in the eternal now.Playing out like a backlot documentary filmed on the location of an unnamed TV or film setmaybe a sitcom taping, or perhaps its a low budget science fiction B-movie, or could it be a talk show?the album is populated by performers awaiting call times, camera operators praying for their shot, and studio audiences rapt with anticipation. The stars here eschew glitz and glamor. Instead, they wander grocery stores and parking lots in the verdant Pacific Northwest and the desert Southwest, looking for payphones and a sense of purpose.

In 2022, the band came out with their lockdown project Rabbit. That third LP was a raw and progressive take on rock and roll that launched The Macks towards tours and festivals like Treefort in Idaho and MonkeyBee in Mexico City. Before taking a moment to breathe, the band released the Dajiban LP just months later. Self-produced in a Portland home shared by three band members, Dajiban drove the The Macks into more expansive, catchy, gnarly, and distinct territory. The Macks push all the boundaries with The Macks are a Knife. The LP released mid-2024 with Devil Duck Records. The band is comprised of brothers Josef and Ben Windheim, Sam Fulwiler, Jacob Michael Perris, and Aidan Harrison. The energy and dedication behind each member and the support of Devil Duck Records has The Macks firing on all cylinders with new material both live and back in the studio. Portlands Best New Band of 2022 continues to impress.

Moes Alley presents Colorados string band supergroup Big Richard! Thursday, October 16thDoors: 7pm / Doors: 8pm$15 in advance / $20 day of the show21+*All sales are final - no refunds*Avoid scammers! Only purchase tickets from moesalley.com or ticketweb.comBIG RICHARDSince exploding onto the Colorado scene in 2021, the four women of the supergroup Big Richard have been on a wild ride. Although they showed up to their first gig armed with homemade puff paint t-shirts, a load of crass jokes, and all dressed intentionally like Stevie Nicks, from the first few notes of their tight vocal harmonies, dazzling string virtuosity, and clever arrangements, no one had any choice but to take them seriously. Determined to be more than a one-night stand, Big Richard hit the road. They slapped as hard as possible on the festival circuit, worked up their stamina on nationwide headlining tours, and left a wake of die-hard Big Richard Heads across the country swooning for their honest songwriting, chilling vocals, and fiddle-driven barn-burners. Fueled by a steady diet of gas station snacks, Big Richard is currently touring their debut full-length studio album Girl Dinner, following a whirlwind year that included performances on PBS the Cavern Sessions, NPRs World Cafe, Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Delfest, Bourbon and Beyond, Jam Cruise, and New Years Eve at the Ryman in Nashville. They often refer to themselves as the gremlins of the bluegrass world, and the gremlins are: platinum recording artist Bonnie Sims, who rips the mandolin and smells like Snoop Doggs sock drawer; road dog Eve Panning, who toured extensively with the fiddle band Barrage and has trained her dog to murder on command; bassist Hazel Royer, plucked from the sidewalk in front of Berklee, can probably communicate with crows; and Dr. Joy Adams, who would just rather be skiing.

***Unfortunately, Carsie had to postpone this show at Moes Alley until next spring. As soon as we have a new date, we will announce it. In the mean time, all current ticketholders will be automatically refunded. Please see the statement from Carsies management below:After nearly a week unjustly held in Israeli prison for participating with over 400 others from around the world in the Global Sumud Flotilla to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza, Carsie has been released and is making her way home. The delay in Carsies return to the US means that we had to make the difficult decision to reschedule her October tour to early Spring 2026. We are working with each of the venues to confirm the new dates and will announce them just as soon as we have them, likely by the end of this week. =======Shes comin back and we cant wait! With a unique mix of humor, political wit, and fifteen-plus years on the road, Blanton has amassed a dedicated fan base and a small menagerie of viral hits (Rich People, Ugly Nasty Commie Bitch, Fishin With You). In 2024 she released two albums: After the Revolution (produced by Grammy-winner Tyler Chester) and The Red Album (an acoustic EP of protest songs).NATHAN EVANS FOXBorn and raised in western North Carolina, Nathan Evans Fox aspires to write songs that sound the way gas stations feel. When it comes to Nathans approach, Americana Highways writes, Its not cornpone, its not alt-country, country-western, or pop-country.
