Celebrated Japanese rock band TsuShiMaMiRe (つしまみれ) are set to make their long-awaited Australian debut, announcing their first-ever tour of Australia this February.

Known worldwide for their explosive live performances, razor-sharp musicianship and fearless genre-blending sound, TsuShiMaMiRe have spent more than two decades carving out a fiercely loyal cult following across Japan, North America and Europe. Their upcoming Australian tour marks a major milestone in the band’s international journey and answers years of demand from local fans eager to experience their electrifying shows firsthand.

Formed in Tokyo in 1999, TsuShiMaMiRe—Mari (guitar/vocals), Yayoi (bass/vocals) and Asami (drums/vocals)—are renowned for pairing raw punk and hard rock energy with playful, subversive songwriting and a powerful stage presence. Fiercely independent and proudly DIY, the trio self-manage their career and operate their own label, building their reputation through relentless touring and uncompromising creative control.

In Frankie Magazine, writer Emma Do described TsuShiMaMiRe as “a strangely harmonious chaos,” noting that their music balances intensity and humour, precision and unpredictability. In her feature ‘Never Stop Rocking’, Do writes that the band’s longevity is rooted in their refusal to follow expectations—musical or otherwise—choosing instead to reflect real life in all its messiness, joy and contradiction.

That ethos carries directly into their live performances. TsuShiMaMiRe’s shows are equal parts precision, chaos and connection—often physically demanding, frequently theatrical, and always unforgettable. Do highlighted the band’s legendary stamina, including their 20th-anniversary performance in 2019, when they played 175 songs across more than 20 consecutive hours, a feat that cemented their reputation as one of Japan’s most relentless live acts.

Yayoi says, “We are so excited to have tour in Australia! This is our first time to play in Australia. We want to make special moments with you in Australia! I want to see Uluru! I want to see koala! I want to swim in February! I want to have Aussie Beef!’

The Australian tour will feature a career-spanning setlist, drawing from fan favourites alongside newer material, delivered with the intensity and spirit that have made TsuShiMaMiRe one of Japan’s most compelling and enduring rock bands.

Joining them on the night will be Orange Paw whose melodic lo-fi pop songs will move your heart, and Plastic Section whose high energy rock will move your feet.
