Ron Sexsmith

Ron Sexsmith

Sun, Mar 1 at 7:00 PM
Hangar 34

Event Information

This is an 18+ event  Ron Sexsmith and his band made their last appearance in the UK in November 2024 with his acclaimed Sexsmith at Sixty tour before Ron extended his stay to record a new album at London’s Eastcote Studios with long-time collaborator Martin Terefe. That trip sparked a wave of inspiration, including the album's title, Hangover Terrace, which Ron describes as a metaphor for the emotional residue left by the pandemic years. “It speaks of this hangover I feel from the last few years of pandemic and life knocking us around,” he reflects. The album moves away from the rural contentment of his recent work and delves into something more wounded and introspective, shaped by personal loss, strained friendships, and a rawer worldview. Recording in London for the first time since 2007, Ron found creative freedom working with Terefe, whose spontaneous style helped reimagine songs daily. The sessions at Eastcote became a revolving door of musical talent—featuring past collaborators like Claes Bjorklund and Ed Harcourt, as well as surprise guests, including guitarist Robbie McIntosh and even producer Chris Kimsey. One of Ron’s favourite contributions came from Nora Joy Stephens, a young songwriter from his hometown of Stratford, who lent her voice to the album’s closing track. The songs explore themes both timely and timeless: the housing crisis in Camelot Towers, grief and gratitude in When Will the Morning Come, and spiritual musings in Angel on My Shoulder—a kind of counterpoint to his earlier Speaking With the Angel. Now 61, Ron continues to write with the same introspective honesty that’s marked his career, shaped by new perspectives and life’s ever-changing terrain. He still walks daily to untangle lyrical knots and often composes at whichever instrument is nearby. “I never worry about repeating myself,” he says. “The 31-year-old Ron couldn’t write these songs.” With 17 studio albums under his belt and songs covered by everyone from k.d. lang to Rod Stewart, Sexsmith remains one of Canada’s most cherished songwriters. His memories of childhood in St. Catharines continue to surface in his music, including new tracks like Cigarette & Cocktail and Burgoyne Woods. Reflecting on it all, he’d offer this to his younger self: “Don’t give up. Be patient. Stay focused on what’s real.”

Nottingham Forest Museum & Stadium Tour

Sun, Mar 1 at 1:00 PM
TBA

Event Information

Explore the home of the two-time European Cup champions by visiting The World Famous City Ground! If you wish to book Gift Vouchers for the Museum & Stadium Tour, please scroll down below to the "Gift Vouchers" section for more information. The Nottingham Forest Museum and Stadium Tour experience offers an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look into the City Ground - the home of one of the oldest clubs in English football. All culminating in a visit to our brand-new museum celebrating the rich history of Nottingham Forest Football Club. You'll be met by one of our expert tour guides at the Club Megastore before embarking in a 90-minute experience which starts in our brand-new Media Lounge facility. Here, you'll have the opportunity to sit in the same seat Sean Dyche sits in during Premier League press conferences. You'll then learn all there is about the history of Nottingham Forest Football Club as you hear tales from the expert tour guide whilst walking down the Boardroom Corridor. After taking photos of these celebrated moments, imagine the roar of the crowd as you view the pitch for the first time during the tour, from the best seat in the house... the Director's Box, which offers panoramic views of the entire ground. You'll then walk in the footsteps of both manager and footballer, entering the City Ground through the Player's Entrance before exploring the Away team changing room, a room that has been occupied by celebrated players both past and present. Immerse yourself in the managers matchday routine as you visit Sean's matchday office, the same place where he talks tactics with his first-team coaching staff. And then finally, visiting the Home team changing room as you have your photo taken in your favourite players seat. As the Stadium Tour ends, walk out of the tunnel and experience the world-famous City Ground the same way the likes of Morgan Gibbs-White, Ola Aina and Murillo do on a matchday. There's then your chance to take a photo pitchside or sitting in the home dugout. Lastly, you'll finish the Stadium Tour by visiting the brand new, state-of-the-art Nottingham Forest Museum, where you'll see the Club's most prized possessions including our European Cup trophies, an original green jumper belonging to Brian Clough, and a collection of match worn shirts from many our most iconic fixtures. The Museum allows you to experience the Club in a way like never before as you indulge yourself in a collection of the club’s relics that we have gathered through our formative years and as we conquered Europe. You'll also be able to see archive footage of our most famous moments and have your chance in picking our All-Time XI! Nottingham Forest Museum & Stadium Tour

Mon, Mar 2 at 11:00 AM

Tour includes: Guided tour with stadium expert Exclusive, behind-the-scenes access to The City Ground Pitchside access, including the dugouts Backroom access; home dressing room, players entrance and tunnel Photo opportunities Museum visit Nottingham Forest Stadium Tour Lanyard 10% discount voucher to be used in the Megastore on the day of your tour Contact details: Email: museum@nottinghamforest.co.uk Accessibility: accessibility@nottinghamforest.co.uk Phone: 0115 982 4388 More information: Museum & Stadium Tour home page: https://www.nottinghamforest.co.uk/museum/ Please see the above link for FAQs, directions, and more. Event Information

Rising star Caitlin is a force to be reckoned with. She’s that rare artist whose assured sense of self translates perfectly in her alluring, irresistible sound – one that brings together her jazz background with contemporary soul, rock and pop. With the double whammy of heart-on-sleeve lyricism and skilled songcraft, she is fast asserting herself as one of the leaders of Britain’s ongoing soul renaissance. Her debut album, Why’s Everybody So Serious?, will have the world convinced that she is the real deal.  Born Caitlin Van den Bogaerde, she proved to be a prodigious musician from a young age while growing up in the New Forest. She trained as a jazz vocalist, picking up the flute, guitar and piano along the way. By the age of 16, she was already performing to live audiences, later becoming a regular at some of the most renowned jazz clubs in London with the seven-piece group, Sol Collective. Early sessions have included Bruno Major (Lianne La Havas, MJ Cole), Steve Christanthou (Corinne Bailey Rae) and Jimmy Napes (Sam Smith). Now with a close-knit team of trusted collaborators around her, she has created an extraordinary opening statement that demonstrates the jaw-dropping breadth of her talents.

Kilimanjaro & Regular Music Presents... With support from - Zoe Graham Almost 50 years since he formed his punk/rock student band, The Dreamboys, iconic actor of stage and screen, Peter Capaldi, announces his first ever headline music tour, with eight dates across the UK, kicking off in Newcastle on 24 Feb 2026. Better known as the electric guitar playing incarnation of the twelfth Dr Who, and the ‘Thick Of It’ swearer in chief Malcolm Tucker, Capaldi picks up where he left off some fifty years ago when he was a new wave wannabe rock star in a Glasgow band. Next year he hits the road for his first-ever live music tour. The dark synths, fuzzy guitars and noirish romanticism of a young rocker trapped in the body of a beloved television veteran will be on show in select venues across the UK for two weeks only next year. Peter comments, “I was in a band at art school, fired up by the punk explosion, we went out into the world in search of rock stardom, and well… I became an actor. But I never lost my love for music. And in recent years have produced two albums of original songs, ‘St.Christopher’ (2021) and this year’s ‘Sweet Illusions’. Recording, with all the advantages of the digital age is one thing, playing live is another, but I wanted to see if I could go out after all of these years and play live in front of an audience. Well let’s see what happens. I’ve lucked out with my band, a group of wonderful young musicians who have bravely come on board for the ride.’

Following acclaimed runs in London and Edinburgh, the multi-award-winning star and creator of ITV’s Transaction hits the road with a guitar on her back, a bounty on her ballbag, and some very poorly written death threats in her DMs. When Jordan stripped off live on Channel 4 (and won a BAFTA in the process), bigots around the globe went ballistic. Luckily… so were her tits. Is the cost of success worth it? How do you live up to your own sky-high expectations? And most importantly, should you even be a comedian when your bum looks this good? Mermaid Chunky

Mermaid Chunky

Thu, Mar 5 at 7:30 PM
The Attic

Event Information

Brudenell Presents... With support from - Nylon Nyeshi “Stunning.” – Clash “A beautifully ritualistic trance.” - The Guardian “The most magical single of the year so far.” - KCRW’s Travis Holcombe Mermaid Chunky. It’s all in a name, sometimes. The danceable, costumed, curiosity rich duo of artists Freya Tate and Moina Moin are as imaginative as they profess. Or, to get more to the point, as we all need them to be. Freya and Moina are two visual artists and musicians from Stroud and South London, places where they importantly found communities (Stroud’s SVA and the capital’s Total Refreshment Centre) of like minded people just as willing to chase down an idea to its possibly illogical conclusion. And it is in the collective and the idea of participation that Mermaid Chunky really clicks. This is a party, a collective dance, made all the better with more: people, ideas, layers, kick drums, recorders, saxophones, frogs. To wit, the album’s first track and first single, “Céilí,” named after a traditional Scottish or Irish social gathering and dance, which builds from a simple recorder line into a swelling, warm burst of major chord dance music. Goosebumps or check your pulse. Further down the rabbit hole, “Chaperone” is almost boardwalk electro, like Fischerspooner on a ferris wheel; “Frogsporn” and “Nature Girl” are mucky, trippy dirges filled with stalactites of synth and squelch; “Tiny Gymnast” is a kaleidoscopic waltz into the night. Hold onto your seats, ladies and gentlemen. You might be wondering how we, DFA Records, all the way over in cynical Brooklyn, entered the picture. There was a day a few years ago, sun shining in full Springtime splendor, when James heard something while waiting for a coffee down the street from the office. It sounded simple yet deceptively complex: a dance track, but one where the one - that anchoring first beat in a measure - could be heard a thousand different ways. Frustrated and interested, he Shazamd the song, playing at the shop from an episode of Zakia’s Questing show on NTS, and brought it back to the office, where we all listened to it about fifty times. (The song was “Friends,” from Mermaid Chunky’s VEST EP, released in 2020. It led to an invitation to open for LCD at Brixton Academy in 2022. Mermaid Chunky has also played live alongside The Comet Is Coming, Alabaster Deplume, Snapped Ankles, and many others.) Thus began our search for Mermaid Chunky. A quest it has been and a quest it will always be.

Event Information

KEELEY, fronted by singer, guitarist, songwriter and enigmatic Dubliner Keeley Moss is a band brimming with songs showcasing the breadth of her songwriting. They bristle with lush harmonies, muscular beats and inventive atmospherics, weaving gleefully between indie-rock sub- genres and further establishing Keeley Moss as one of Ireland’s most creative songwriters. In her songwriting, Keeley Moss continues her ongoing fascination with the murder and short life of teenage German backpacker Inga Maria Hauser, who was brutally murdered in Northern Ireland in 1988 and whose case remains unsolved despite many promising leads pointing to the culprits. As an authority on the subject, she recently appeared in “Murder In The Badlands”, a moving BBC documentary that further explores Inga Maria’s tragic demise, and a brand-new film centred around Keeley’s involvement with the case is in development. The live band is currently a trio featuring Keeley Moss on guitar and vocals, Lukey Foxtrot on bass and former Morrissey drummer Andrew Paresi.  This event is 16 and over. Any ticket holder unable to present valid identification indicating that they are at least 16 years of age will not be admitted to this event, and will not be eligible for a refund.

Event Information

The Manchester, UK trio – vocalist Josh Taylor, drummer Jack Kennedy and guitarist Zack Breen - create from a place of undistilled, unadulterated intention. They write constantly, compelled to chase the ideas forming in their heads without deadlines hanging over them, just because they love it. Crucially, those songs all form the building blocks for their supercharged live shows, the environment where they feel like they blossom into their truest, best selves.  Their raucous genre mash-up of alternative rock, metalcore, and emo has seen them pick up support tours with Nothing More, Escape the Fate, and Ice Nine Kills over the last 18 months while dropping the singles ‘Trophy,’ ‘The System ‘ and ‘Stay’. They’ve built a formidable live reputation, leading to them supporting pop-punk giants Sum 41. They've exploded across the festival circuit; Download, Slam Dunk, 2000 Trees, Kendal Calling, TRNSMT, Tramlines, Truck, Boomtown Fair and an incredible main stage set at both Reading and Leeds Festival, along with heroics at Rock For People and Mighty Sounds festival (Czech Republic). They will also join As December Falls on a UK tour in October and November 2025, before heading on a 10-date co-headline November tour of Europe with Call Me Amour. THE HARA's dauntless new chapter is the most self-assured they've ever been. Despite the pressure, toxicity and self-doubt fired at them from all angles, they've used the pressure to create diamonds. Most importantly, through all of this, they've metamorphosed into the greatest version of themselves yet.  This event is 16 and over. Any ticket holder unable to present valid identification indicating that they are at least 16 years of age will not be admitted to this event, and will not be eligible for a refund.

Thu, Mar 5 at 7:30 PM
The Cluny

Event Information

Essex-born folk troubadour Beans on Toast has been charming audiences with his candid songwriting and engaging live performances for nearly two decades. Blending humour, politics, and storytelling, he has built a dedicated fanbase through constant touring, playing festivals across the globe and packing out venues big and small, whilst adding to a vast and varied discography that celebrates life and the human spirit with raw honesty, warmth, and wit.   His legendary live shows are unpredictable and full of heart, where the line between artist and audience disappears, and every gig, whether a heaving festival crowd or an intimate backroom gig, feels like a wild night with an old friend. Recorded at Greenmount Studios in Leeds with The Beans on Toast Band, the new album titled ‘Kill Them With Kindness’ is due for release December 1st via BOTMusic and features a collection of insanely talented musical friends hand-picked from the UK music and festival scene. “We've done a few tours together, but this was our first venture into a studio. Each one of them is amazing, and together... well, I'm proper chuffed with how it sounds,” Beans on Toast explains. "This album is a bit of a juxtaposition, as is the title. There are songs that deal with the current state of the world. Wars, maniac leaders, the rise of AI and the fall of the establishment. Then there are songs about trees, late nights in music venues, art, love and my new cat. As usual, it's a time stamp of my thoughts and feelings from the past year on planet Earth.” The first single from the album, titled ‘Glastonbury Oak’, will be released Oct 3rd. The new record is up there with his finest work to date, bouncing between songs about the shitshow of planet earth and the fall of the establishment, to family life, planting trees, and the absurdities of modern living. Expect songs, stories, chaos and community in equal measure.  This event is 16 and over. Any ticket holder unable to present valid identification indicating that they are at least 16 years of age will not be admitted to this event, and will not be eligible for a refund.

Sun, Mar 1 at 7:00 PM
The Crescent

Event Information

Get ready for an unforgettable experience as Justin returns with “The Greatest Performance of My Life”. After a successful and extensively extended tour of his 2022 show Stretch and Think (which you can catch in full on YouTube), he’s back on the road with this new show. The story covers subjects ranging from pantomimes to dreams, how to behave in hospitals, small talk, realising his Mum is a northern version of Columbo, and how being a smart-mouthed kid saved him from a life of continually being beaten up. Above all else, it’s the Justin you have to come to expect. It’s funny and interesting, and perhaps there’s a little bit that warms the soul, too. ★★★★ “What sets him apart is the craft. Lightning fast wit, masterful delivery.” Chortle ★★★★ “If joke-telling is your thing, then Justin Moorhouse is your man…very high gag rate” Fest ★★★★“Skilful crafting…he keeps the laughs coming” British Theatre Guide “He charms the pants off the crowd” Sunday Times “The amount of first-rate comic craft that goes into his routines is worthy of admiration” Guardian “Simultaneously down-to- earth and out of this world” The List

Caitlin

Mon, Mar 2 at 7:30 PM
Cluny 2

Band members/line up and instruments: Caitlin (Vocals) Martha B (Keys/BVs), Henry Thompson (Bass), Rufus Miller (Guitar/MD) Will Kitcat (Drums)  This event is 16 and over. Any ticket holder unable to present valid identification indicating that they are at least 16 years of age will not be admitted to this event, and will not be eligible for a refund.

Parviz

Parviz

Tue, Mar 3 at 7:30 PM
Cluny 2

Event Information

Parviz’s self-titled debut album is slated for release in 2026: infused with psych, funk and classic sounds from the Persian world, it evokes the spirit of Iran’s 70’s music scene while adding a contemporary touch. At times buoyant, variegated and contemplative, it’s like an old taping of Iran’s beloved show Rangarang brought back to life. Flowing detuned synths and DIY aesthetics give it this indie je-ne-sais-quoi; it’s candid, nostalgic, dreamy and fierce, both rooted in Persian culture and distinctly modern. Lead single “Azadeh” — a female given name meaning “free-spirited” — pays homage to the “Woman Life Freedom” movement, with artwork by Rana Fadavi emphasising its urgency. Follow-up “Sappho’s Fragments” aired on BBC Radio 6 and has totalled more than 300k streams in its first 6 months after release. Parviz’s music aired on BBC Radio 1, Radio 6, FIP, and has been found on playlists from Facemelts, A1234 and many more. Parviz will be touring in the UK in February & March 2026 for his “Khorshid Khanoom” tour, and will be playing at Cluny 2 in Newcastle on 3 March. This event is 16 and over. Any ticket holder unable to present valid identification indicating that they are at least 16 years of age will not be admitted to this event, and will not be eligible for a refund.

Maggie May Treanor & Steady Habits (acoustic) @ The Betsey Trotwood

Sun, Mar 1 at 4:00 PM
TBA

Event Information

Winner of the 2024 Twang Factor - Americana-UK.com Maggie May Treanor debuts at The Betsey Trotwood. This award-winning UK Americana artist brings an authentic approach to the genre. Raised on a working horse farm, she offers a truly authentic sound that weaves a line between the classic country vocals of Emmylou Harris and emotive storytelling of Jason Isbell. "Treanor held the knowledgeable clientele transfixed”. Americana-UK.com With her music generating over 200,000 YouTube streams, this Irish/English/Spanish artist is quickly catching the attention of the global Americana scene. Collaborating with top-tier producers and musicians – including 2 x Country No1 producer Dan Mizen and 4 x Grammy winning Chris Wilkinson, who brings a decade of experience from Jack White's iconic Third Man Records in Nashville – she's crafting a sound that's both familiar and refreshingly original. A gifted lyricist, Maggie May crafts songs that dive deep into heartbreak while celebrating the resilience of the human spirit. Her rich and captivating vocals effect healing and emotion in the audience as she uses her rare ability to turn vulnerability into anthems of survival. Steeped in the musical heritage of Irish folk and American Roots, her songwriting draws from a deep well of rural experience – as comfortable on horseback as she is on stage. Her English, Irish and Spanish roots infuse each song with a unique perspective, blending American musical traditions with the grit and authenticity of a classic folk storyteller. “Knockout!” Jericho Keys, BBC Introducing “Treanor possesses an emotive and powerful voice that instantly draws comparison to such luminaries as Linda Ronstadt, Christine McVie, and Christine Collister, while her finely crafted lyrics are both thoughtful and personal. From the first bars of her opening number, ‘Medicine’, to the closing song ‘Whiskey’, Treanor held the knowledgeable clientele transfixed”. Americana-UK.com “Your voice is amazing!”, The Playlist Sculptor “Her voice is powerful and brimming with emotion, with each lyric packing a punch”, Folk Rock Alchemist “Beautiful vocal tone”, Rock The Pigeon “OMG, your voice, your lyrics!” Black Cat Music Promotions “Your songwriting is truly special”, The Best Life Steady Habits - acoustic set The inimitable Sean Duggan of Steady Habits will perform an intimate acoustic set.   Hailing from New Haven, Connecticut, Sean was co singer-songwriter of Loud Mountains, the harmony-driven band he formed with his brother Kevin Michael Duggan in 2014. Steady Habits was created when Kevin set sail to Nashville, Tennessee in 2019. Sean will be performing his widely acclaimed original Alt-Americana songs full of outstanding lyricism, stoic sensibility and addictive hooks.  As sole songwriter for Steady Habits, Sean fronts this Oxford-based Alt-Country/Americana band that has drawn together some of Oxford’s finest musicians including members of The Dreaming Spires, Great Western Tears, The Greasy Slicks and Speed Buggy USA

M.A.D Society Presents: A Series of Unfortunate Events

Sun, Mar 1 at 2:00 PM
Patchwork Studios & Garrison Gallery

Event Information

A new play by the M.A.D. Society - the preposterous people who brought you Peter Panto and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It’s a Panto - or more accurately, a Panto’s late-father’s cousin’s wife’s brother’s ex girlfriend. There will be music. There will be intrigue. There will be dubious characters (and some kindly ones) flaunting many disguises. There will be death, singing orphans, a mysterious fire and also a circus.  If you are hoping to see a play about a plucky young chocolate enthusiast or a swashbuckling pirate, you’d be better off buying tickets to a different show. I’m sorry to say there is nothing to be found here but mystery, woe, and a gormless chap called Mr. Poe. This is not a series of heartwarming events - It is a Series of Unfortunate Events. My name is Lemony Snicket and it’s my very solemn duty to bring to light the sorry histories of the Baudelaire Children.  Show Times:  6:30 PM – Thurs–Saturday 2:00 PM – Sunday Matinee (Doors open 30 minutes prior) Run Time: Approx. 2.5–3 hours, inclusive of interval No entry before doors (6pm Thurs–Sat, 1:30pm Sun) All parking at the Canteen carpark please. Some strobing lights in use throughout performance. Beer, wine and soft drinks available at the Patchwork Bar before and after the show, and during the interval Email MadSocietyCornwall@gmail.com for accessibility needs, upon ticket purchase, to discuss special accommodations.

MATTHEW C. WHITAKER (HENGE) with SHUNYA / DOORS 7PM / START 7:30PM

Tue, Mar 3 at 7:30 PM
The Barrel House Ballroom

Event Information

Join Matthew C. Whitaker (HENGE) and Shunya for an evening of music celebrating the release of Whitaker’s second solo album, Songs for the Weary - a collection of graceful compositions incorporating classical guitar, rich string arrangements, and subtle electronics. Offering a serene listening experience, the album unfolds across eight gentle pieces woven with intricate harmonies and warm instrumentation. Co-produced and arranged in collaboration with Alan Keary (Shunya), the performance will also feature songs from Whitaker’s 2016 debut, The Man with the Anvil Hat, alongside a solo set by Shunya and special reworkings of select songs from the HENGE back catalogue. Matthew C. Whitaker Matthew C. Whitaker is a Manchester-based musician and composer best known for his work with cosmic prog-rave outfit HENGE, with whom he has released four acclaimed albums and toured extensively across the UK and Europe.  Alongside his high-energy work with the band, Whitaker pursues a more introspective solo practice. His debut, Man With the Anvil Hat (2016), introduced his flair for intricate harmony and richly textured soundscapes. His forthcoming release, Songs for the Weary (2026), continues this exploration with eight gentle pieces for classical guitar, lush string arrangements, and subtle electronics. Shunya Alan Keary is a multi-instrumentalist and producer, with a strong musical heritage, writing and producing music from the age of fourteen. Performing under the alias Shunya, his sound is a contortion of influences, stemming from his background in classical violin and jazz bass, and growing with the sounds of Manchester's electronic music scene.

ART RE-FRAMED. When the art world as you knew it went one way, we went the other. Where elitism is the norm, we dare to deviate. Art isn't confined to convention or rule, and how you enjoy it shouldn't be either. We've created something different, and we want you to experience it. We combine affordable and original artworks of over 175 independent artists with interactive installations, workshops, music, and a fully stocked bar. Here, art is for everyone. So why not do something impulsive, get excited, and revel in the creativity? You belong here. OPENING NIGHT. There are lots of advantages to being 'first.' Our opening night on Thursday, 5 March, gives the curious first access to our game-changing artists and 'first dibs' on their sought-after artworks. Plus, all Thursday tickets allow complimentary re-entry Friday, Saturday and Sunday. ALWAYS UNIQUE. We're obsessed with uncovering the best boundary-breaking emerging artists in the world. For this London edition, we're presenting our biggest fair yet: over 175 rule-bending independent artists from across the globe, guaranteed to inspire your senses. Expect more 'never normal' experiences. We've got a lineup at The Truman Brewery that even seasoned guests will be surprised and dazzled by. NEW EXPERIENCES.
