​Improv 401: Games and Openers This course continues the Harold work started in 301. Students will delve more deeply into 'The Harold' structure. They will learn a series of 'openers' and 'group games' that will complete the Harold format. Openers are used to derive inspiration from the audience's suggestion while group games are multi-person scenes that break up the traditional 2 person scenes. This is a 6 week course. Cost: $235 This class will be held from 6:30-9:00pm on Monday nights starting August 25th. Prerequisites: Improv 301 Meet the Instructor: Sean Devereux is an Emmy Award-winning writer, performer, and producer. He is a founding member of the Pushers Sketch and Improv Comedy Troupe as well as the co-founder and co-owner of the Push Comedy Theater. Sean studied improv at The Upright Citizens Brigade Theater (NYC) and with members of the Second City, Improv Olympic, and Annoyance Theaters. Devereux also trained with Kevin McDonald of the famed Kids in the Hall comedy group. Sean is a co-writer of Cuff Me: The 50 Shades of Gray Musical Parody which played Off-Broadway in New York City for nearly 3 years. He is also a producer on the upcoming film, How to Ruin the Holidays starring Colin Mochrie, Amber Nash, and Aisha Tyler. Sean teaches improv and sketch comedy at the Push Comedy Theater. At the Push he co-created the hit shows, Pushing Dragons: An Improvised Dungeons & Dragons Adventure, The 666 Project: A Horror Anthology, Tales from the Campfire: The Improvised Ghost Story, and Panties in a Twist (the largest all-female sketch comedy show in the country). Sean loves comic books, WWE, Doctor Who, and Dungeons and Dragons. He hopes to pass his nerdom on to his 12-year-old son… much to his wife’s chagrin.

SOUNDS MADE UP: Real Stories & Improvised Musical Comedy  With 100% REAL stories and 100% REAL made-up comedy and songs, Sounds Made Up is ready to get your weekend started sooner with some outrageous MUSICAL improv! A blend of Chicago and New York influences, Sounds Made Up is a musical improv show form called The Musical Armando, and features a special guest storyteller or monologist whose only rule is that they have to tell TRUE stories about their life! As clever as they are dashing, our brilliant cast will use those stories as inspiration to perform a musical improv show that’ll tickle your funny bone AND your ear drums! Donna Lewis is a stand-up comedian, sketch and improv performer based out of Hampton, Virginia. She performs at various clubs locally and regionally such as the Funnybone, Cozzy's Comedy Club and for corporate and private events. She's opened for comedy legend Marsha Warfield, Maria Bamford and Michael Ian Black. She's performed in LA, Atlanta, Boston and NYC at well-known comedy clubs. She’s been seen at comedy festivals across the US and Canada and also performs sketch and improv comedy with the group she founded in 2018 called Lemon Pepper and Sazón Comedy. Additionally she created Diversity efforts at the Push Comedy Theater which is her home improv and sketch theater in Norfolk, Virginia. She created the Push Diversity Council, Diversity Scholarship and produces monthly Diversity Jams which highlight underrepresented groups with shows such as: AAPI Month, Hispanic Heritage Month, Black History Month, 40+ Show, Veterans, Pride, Juneteenth,  Come hear some fantastic stories and see some hilarious musical improv that, for better or for worse, has never been seen before and will never be seen again!

This ain't your daddy's Improv cage match! If you think you've seen Improv competitions before then you ain't seen nothin yet! Improvageddon combines Improv Comedy with stylistic elements of Professional Wrestling to create a truly unique, and most definitely over-the-top Improv contest. Gimmicks will be displayed!  Trash will be talked!  Feats of comedic strength will be performed! Let the final war for comedic supremacy begin!
