Cut Worms (USA)

Tue, Jul 7 at 7:00 PM
Lansdowne Hotel

Event Information

Transmitter is Max Clarke’s fourth full length record as Cut Worms, due out March 13th via JagJaguwar. Produced by Jeff Tweedy at Wilco’s Loft studio, Transmitter marks a deepening of Clarke’s abilities and the convergence of two artists whose work searches for grace amid dislocation. Together, they conjure the ecstatic spirits of power pop and alt rock, expanding Cut Worms’ vintage palette while reaffirming his gift for timeless songwriting.

While Clarke’s voice and writing formed the framework, Tweedy’s guitar and bass lines sketched the rooms the songs inhabit. Tweedy’s presence as a producer revealed itself not in heavy-handed choices but in how he coloured spaces and continually offered new textures. Between them, their like-minded sensibilities bridged a generational gap to create something more nuanced than either might have made alone.

Now several albums into his career, Clarke stands fully in command of his craft, resonating at his own frequency. What began as a passion for bygone pop has matured into a study of endurance itself, confirming him as a singer-songwriter of lasting depth. Transmitter finds Clarke in full stride, writing with the conviction of someone who’s made peace with uncertainty. These songs reckon with the cost of comfort and return to the idea that beauty, connection, and love are not luxuries but necessities for survival.

Event Information

Heading down under for the first time in 14 years

Acclaimed singer/songwriter Ben Kweller is making his long-awaited return to Australia in 2026.

A pillar of the underground indie scene, Kweller will be performing much-loved songs from his discography, as well as tracks from his profoundly moving 2023 release Cover the Mirrors.

This will be the first time in 14 years Aussie fans will have the chance to experience Kweller’s tapestry of songs in live form, set to play gems from albums like Sha Sha (2002), On My Way (2004), Changing Horses (2009) and Go Fly A Kite (2012).

Kweller will also perform songs from his achingly raw 2023 record Cover The Mirrors, one of his most emotionallycharged albums to date with Flood Magazine calling it “touching and profound”. Written after the unimaginable loss of his 16-year old son Dorian, who passed away in a freak car accident, the 12-track album explores themes of grief and soulsearching and features guest performances by longtime friends and collaborators including Waxahatchee, MJ Lenderman, The Flaming Lips and Jason Schwartzman’s highly acclaimed mid-aughts musical project Coconut Records. Raised outside of Dallas, Texas, Ben Kweller first landed on the scene in the late-90s with his grunge band Radish. Cementing himself as one of the defining voices of early-2000s rock with his solo debut release Sha Sha, he further solidified his reputation as a gifted writer on albums On My Way (2004) and Changing Horses (2009) before earning a GRAMMY® nomination for 2012 release Go Fly A Kite.

Bringing his sincerity and songcraft to stages across the globe, Kweller has gone on to tour with world-class acts including Bright Eyes, Kings of Leon, Death Cab for Cutie, Bleachers, John Mayer, My Morning Jacket, The Strokes, and Ed Sheeran. Kweller’s influence remains today with Jack Antanoff stating “Ben Kweller is one of the great American songwriters.”

Event Information

US country star, Drake Milligan brings his Tumbleweed World Tour to Australia this July.

A student of classic Country music with the swagger of early Rock ‘n’ Roll, Drake Milligan is an electrifying entertainer who cites George Strait and Elvis Presley – the King of Country and the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll – as musical heroes, and his unique twist of traditional Country has been embraced by fans, peers, and major media including Billboard, PEOPLE, American Songwriter, USA Today, Access Hollywood, and more.

Last in Australia for CMC Rocks QLD in 2024, where he impressed crowds with his smooth baritone vocals and a sound that bridges modern and traditional country, Milligan returns in 2026 with his brand-new album Tumbleweed. The follow-up to his 2022 debut Dallas/Fort Worth - which reached No. 5 on Billboard’s Emerging Artists Chart -Tumbleweed marks a confident sophomore release that has already won over fans and critics alike.

Milligan first burst onto the national music stage with Dallas/Fort Worth, which topped both the iTunes Country and All-Genre charts and was later named one of Billboard’s Best Country Albums of 2022. The Texas native has since appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show, performed at the Grand Ole Opry, Stagecoach, and CMA Music Festival, and made history as the first artist to perform on an F1 racetrack during the inaugural F1 Grid Gigs in Austin, TX.

With more than 255 million streams worldwide, Milligan is entering his next chapter with the release of Tumbleweed, with the album’s title track already climbing into the UK Country Radio Top 10. Kicking off his global Tumbleweed World Tour across the US at the end of 2025, the singer-songwriter continues through Europe early this year, before making his highly anticipated Australian headline debut.

IMPORTANT EVENT INFORMATION: https://www.frontiertouring.com/page/terms-of-sale

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

TICKET DETAILS

Do not attend if you are feeling unwell.

Photo ID is essential, acceptable ID is a current and valid Australian Photo Drivers Licence, State Approved ‘Proof of Age’ card or Passport. The Oklahoma band hinges on the friendship between Christian Theriot and Cale Chronister, two musicians who met as kids and instinctively bonded. Finding mammoth viral success, they’ve released three acclaimed albums, each one distilling their indie pop elixir. With their new record, the band have gone back to their roots – self-produced, self-recorded, and self-titled, it’s the sound of people with an incredible bond, making the music that thrills them. Small town heroes who are taking on the world, Sports credit their Tulsa upbringing as fostering their mindset. A world apart from the bright lights of Los Angeles or New York, the band had to work hard to make their mark. “The odds of us meeting, having the same interests, forming a band, and making it out to have a career… it’s like, how did that happen?” Christian marvels. Sports struck gold first time out, with early single ‘You Are The Right One’ becoming a generational indie pop anthem. Nudging 180 million streams on Spotify alone, the track has become their hallmark, a fan favourite and also an economic support structure. Now complete, Sports’ new album is exceptional. Retaining the wicked hooks of their early work, it also fully embraces maturity, and creative independence. “It’s given us incredible belief in ourselves,” Christian says. “It’s like the last stage of adulthood, making a record by yourself.” Arriving 10 years on from their breakout moment, the Oklahoma group have found a way to be respectful to their past, while embracing the future. “It’s kind of surreal to have that number ten associated with the band,”Christian laughs. “It’s hard to think about the weight of it… it makes me feel old, I guess.” It all comes down to the core friendship between Christian and Cale, and the boundless possibilities they find within one another. “We’ve known each other since middle school,” Cale reflects. “And we’re still doing it. To me, we’re just getting started.”
