Cut through the noise surrounding AI’s impact on creativity with design and innovation expert and Professor Joshua Vermillion, in a provocative keynote presentation at the State Library of NSW that completely rethinks the future of design. Exclusive to Vivid Sydney, the American architect, designer and researcher will reframe the conversation away from a human-verses-AI struggle, outlining a vibrant future where machines aren’t tools, but true creative partners. Drawing on his academic research as well as his creative practice with intelligent technology for publications such as Architectural Digest and Harper’s BAZAAR, Vermillion will outline how emerging technologies are already reshaping the way we imagine, design and build our world. Expect a visually rich journey through the growing role of robotics, artificial intelligence and machine learning in architecture and design, as Vermillion explores contemporary experimental projects, speculative design research and real-world examples. From algorithmic design systems to robotic fabrication and AI-driven workflows, learn how designers can engage critically and creatively with intelligent technologies – and how these tools are opening new possibilities for innovation, ethics and expression. Challenging foundational ideas of artistry, craft and authorship, Vermillion’s sits at the cutting-edge of creativity, technology and innovation. With unique, vital insights that cross academia and artistry, Creative Machines is essential for designers, architects and all forward-thinkers. This event is presented in partnership with State Library of New South Wales.

Their debut album Star Scum City is a bold statement of queer self-expression, tracing a journey from suburban Australia to the dancefloors of Europe with confidence, tension, and release.

Since its release on February 27, 2026, Star Scum City has marked a breakthrough moment for the duo. Inspired by tabletop roleplaying games, and informed by First Nations lore and cultural ideology, this immersive, free adventure at the UTS Data Arena utilises 360 visuals and 3D sound to drop you right in the middle of the Game Master’s world. Created by Wonnarua writer-directors and sisters, Maddison and George Coles, deep community consultation, and led by an all First Nations team, Dungeons & Damper: Inside the D20 places groups of 10 to face the power of a Creation Spirit. With the impact of mining on Country and a lack of environmental care, the Spirits of Country have decided to teach a lesson. Showcasing the importance of traditional stories in the modern landscape, this journey recognises Indigenous culture as a continuous culture that weaves teachings through past, present, and future. Unmissable for lovers of tabletop role-playing games and fantasy nerds alike, this one-weekend-only event runs in sessions, with bookings free but essential. This free event features wheelchair access, a hearing loop, and Relaxed Screenings for attendees who may benefit from a modified sensory environment. If you are attending with a Companion Card, please book a ticket for your companion during registration, as capacity is limited. To help us support your experience, we recommend arriving early and letting our staff know about any access requirements when you arrive. Relaxed Screenings Relaxed Screenings are scheduled for this event at 11:45am, 2:15pm, 4:15pm, 6:15pm. A Relaxed Screening is a modified version of the screening, designed for audience members who may find traditional screenings overwhelming. The Relaxed Screenings have a relaxed attitude to noise and movement, there will be minor changes to sensory elements of the screening such as reducing bright lighting or loud noises and the venue doors remain open and the house lights remain on, but dimmed, throughout the screening.

Prawn Records, Six Boroughs Group, One Louder Entertainment and Select Music are proud to present: 'The Rock 'n' Roll Adventure Continues...' Australian Tour, 2026

The phrase was introduced to the band by one of their most beloved and now dearly departed tour managers.

Functioning like a motto or mantra on the road, it was a ramshackle statement that could be blurted out by anyone at any time. It was just as suitable to yell in the glow of post-show euphoria as it was to say in the quiet melancholy of a 4am lobby call. Partly sarcastic, partly serious, and definitely filled with the giggling resignation of seasoned road dogs; it's a humble catchphrase that perfectly embodies a musician's somewhat misguided devotion to being on the road.

This next chapter of The Rock 'n' Roll Adventure will be stacked with fan favourites, deep cuts and everything in between, culminating in a massive celebration of everything that encapsulates Ball Park Music and all the wonderful things that the band has achieved over their career that currently spans eight studio albums.

Expect an ever-changing journey through every era: the anthems, the slow burners and the deep cuts that have somehow grown into fan favourites. After an especially exhilarating year that sees the band visit everything from tin sheds to stadiums, from Albury to Amsterdam, and even clock the 600 show milestone, this will be the definitive Ball Park Music experience.

This tour brings the band back to some of their most beloved venues across the country in rooms where the walls still hum with the echoes of past tours, massive singalongs and the magic of nights that were over a little too soon. With their 9th studio album under their belt "Winter Storm", and celebrating their 30th anniversary, these shows will be huge. Get your drinking horns and Viking helmets ready.

ENSIFERUM finally return to Australia, with their last visit on the "Two Paths" world tour in 2019, having packed shows in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, this time in 2026 the band are adding Perth, Adelaide and Canberra to the mix, touring the new album "Winter Storm". The last time that Ensiferum left the studio with a new album, the world promptly shut down due to the covid pandemic. The Finnish folk - Metal Melodeath sensation maintained a prolific release schedule since their first demo in 1997, gradually increasing in stature until eighth album Thalassic crowned their ascent in 2020. That nautical opus went on to top Finland's album chart, reaching #3 in Germany, and top ten in Switzerland, Canada and the USA. Eventually Ensiferum would take Thalassic on two massive world tours and to festivals like Wacken, Hellfest, Summer Breeze and Ragnarök, but the global health hoo-hah ensured that the four year wait for Winter Storm is the longest in the band's near 30 year history.
Trts AUS 2026.

Tortoise is widely considered one of the most influential music groups of the last 40 years, with a wide-reaching impact on the contemporary music scene. Pitchfork says: “Imagine a graphic showing all the bands the five members of Tortoise were in before they came together and then all the bands they went on to play with after. At the top of the funnel you have groups ranging from dreamy psych-rock to earthy post-punk crunch, including Eleventh Dream Day, Bastro, Slint, and the Poster Children; on the 'post-Tortoise' end are groups focusing on electro-jazz and twangy instrumental rock like Isotope 217, Chicago Underground, and Brokeback. In this graphic, Tortoise is the choke point, the one project that has elements of all these sounds but is never defined by nor committed to any of them.

The band, which originally formed in Chicago in 1990, comprises Dan Bitney, John Herndon, Douglas McCombs, John McEntire, and Jeff Parker.

Initially hailed as pace-setters of an emergent, cinematic instrumental evolution of alternative rock, the Chicago Tribune called Tortoise’s sound “mood music that refuses to be shoved into the background, as inviting as it is challenging.” Releasing just seven albums since 1990 — including classics like 1996’s Millions Now Living Will NeverDie, 1998’s TNT, and 2001’s Standards —Tortoise has steadily and intuitively evolved across its life, creating genreless music that is as timeless as it is ahead of the curve.

The band’s legacy goes beyond its recorded output, as well. Per the New York Times: “While Tortoise's albums have

experimented with the editing and overdubbing possibilities of the studio, the band thrives performing in real time.” Rolling Stone deems Tortoise “a live marvel,” while Pitchfork further says the band’s performances reveal that “at heart, they’re a supremely fun band, wide open to all sorts of sonic possibilities.”

With their first visit to Australian shores in 10 years, Tortoise is set to wow audiences around the country with these select shows.

This is the credo that drives the restless creativity of multi-instrumentalist and producer Alfa Mist.

Since the release of his first full-length project Nocturne in 2015, Alfa has established himself as one of the UK’s most focused, in-demand and distinct musical voices. He has worked with the likes of Jordan Rakei and Tom Misch. Artists look to him for his unique blend of intimate bedroom production and expansive jazz group orchestration, since Alfa is yet to be boxed into a specific genre. His music spans everything from hip-hop beat-making to producing for artists such as rapper Loyle Carner, composing neo-classical works for the London Contemporary Orchestra, and reworking tracks from composer Ólafur Arnalds and pioneering jazz label Blue Note.

Continuing to evolve his creative vision, Alfa Mist released his latest album, Roulette, on 3rd October via his own label, Sekito Records. Roulette is a sci-fi concept album set in a dystopian near-future where reincarnation is a scientifically proven fact. Conceived, written and produced by Alfa, the record features New York rapper Homeboy Sandman, British soul star Tawiah, and vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Kaya Thomas-Dyke. This headline performance is a unique opportunity for fans to catch him playing material from his previous releases plus new songs from Roulette.

A classically trained musician who picked up the violin at age four, Khamari honed his sound with a deeply personal, self-taught approach that led to the acclaimed release of his debut EP Eldorado in 2020, followed by his major label debut A Brief Nirvana in 2023, which to date has earned over 130 million cumulative streams across standout tracks like “Doctor, My Eyes” and “These Four Walls.” His latest work, including the introspective single “Head in a Jar,” reflects his continued evolution as a storyteller and producer, drawing inspiration from icons like D’Angelo, Stevie Wonder, Jeff Buckley, Mazzy Star, and even director Christopher Nolan. Rooted in vulnerability and cinematic emotion, Khamari’s music captures the universal pursuit of connection and meaning, cementing his place as one of R&B’s most compelling new voices.

CONNECT WITH KHAMARI
Website | Facebook | Instagram | TikTok | X | YouTube | Spotify

DOORS: 7:30PM
SPACE: THE RECHABITE HALL

MASTERCARD PRESALE TICKETS
These tickets are available exclusively to Mastercard cardholders and can only be purchased using a Mastercard and by paying through the Mastercard network.
For more information visit: https://music.priceless.com/frequently-asked-questions

MASTERCARD PREFERRED TICKETS
These tickets are available exclusively to Mastercard cardholders and can only be purchased using a Mastercard and by paying through the Mastercard network.
For more priceless experiences: www.priceless.com/music

VENUE INFO
ALWAYS WAS, ALWAYS WILL BE. Lauded as “an early masterpiece of world music and a true work of artistic collaboration” (Mark Mordue), “Tabaran” continues to inspire audiences globally. “Malira”, released in September 2026, has received widespread critical acclaim and immediately sold out its initial pressings, and made an unexpected appearance on the charts. 2CHARMSTAR SCUM CITY TOUR 2026 2charm are a Melbourne-based duo originally from Brisbane, crafting high-impact electronic pop that merges club energy with emotionally direct songwriting. Their debut album Star Scum City is a bold statement of queer self-expression, tracing a journey from suburban Australia to the dancefloors of Europe with confidence, tension, and release. Since its release on February 27, 2026, Star Scum City has marked a breakthrough moment for the duo. Spotify named 2charm a Turn Up AUS spotlight artist at launch. Current single “invisible wings” sits at #59 on the Shazam chart and is in the Top 20 most played tracks on triple j, cementing national airplay and streaming momentum. Blending EDM precision with distorted pop melodrama, the album draws inspiration from the sleek maximalism of deadmau5, SOPHIE, Skrillex and Zedd, alongside collaborators Ninajirachi, 1tbsp, and Simon Lam. Tracks like “boyfriend” and “paris (to get you out my head)” explore intimacy and emotional tension, while club-driven cuts such as “invisible wings” and “barcelona” channel sweat, freedom, and queer ritual into widescreen dancefloor moments. Off the back of a sold out Australian album release weekend in Sydney and Melbourne, both selling out a month in advance, and a debut North American touring run alongside Ninajirachi and Hannah Diamond, 2charm now bring Star Scum City to the East Coast. This is not a discovery act. This is a breakout moment. TOUR DATES - Thu 28 May 2026 – Brisbane – Brightside - Fri 29 May 2026 – Melbourne – The Night Cat - Sat 30 May 2026 – Sydney – Oxford Art Factory New music out now.
