The Victoria Ska & Reggae Society is excited to present an autumn ska-punk party for the ages!Mad Caddies, The Corps, and Dead Rights at Wicket Hall Oct. 4, 2025!Tickets on sale Monday, June 9th at 10am! Formed in Santa Barbara, California, in 1995, the MAD CADDIES quickly emerged as a unique force in the regional music scene. Known for their energetic blend of ska and punk rock, they add unique touches of reggae and jazz to create a distinctive and catchy sound. The bands debut album, Quality Soft Core, released in 1997, marked the beginning of a series of successful albums, including fan favorites like Duck and Cover and Keep It Going. Over the years, the Mad Caddies have evolved, but their music always remains lively and engaging. Famous for their dynamic and party-like live performances, they have garnered a loyal fan base worldwide. With a new album under their belt, 2024s Arrows Room 117, and a fresh lineup, The Mad Caddies continue to be celebrated in the ska and punk music circles for for their unique sound and exhilarating shows. The Corps is a melodic skate punk band from Vancouver, Canada. Examining personal and societal issues through the lens of the DC comic book universe, the band has seen international success with their unique lyrical content. Told from the perspective of heroes and villains alike, each song contains a fantastical tale that encourages repeat listens and exploration into the featured themes. The Corps have had the honour of playing alongside many of their biggest influences including Propagandhi, Belvedere, Satanic Surfers, D.O.A., Chixdiggit, Gob, and The Dreadnoughts, to name but a few. Dead Rights emerged from the ashes of 2020, transforming chaos into creative energy by unleashing a powerful wave of unapologetic punk rock. Hailing from Vancouver Island, BC, Dead Rights music is heavily influenced by the 90s melodic punk and hardcore scene with a slight metal edge. Their music strikes a balance between a fun, party-like atmosphere and a platform for expressing deeper topics, fighting tyrants and the oppressors of this world, one track at a time. With a strong, intense punch in their sound, the production maintains an immediate and warm ambiance. Fans of NOFX, No Use For A Name, Dillinger Four, and Bad Religion will undoubtedly find a connection with Dead Rights.

Journey back in time at Ross Bay Villa Historic House Museum, a volunteer-run museum and restoration project located in Fairfield. On Saturdays at 2PM, walk down the path past heritage apple trees and beautiful gardens and step into one of only a few 1860s houses still standing in Victoria. From the bright and airy drawing room to the charming children’s bedroom, the house has been restored with extraordinary care to appear as it did when the Roscoe family called it home. Built in 1865, the Gothic Revival Ross Bay Villa was built for Victoria businessman Francis Roscoe and his wife, Anna Letitia Roscoe. Located far away from the bustling streets of the upstart gold rush town and a short distance from the beach at Ross Bay, the property offered a bucolic country idyll for the Roscoes’ and their growing family. Admission is $7.50 plus tax per person. Tours must be booked ahead of time. All funds support the volunteer-based Ross Bay Villa Society which owns and operates Ross Bay Villa. Drop in a little early for your Saturday tour for our Ross Bay Villa Gift Shop and Book Nook. This unique vintage store has handcrafted items made by volunteers, plus everything from clothing and books to fine china and unexpected treasures. Stop by between 10-2 and find something special! Please note, donations of smaller, gently used household items are gratefully accepted.
