Two Remain is a deeply moving contemporary opera built entirely from the real words and testimonies of Holocaust survivors. Based on interviews conducted with two Auschwitz survivors, the opera confronts memory, survival, and the lasting impact of trauma through music that is both haunting and humane. Rather than depicting events graphically, the work invites audiences into the inner lives of the survivors as they are compelled to remember, reflect, and bear witness to their past. Their stories unfold with dignity and emotional honesty, transforming personal testimony into a shared act of remembrance. At a time when Holocaust denial and distortion are increasingly prevalent, Two Remain affirms the urgency of listening to survivor voices while they are still here to be heard. This intimate production offers audiences a powerful, reflective experience that honors history, resilience, and the responsibility to remember.

Presented by Ic3y Mag · Hosted at Foil Gallery April 25–26-27, 2026 Sessions at 7 PM / 8:40 PM / 10:15 PM Limited spots · 6560 Waverly A space to disconnect, sit still, and truly listen. Listening Room is a monthly series presented by Ic3y Mag and held inside Foil Gallery’s immersive space. Each session invites you to experience a full album from beginning to end, together, without distraction. For this edition, we enter ATLiens. The record feels like a late-night transmission from another world: slow rides through empty streets, distant voices, deep basslines echoing like signals in space. The writing moves between street reality and outer space mythology, between youth and growing older, between Earth and somewhere far away. Soul, funk, dub and Southern hip-hop dissolve into a dark, atmospheric soundscape that feels suspended in time. It’s less a collection of tracks than a nocturnal journey you travel through from start to finish. Phones off. Eyes closed. Let the world narrow to sound. Please note that orders are not refundable. The session starts at the time shown on your ticket. Please arrive 15–20 minutes before the time on your ticket. No latecomers allowed once the session has started. If you can no longer attend, let us know so we can offer your spot to someone on the waiting list. We kindly ask guests to make their way out after their session, as the gallery is reserved exclusively for the listening experience and needs to welcome the next group.

Each year the theatre hosts international musicians, popular concerts and unique events; it is also home to the beloved Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. The 90 minute walking tours are led by the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame and reveal many secrets of the iconic theatre's history; including the time Frank Sinatra was almost kicked out of the theatre for breaking dressing room lights while practising his golf swing! Reservations are strongly encouraged as tours frequently fill up in advance. Walk-up patrons will be accepted at the door as space permits. If the cost of a reserved admission is a barrier to your participation, please contact vct.presents@vancouver.ca to explore options for support. As this tour takes place in an operating theatre, some sections of the building may be inaccessible. This program is presented in partnership with the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame and Downtown Van. *Please meet guides at the Granville Street entrance. *Please note that this tour includes walking and stair climbing. *Photography is permitted, though this tour is not suitable for photography groups or clubs. Facilitated by: Kale Cabrera (she/her) This opportunity invites early years’ professionals working directly with school-age children (3 years 8 months-12 years) to come together and reflect on their practice. Topics may include curriculum and programming ideas, communication, the environment, relationships, and so much more. Conversations emerging from this group will be ongoing. The success of a Community of Practice relies on shared reflection and the open exchange of ideas, experiences, and knowledge between members. Please come prepared to engage in meaningful conversation. Share any topic/conversation ideas you have in the designated areas during registration. Kaylee “Kale” Cabrera (she/her) is a passionate educator who has been working with children and non-profit organizations since 2016. Today, after working in a school-age program for four school years, Kale trains new educators joining the ranks of London Children's Connection before and after school programs and speaks with educators across the community about what it means to be, not only nurturing to a child, but nurturing to ourselves. Pedagogical Focuses: Belonging - Engagement - Networking Standards of Practice: Standard I: Caring and Responsive Relationships, Standard II: Curriculum and Pedagogy, Standard III: Safety, Health and Well-Being in the Learning Environment, Standard IV: Professionalism and Leadership, Standard V: Professional Boundaries, Dual Relationships and Conflicts of Interest, Standard VI: Confidentiality, Release of Information and Duty to Report Registration closes: Friday, April 24 at 12:00 PM *Ticket types are based on the county you WORK in. Facilitated by: Liz Gannon (she/they), RECE, Strive Resource Centre Specialist & Lena Haider (she/her), RECE, Strive Resource Centre Specialist Should food be used in sensory activities? This session explores the benefits, challenges, and ethical considerations of using food in play, while also looking at sustainable and safe alternatives. Educators will reflect on their own practices, and discuss multiple perspectives. Rather than offering one “right” answer, this session will provide you with tools to reflect critically, weigh benefits and drawbacks, and make informed choices that align with your teaching philosophy, community values, and children’s needs. Participants will engage in a hands-on activity by creating a mini sensory kit to inspire classroom use. Liz Gannon (she/they) (left) is a Registered Early Childhood Educator who brings valuable experience to the early years field, having served in various capacities over several years. Passionate about advocating for the early years sector, Liz joined the Strive team in 2023 as an Intern and has since excelled, now serving as a Resource Centre Specialist. Previously, they worked as an educator in a child care center, where she nurtured her belief in the transformative power of literature to foster a sense of belonging among children and their families. They see literature as a window and sliding glass door into their lives. She believes that the Strive Professional Resource Centre provides educators with a vital platform to connect with literature and discover stories that enhance belonging and inclusion in their practice. Lena Haider (she/her) (right) is a registered Early Childhood Educator. She graduated from Fanshawe College in 2016, after earning an Honours Specialization degree in Family Studies from Western University. Al Lerman is a veteran musician with a highly personal style. Possessing a great knowledge of the blues tradition on both harmonica and guitar, he brings that sensibility to unique songs that he's written about his own contemporary life and times. His soulful delivery, coupled with wry and thoughtful songwriting, make him an engaging and compelling solo performer. He is equally at home playing an intimate house concert as he on a large festival stage. Easy going with a wonderful sense of humour, he is considered among the top harmonica players in the country, and has been heard on countless recordings and live sessions. Al was founder of the much-loved band FATHEAD (1992-2016), garnering two JUNO AWARDS, and he is also a long-time member of the renowned Maple Blues Band. A solid fixture on the blues & roots scene for over fifty years, music not only runs through his veins, it is embedded deep into his bones. Lerman has amassed an impressive legacy of songs along with a deserving list of industry awards & nominations. In 2026, his latest album,“Country-Fried Blues”, garnered a Canadian Blues Award nomination for Acoustic Recording Of The Year and he also snagged a nod for Blues Harmonica Player Of The Year. www.allermanmusic.com

As both artist and gardener, Mimi O’Bonsawin (Pronounced: MEE-MEE O-BON-SA-WIN) draws a deep connection between the two practices: “Making music and growing food are very much the same. They both start with a seed and, with proper care, can grow into a beautiful garden that we all can share. I put intention and love into every seed and every note.” In May 2025, Mimi was awarded Solo Artist of the Year at the Trille Or Awards. Earlier in the year, she toured Australia with performances at the Woodford and Cygnet Folk Festivals. After a winter hard at work on her next album, she spent the summer on the road with her band at Festivals across Canada, including Vancouver Folk Festival, Mission Folk Festival, Francos de Montréal, Festival en Chanson Petite-Vallée and was invited by Elisapie to perform on the TV series Le Grand-Solstice, airing nationally on Ici-Télé & APTN. Mimi performs as a duo with her husband, Ryan Schurman, on drums and percussion, creating an intimate yet uplifting experience. Together, they invite audiences into their universe with a full-band sound that inspires dancing, singing and joy. 2024 brought incredible opportunities, with performances at festivals and arts centres across Canada. Mimi opened for JUNO-award-winning artists, including Aysanabee, Good Lovelies, The East Pointers, and DJ Shub, as well as Beverly Glenn-Copeland at Montreal’s Rialto Theatre. In spring 2024, during her second tour in France, Mimi released Live In Concert, her first-ever live album, capturing favourite moments from one of her Willow album release shows. Released in March 2023, Willow is a collection of 14 songs that marked a turning point in her creative journey. “This album sounds like the music I have always heard in my heart,” Mimi says. “It is honest, it is real, and it is full of life. I have never felt more alive.” Late that year, on September 29, 2023, she released her first full-length French album, Boréale, an intimate reflection of her roots, also recorded with Ryan in their log home studio. The 2023/2024 season was marked by acclaim, with nominations at the Folk Music Ontario Awards, Capital Music Awards, Canadian Folk Music Awards, Northern Ontario Music & Film Awards, Native American Awards, and Prix Trille Or. Her albums Willow and Live In Concert were also considered at the GRAMMYs. In 2019, Mimi won Best Pop Album at the Indigenous Music Awards. Reaching new audiences at home and abroad, Mimi stays true to this statement: “I want to invite audiences into my world because, for me, music is medicine. It’s not mine, it’s not yours, music is something we all share. It is our garden.” The North Sound is an award-winning roots-Americana group based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, led by Blackfoot singer-songwriter Forrest Eaglespeaker and vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Nevada Freistadt. Blending elements of Americana, folk-rock, and alt-country, the group crafts songs that speak to lived experience, exploring themes of belonging, perseverance, and the search for connection with sincerity and heart. Whether performing as an intimate duo or a full five-piece band, The North Sound invites audiences into an experience that feels both personal and universal. Their music is grounded in the power of storytelling, offering moments of reflection, healing, and joy. Forrest’s compelling voice and stage presence are matched by Nevada’s emotive harmonies, creating a performance that leaves a lasting impression and fosters a genuine sense of community. Since forming in 2014, The North Sound has become a compelling force in the Canadian music scene. Their live shows are soulful, honest, and impactful—perfect for soft-seat theatres, folk/roots festivals, and community-driven events. The group’s music has garnered national acclaim:• 4 #1 singles on the Indigenous Music Countdown and Saskatchewan’s MBC Radio• 2x winner of Indigenous Artist of the Year at the SaskMusic Awards (2020 & 2021)• Featured performances at the Regina Folk Festival, the National Arts Centre, and more• Collaborations with JUNO Award-winner Crystal Shawanda and New Sun Music Their albums showcase The North Sound’s rare ability to merge personal storytelling with a wide-reaching musical appeal. Signature tracks like “Wash Me Away” and “Between the Ditches” resonate across genres and generations.

Journey back in time at Ross Bay Villa Historic House Museum, a volunteer-run museum and restoration project located in Fairfield. On Saturdays at 2PM, walk down the path past heritage apple trees and beautiful gardens and step into one of only a few 1860s houses still standing in Victoria. From the bright and airy drawing room to the charming children’s bedroom, the house has been restored with extraordinary care to appear as it did when the Roscoe family called it home. Come experience a unique piece of Victoria's past, with a knowledgeable volunteer as your guide. The Gothic Revival Ross Bay Villa was built in 1865 for Victoria businessman Francis Roscoe and his wife, Anna Letitia Roscoe. Located far away from the bustling streets of the new gold rush town and a short distance from the beach at Ross Bay, the property offered a beautiful countryside home for the Roscoes’ and their growing family. Since the year 2000, the site has undergone a massive transformation through thousands of volunteer hours spent carefully returning the house to it's original appearance inside and out. Admission is $7.50 plus tax per person. Tours must be booked ahead of time. All funds support the volunteer-based Ross Bay Villa Society which owns and operates Ross Bay Villa. Drop in a little early for your Saturday tour for our Ross Bay Villa Gift Shop. This unique vintage store has handcrafted items made by volunteers, plus everything from clothing and books to fine china and unexpected treasures. Stop by between 10-2 and find something special! Please note, donations of smaller, gently used household items are gratefully accepted. Notes: If no tickets are available for your Saturday tour date, this means all tickets released have been sold. As our historic museum is best explored in small groups with a guide, we try not to overcrowd each tour. If you would still like to visit on your preferred date, please arrive shortly before 2PM and speak to a member of our Society. We will do our best to accomodate you, but your tour slot will not be guaranteed as it is dependent on if another volunteer is available to host a second tour. If so, we can accept cash or etransfer (treasurer@rossbayvila.org) for your ticket. Our historic house museum has been restored to its appearance in the 1860s-70s. Nothing is behind glass! For that reason, children are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult. Children under 6 are no charge. The Villa is walker and wheelchair accessible, but due to the cozy confines of this mid-Victorian house, users of larger mechanized chairs may find the interior rooms more difficult to access. If you have any accesibility needs, please email us at info@rossbayvilla.org for more information.
