Brudenell Presents... 14+ (under 18s to be accompanied by an adult) TOPS — musicians David Carriere, Jane Penny, Marta Cikojevic, and Riley Fleck — write timeless music that reliably threads immediacy and depth. Bury the Key, their first full-length since 2020 and with new label home Ghostly International, is a captivating reintroduction for the Montréal band: ever refined, undoubtedly masters of their melodic craft yet unafraid of evolving and testing themselves against different, at times darker tones. The album faces feelings once locked away, engaging the give-and-take between happiness, hedonism, and self-destruction. While often inhabited by fictional figures, their glowing, grooving, self-produced songs draw from personal observations: intimacy (both inside and outside the band), toxic behavior, drug use, and apocalyptic dread. When recording started, they noticed a shift and leaned in, jokingly dubbed "evil TOPS," says Penny. "We're always kind of seen as a soft band or like naive or friendly in a Canadian way, but we made it a challenge to really channel the world around us." Through the lens of a looming epoch and the clarity that comes with age, TOPS dip into a more sinister disco realm with Bury the Key, giving their soft-focus sophisti-pop a sharpened edge.

Brudenell & FORM Presents... 14+ (under 18s to be accompanied by an adult) Based in Bristol, UK, SCALER (fka SCALPING) are a four-piece band: Isaac Jones on drums, James Rushforth on bass guitar, Nick Berthoud on guitar and Alex Hill on electronics. For the last five years, SCALER have been writing, recording and performing music together, trying to answer the question that guides their work; “How can a band bridge the gap between live guitar music and live electronic music?” The new single “LOAM” marks a new chapter for SCALER. Having connected with one another following the release of their highly praised 2022 debut album “Void”, the band’s collaboration with Daniel Avery sees the band lean further into their club and dance-based influences. Combining adrenaline fuelled rhythms with euphoric synths that ebb and flow around their heavier sensibilities. Speaking on the single, SCALER says "When the opportunity to work with Daniel Avery came up we obviously jumped at it; we’ve been fans of his for a long time and working on these tracks with him really helped us be more decisive, to trust our gut and not overcomplicate things."

Due to incredible demand, Irish folk trio Amble is excited to announce new dates to their ongoing world tour in support of their highly anticipated debut album, Reverie [Warner Records]. With over 100,000 tickets sold to date, Amble's live performances have captivated audiences worldwide, a testament to their growing fanbase. The band will now perform in more cities across North America, UK and Europe, sharing their captivating live show with even more audiences worldwide. These newly announced dates come on the heels of the band's previously revealed biggest Irish show yet at Dublin's 3Arena on December 4th, 2025, further underscoring their remarkable growth from intimate pub gigs to major venues in the last 18 months. Tickets for the newly announced dates will go on sale Friday, May 2nd 2025. Reverie, set for release on May 23rd, 2025, showcases Amble's signature sound: relatability, intimate storytelling, and authenticity seamlessly blended with no-frills acoustic instrumentation, serene soundscapes, and heavenly natural harmonies. The album, recorded live in various studios across Ireland and Los Angeles, captures the spirit of the band's early days. "In the studio, we’re all sitting in a circle and playing together around a microphone,” says Robbie Cunningham (lead vocals/guitar). “Basically, everything is recorded live. You can feel the energy when you get the right take. If there’s even one mistake, we’ll start over. If you listen to Reverie, you’re truly hearing who we are.” Amble, comprised of Robbie Cunningham, Ross McNerney (mandolin/bouzouki), and Oisin McCaffrey (vocals/guitar), has experienced a meteoric rise since forming in late 2022. The trio's journey from quitting their day jobs in rural Western Ireland to achieving international recognition, buoyed by over 100 million streams and sold-out shows, is a testament to their dedication and connection with audiences. "We’re unapologetically ourselves,” says Robbie. “The sound is refreshing. When you listen to it, we’d love for you to hear a level of originality.” Oisin concludes, “Hopefully, it feels timeless. Our ambition was to make an album that would be great 100 years from now or 100 years ago.” Before you purchase your tickets, make sure to check out our Event FAQs for all the important info — including entry requirements, accessibility options, and what to bring: https://www.leedsbeckettsu.co.uk/faqs/ If you still have questions after reading the FAQs, feel free to get in touch with our team at lbsu-welcome@leedsbeckett.ac.uk Please also note that this event is strictly age-restricted for those 14 and above, and children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

The Gig Cartel Presents... With support from Parker Barrow 14+ (under 18s to be accompanied by an adult) Critically acclaimed psychedelic Montreal four-piece rock’n’roll band the Damn Truth return to the UK touring in November 2025. In 2021, the band released their critically acclaimed breakout album “Now or Nowhere.” Produced by legendary Grammy Award winning Bob Rock (Motley Crue, The Offspring, Bon Jovi). On March 14, 2025, the band released their new self-titled album, “The Damn Truth” (also produced by Bob Rock) which features their brand-new single “All Night Long.” The band consisting of Lee-la Baum (vocals, guitar), Tom Shemer (guitar), PY Letellier (bass) and Dave Traina (drums) have toured the UK multiple times and performed at summer festivals including Steelhouse, Winterstorm and Planet Rockstock. After extensively touring the UK and Europe for the last four years, The Damn Truth return with their self-titled fourth album, The Damn Truth, and, once again, produced by the legendary Bob Rock. The new self-titled album is the culmination of 12 years of hard work and constant touring. The Damn Truth are a perpetual and virtually unstoppable rock and roll machine. Fuelled by two Top 40 singles on the Canadian Active Rock Charts (“Love Outta Luck,” “I Just Gotta Let You Know”), the new album marks the next level in their relationship with Bob Rock. He has pushed the band in all areas of playing, writing, and refining the Damn Truth signature sound, most evident in the revelatory power of Lee-la Baum's vocals as evidenced on the mystic, almost Zeppelin-vibed “The Willow;” the full on bittersweet romance of “Better This Way;” the social conscience of “The Dying Dove;” the cautionary “If Don't Make It Home;” and the hell yeah rabble rousing “All Night Long.” The Damn Truth have added some extra lanes on their rock'n'roll highway as they explore new musical scenery, but the destination remains the same: organic loud rock experienced best in a crowded concert hall dripping in sweat. The Damn Truth are regular staples on the UK’s biggest classic rock radio station Planet Rock. They first came to prominence on Planet Rock with the title track single from their 2021 album “This Is Who We Are Now” which was also played on BBC Radio 2’s Rock Show. Recently, the band have experienced airplay on Planet Rock with tracks from their latest album with the singles “I Just Gotta Let You Know,” “Love Outta Luck,” and “Better This Way.” The band have won Tracks of the Week on Classic Rock Magazine’s Louder Sound several times. This month, Classic Rock has published a feature entitled “Six Questions with The Damn Truth.” The Damn Truth have been championed by the British music press with extensive magazine coverage in Classic Rock, Rolling Stone, Guitarist, Blues Matters, Powerplay, Fireworks, Blues in Britain, HRH, and R’N’R Magazine. “The Damn Truth are a fresh revivalism of the psyche music scene from the mid 60’s,” says Rock Bands of LA’s editor Jeff Laufer. “Critics and fans alike praise the Damn Truth’s regeneration of the hard rock sound and values,” continues Laufer. “Bob Rock found a spirit within the band that he hadn’t experienced for many years. He saw something special… an artist with burning talent that needed the right direction to break wide open…like lightning in a bottle.” The Damn Truth have extensively toured Europe and North America and opened tours for Z.Z. Top (and partied with Billy Gibbons in his pyjamas), The Sheepdogs, Glenn Hughes, Styx, and Rival Sons. In 2021, they were special guests on Joe Bonamassa’s Keeping the Blues Alive Stream-A-Thon. “Accept no substitute, The Damn Truth are probably the finest rock ‘n’ roll band on the planet right now.” – Metal Planet Music “One of the best shows I’ve seen this year.” – Music News “With a near sell-out crowd, the band delivered an electrifying set that left the audience buzzing with excitement.” – Rock News

Brudenell Presents... With support from - Mollie Coddled & Rifka 14+ (under 18s to be accompanied by an adult) On a debut album shot through with grief and emotion, the deep, intimate friendship between the members of Low Girl fuels an almost telepathic interplay. Is It Too Late To Freak Out? sees the indie four-piece intermingle their voices and guitar melodies while vivid, endlessly curious soundscapes sprawl into extended vamps, holding tight to both tension and tenderness. It’s a collection filled with exploratory songs that unfold with momentum, the sound of a group of musicians who are deeply attuned to each other. At its heart is the idea of telling one’s own story: how much to share, how much to keep for oneself – two questions frontperson Sarah Cosgrove asked herself while writing these 11 tracks. Here, she taps into painfully universal themes without being too overt: mental illness, family dynamics, ghosting, feeling small in a big world. “Our music speaks to triumph in the face of misery,” she explains. “It’s about turning those darker moments into something you feel like you've overcome, and pushing towards making yourself a better person.” Since 2021’s peppy Big Now EP, Low Girl’s singles have been postcards from that journey, and Is It Too Late To Freak Out? is a fully-realised dispatch from this same pathway – imbued with an urgency, ambition, and devastating potency only hinted at until now. In the past four years, the band’s lives have changed considerably. As the accolades have accrued – airplay across BBC Radio 1, 6Music, and Radio X, slots at Reading Festival and SXSW in Austin, support from DIY and Spotify – they have also spent time on the road, performing headline tours as well opening for the likes of The Murder Capital, Swim Deep and Pom Poko. Low Girl initially started out as a solo endeavour for Sarah, as a means of exploring a tumultuous inner world through art. Over time, the project has expanded to include her sibling Tom (drums), and bassist/guitarist Bradley Taylor and keyboardist Toby Morgan, whom she met while studying at Lincoln University. As an independent act, the creation of Low Girl’s debut was a process unadulterated by commercial constraints or expectations; the band can attest to the thrill of an ever-changing road map. “We want it to be hard for people to pin us down and put us into a category,” Bradley affirms. The result is a collection of astounding sonic range – from colossal hooks that soar over waves of distortion (‘Doing My Time’, ‘2007’), to mixing layered textures and horn flourishes (‘Driveway’). Written and recorded between Bedford and rural Yorkshire, Low Girl were intentional about ensuring the sonic diversity of the album, nodding to the atmospheric dream-pop of Canadian group Alvvays, as well as Bradley’s lifelong love of emo. ‘Handbrake’, an exhilarating adventure in genre-hopping, throbs and glistens with a quietly ecstatic joy, while ‘Overgrown’ offers a deeper foray into unexpected territory, melding distorted riffs with pop-facing vocal lines. Is It Too Late To Freak Out?, therefore, is the result of absolute devotion to the craft and fine-tuning. Low Girl understand what it means to fight for the music, to make it the best it can be; the more hardships they have had to weather as individuals, the more precious their moments of collaboration have become. Stirring centrepiece ‘Ctrl’ – which speaks to the complex afflictions of living life with chronic obsessive-compulsive disorder – was born from a particularly affecting moment in the studio. “I remember feeling like I had a headache, because I was ruminating so deeply over some unfinished lyrics,” Sarah explains. “I knew I had to express exactly how I felt in order to set my own narrative; to go for gold while remaining aware of my own vulnerabilities.” Created by Toby, who has a background in graphic design, the album’s collage-style artwork offers a way of communicating trauma in a way that words alone cannot. “On the cover image, there are dozens of small details, drawings and broken things. All of this reflects the content of the music, too: it’s purposely non-linear,” he explains. Crucially, however, the album ends on an uplifting note. The seven minute-long ‘I Love All My Friends’, which features a gorgeously-arranged piano outro, engages with feelings once locked away – the give-and-take between happiness and clarity. The song’s title is repeated like a mantra in order to ground its author, bringing her back down to Earth as the realisation dawns: one’s close friends will always be there when everything else seems to be crumbling. “Working on that song felt like a form of mindfulness,” Sarah affirms. “It made me realise that when you're going through difficult times, that's when you grow the most; that's when you can feel the most connected to the world around you.” Visceral, anthemic and alive, Is It Too Late To Freak Out? is built on a pact made between four best friends to wade through the mess together. The creation of the album has allowed Low Girl to look towards a future filled with promise, not shying away from painful experiences but instead embracing them as part of the band’s rich, intricate tapestry.

Brudenell Presents... 14+ (under 18s to be accompanied by an adult) Turin Brakes are releasing brand-new studio album ‘Spacehopper’ in May 2025. Produced by Grammy-winning Guy Massey, Spacehopper is the band’s first new music in over three years and marks Turin Brakes’ 10th studio album. A big milestone for a band who released their debut album over 24 years ago - The Mercury Prize nominated The Optimist LP which catapulted them into the mainstream and achieved Gold status in the UK. The title track Spacehopper from the new album is available everywhere now. South London 4-piece Turin Brakes was founded by childhood friends Olly Knights and Gale Paridjanian and is today made up of Knights, Paridjanian, and long-term collaborators Rob Allum and Eddie Myer. They followed The Optimist with their most commercially successful album ‘Ether Song’ in 2003 which hit the Top 5 in the UK Official Album Charts. Arguably more sonically adventurous than their debut it features the Top 5 hit single ‘Pain Killer (Summer Rain)’. They are a band that understands the art of longevity and ‘Spacehopper’ promises to be a worthy edition to a rich and sonically diverse catalogue of albums. To date, Turin Brakes have racked up seven top 40 singles, six top 40 albums and over a million record sales worldwide.

Brudenell Presents... 14+ (under 18s to be accompanied by an adult) "HENGE and GONG will be performing as joint headliners on the Sounds of the Cosmos Tour, sharing equal billing across all dates. To keep things exciting, the order of performance will alternate from show to show. As such, we won’t be revealing in advance who will be opening or closing on any given night. Please arrive in time for the advertised start, and plan to stay until the end to enjoy the full experience." GONG The universe of Gong began in 1969 when Daevid Allen was inspired by a profound psychedelic vision. A founder member of Soft Machine, Allen incorporated his spiritual and metaphysical leanings into an evolving collective. More a mythology than a band in the conventional sense, Gong established itself as one of the most unique, innovative and experimental rock groups of the seventies, through an exploratory mix of rock, jazz and psychedelia with elements of mysticism and surrealism, unafraid to deliver its messages directly, obliquely or whimsically. The current incarnation, who were put together by Daevid before his swansong album with Gong, ‘I See You’, honour his intention that Gong do not die with him, urging the band to “carry it on into new unknown heights and depths far beyond anything I could ever imagine myself”. The collective of Kavus Torabi, Dave Sturt, Fabio Golfetti, Ian East and Cheb Nettles is the most stable in Gong/s illustrious history, having written, recorded and toured together for eight years since Allen/s passing. A dynamic, powerful and explosive live band, their music draws from the credo of the original Gong while remaining committed to pushing the composition, performances and message into new realms, paying no mind to nostalgia. Gong in 2023 continue the ethics, attitude and lifestyle that was always woven into the fabric of the band. Line up:Ian East – saxophones and woodwindsFabio Golfetti – guitar and singingCheb Nettles – drums and singingDave Sturt – bass and singingKavus Torabi – singing and guitar HENGE Attention Humans! This is HENGE.We are not from this world. We bring you music from distant planets. We offer this gift for the edification of humankind… so that eventually your species may put an end to war and set up new homes in space. Extra-terrestrial joymongers - HENGE - have been delighting audiences in the UK and Europe since they landed on Planet Earth ten years ago. Their scintillating live performances earned them ‘Best Live Act’ at the Independent Festival Awards and they have since cemented their reputation with four acclaimed albums, numerous tours and regular main-stage festival appearances. Their music escapes definition, but occupies a space between rave and prog rock that nobody knew existed. It is energetic, subversive and invigoratingly playful, jovially going ‘where no one has gone before’. Ultimately, HENGE are spreading a message of hope which leaves audiences feeling amused and uplifted in equal measures.
