Transporting you from the temples of Abu Simbel to the Valley of the Kings, the exhibition’s crowning masterpiece is the Coffin of Ramses II — a once-in-a-generation opportunity to see the pharaoh’s original sarcophagus. Discover gold masks and silver coffins from the royal tombs of Tanis, beautifully preserved animal mummies and amulets, dazzling jewellery alongside colossal sculptures, carvings and stone heads. Following acclaimed, sold-out runs in Tokyo, Paris, San Francisco and Sydney, Ramses and The Pharaohs’ Gold: The Exhibition runs in London at NEON, Battersea Power Station from 28 February 2026. Uncover Music presents Hutch Hutch are whimsical, psychedelic twang-pop enthusiasts with a penchant for poppy hooks. Emerging from Brighton's vibrant music scene after lockdown, Hutch hit the ground running with live momentum. As well as selling out iconic local venues like Green Door Store, Komedia and The Old Blue Last, Hutch have been steadily touring across the UK and Europe, supporting artists like The Last Dinner Party, W.I.T.C.H, Oracle Sisters, Gitkin, Do Nothing and LOVE along the way. This consistent touring has led to multiple festival appearances including TGE, Victorious, 2000 Trees and Dot to Dot to name a few. Clash have praised their explosive, joy-filled live shows as "delivering carefree psyche-pop effervescence". In 2025, Hutch recorded with producer Iggy B (Penelope Isles/Deery/Gary Numan) in a studio by the seaside to sculpt the band's upcoming EP and debut LP. As well as this, they've completed two headline UK tours, recorded backing vocals on Paris Paloma's Good Boy and lent their music to multiple fundraisers including MAP (Medical Aid for Palestine), Testicular Cancer awareness and Parkinson's Research. Recently Hutch have bolstered their live show with the addition of harp, synth and flute, as well as two more voices adding to their already gleaming four-part harmonies that Far Out Magazine described as "Brian Wilson-esque." With releases championed by Radio X and BBC Radio 6 Music ("Joyous" - Deb Grant), and featured by Lambrini Girls on BBC Radio 1's Rock Show, Hutch are quickly establishing themselves as one of the UK's most exciting new acts. With so much creativity unfolding on stage and in the studio, Hutch have a lot in store for 2026 and beyond.

Uncover Music presents PleasureInc. Founded in 2021 by Norwich-based brothers Jonny Silver (guitar/vox) and Kenny Pleasures (drums/vox), PleasureInc. have consistently gone out of their way to make music you can't quite put your finger on. You'll find them at the point where British indie sleaze collides with American hip hop, sweeping up the offshoot shards of punk, funk and dance, and injecting it all with a spirit born from skateboarding and 90s wrestling. Rebellious, playful and energetic; their output feels akin to Beastie Boys, Gorillaz and Tyler, The Creator. Call it sleaze-pop. Call it crunch-core. Call it sh*t-that-make-ya-mumma-cry. Do not put your finger on it. Recruiting the deadly tag-team of the Babyface Killa (keys/percussion) and Chilli Dawg (bass/guitar) into the gang, the band have made a habit of selling out shows across the UK and Europe, packing venues in London, Brighton, Manchester, Paris, Amsterdam and the fine Norwich City. Recent highlights include festival appearances at Left of the Dial, The Great Escape and Down the Rabbit Hole; a full UK/EU tour supporting Friday Pilots Club; love from BBC Radio 1's Future Artists, 6Music New Music Fix and playlisting on Radio X's Xposure with John Kennedy. Last seen in a jacked up Citroen Berlingo headed straight for the North Sea, rumours are that PleasureInc. have begun preparations for their debut album deep beneath the surface. Last received communications simply read: GIVE YOURSELF TO PINC. LEISURE.

Over 12's with an adult Doors 7pm, 7.30pm start In the music of Charlie Parr, there is a sincere conviction and earnest drive to create. The Minnesota-born guitarist, songwriter, and interpreter of traditional music has released 19 albums over two decades and has been known to perform up to 275 shows a year. Parr is a folk troubadour in the truest sense: taking to the road between shows, writing and rewriting songs as he plays, fueled by a belief that music is eternal and cannot be claimed or adequately explained. The bluesman poet pulls closely from the sights and sounds around him, his lyrical craftsmanship built by his influences. The sounds from his working-class upbringing—including Folkways legends such as Lead Belly and Woody Guthrie—imbue Parr’s music with stylistic echoes of blues and folk icons of decades past.

The Dave Weckl / Tom Kennedy project is an all-star fusion experience featuring three icons of jazz and one of the hottest young keyboardists around. Four stars of world jazz who grant a large role to improvisational interplay, to often pressing dynamics and rhythms, alternating with melodic ideas, light, airy, soft sounds in which one senses the stubbornness in the search not for the effect but rather for the necessity of single note. The result of the Dave Weckl -Tom Kennedy Project It's an high energy jazz/fusion group which will drive us in a wonderful musical journey through latin, afro and modern jazz rhythm, it's music that becomes beautiful moment by moment. After the successful tours of 2021,2022, 2023 and 2024 when they performed the music from the album "Stories", the Project will be back in Europe next Fall to present the latest Tom Kennedy's album "New Start", as well produced and mixed by Dave Weckl. Please Please You, Hey! Manchester & Brudenell Presents... Following her 2023 album SUGAR HONEY, Scottish songwriter, producer and now filmmaker Carla J Easton (Teen Canteen, Poster Paints, The Vaselines) made an award-winning documentary called Since Yesterday, about the history of pioneering Scottish girl groups. Often a collection of women who hardscrabble-d their way through the industry with little more than, as the cliche goes, three chords and the truth, their stories inspired Easton to take a new approach to her fifth album I Think That I Might Love You. She picked up the guitar and learned it for the first time, pushing her keyboard sound to the fringes on an album that's a celebration of guitar-led music - pop, indie and power. The single "Oh Yeah", out 11 February, is the first track and mission statement of this sound. The single, like the rest of the album, was recorded off the floor at the fabled Chem 19 studio and is an example of the collaborative nature of I Think That I Might Love You. Co-written with Simon Liddell (Poster Paints, Frightened Rabbit) - the rest of the album features collaborations with MALKA (Hen Hoose), Man of the Minch, Stevie Jackson (Belle and Sebastian), Johnny Scott (Chvrches) and outsider indie legend Darren Hayman of Hefner - "Oh Yeah" was written after Easton and Liddell had gone to see a Teenage Fanclub show. "'Oh Yeah' is the sound of loving someone who doesn’t quite love you back, but giving that love anyway," explains Easton. "Knowing the cost and paying the price with a defiant smile; beauty with a bruise underneath. It's a song about reaching outward, leaning forward, heart wide open, and hoping to be caught. It’s not bitter - I think it’s brave to let yourself glow for someone even if they are half a step away. Musically, there are big Teenage Fanclub guitars, huge strings, and harmonies stacked like confessions you never quite say out loud. It’s the sound of standing in your bedroom, heart pounding, replaying voice notes that don’t say what you hope they will, and still pressing play again. The reckless, gorgeous place where you still believe love might turn around and choose you. It was brilliant to work with Simon again on some new songs!" Done in under two minutes, "Oh Yeah" is a Jenga tower of harmonies, 4/4 drums, riffs, melodies that almost threatens to collapse under the weight of its sheer joy but comes out the other side as a celebration of love, friendship and community. "Oh Yeah" and I Think That I Might Love You are both produced by Howard Bilerman (Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Wolf Parade, U.S. Girls, The Weather Station). The album was made with support from Creative Scotland.

Rube & Rake, celebrated folk duo from Canada, with Gabriella Frances on May 27 at The Folklore Rooms. Rube & Rake is an award-winning folk music duo based in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. Josh Sandu and Andrew Laite, natives of Canada’s West Coast and East Coast respectively, sing about a 21st century Canadian experience, unconfined by a single region or musical style. Their original songs reflect on the nature of home, the passage of time, and the spaces where aspiration and obligation intersect. The Rube & Rake live performance combines musical precision and sensitive vocals with the pair’s approachability and easygoing humour. They have released three full-length albums, most recently Good Time After Bad in 2025. Gabriella Frances is a Brighton-based singer-songwriter crafting dreamy, ethereal alt- folk. Inspired by the traditions of devotional and pastoral music, her songs are rooted in the rhythms of the natural world and explore existential themes of awakening, impermanence and the nature of reality. Divergent Promotions presents by arrangement with Motion Agency VENT 414 In its original format Vent 414 was the short-lived (1995-1996) project of Miles Hunt (The Wonder Stuff), Morgan Nicholls (Senseless Things) and Pete Howard (The Clash, EAT). Existing for only two short years the band made one album (self-titled) with Steve Albini at London’s Abbey Road Studios, released by Polydor Records. Hailing from the UK the band was originally named simply ‘Vent’ but added the ‘414’ monicker after being contacted by another band also using the name. It is reported that the number 414 was the collective weight, in lbs, of the three members, were they at ideal fighting weight. Performing mainly in the UK in 1996 the band also played in France, Germany, Belgium and the East Coast of the USA. After parting ways in late 1996 Morgan Nicholls went on to perform with The Streets, Gorillaz, Museand The Who as well as releasing one solo album ‘Organised’. Pete Howard went on to join Queenadreena with former Daisy Chainsaw members KatieJane Garside and Crispin Gray as well as sessioning with Paul Weller on his ’22 Dreams’ album, latterly joining The Wonder Stuff in 2018. Miles Hunt eventually reformed The Wonder Stuff in 2000, who remain active. The three original members of Vent 414 were persuaded to reform in 2024 by record producer, Matt Terry (The Enemy, The Clause, Pastel). Hunt says “As kind as it was o Matt to suggest Vent 414 make another album, I was in no mood to write any new songs. So he invited the three of us to have a knock-around session at his studio for a couple days, just to see what might happen. On the first day we came up with six separate song frameworks, five of which have made it onto the new album.” Over a period of eighteen months the band has recorded fifteen new songs, produced by Matt Terry and mixed by George Perks (Skindred, kid kapichi, The Enemy). The album will be released in May 2026, accompanied by a short UK tour.

Specializing in a raw hillbilly punk-blues style that roars like a tweaking modal chain saw, Left Lane Cruiser is a band led by slide guitarist Freddie J. Evans IV. Their music has the swampy feel of North Mississippi hill country-blues à la Junior Kimbrough and R.L. Burnside, with a good dose of snarling garage punk tossed into the mix. While the band would sometimes expand into a trio, they've recorded the bulk of their work as a two-piece, and the tough, funky roar of their music arrived fully formed on their 2006 debut Gettin' Down on It. Left Lane Cruiser stayed true to their sledgehammer take on garage-infused blues, even when they partnered with James Leg on 2012's Painkillers, added an electric skateboard on 2015's Dirty Spliff Blues, or brought in a keyboard player for 2017's Claw Machine Wizard. They returned to the basics of a two-man lineup for 2024's Bayport BBQ Blues. Left Lane Cruiser came out of Fort Wayne, Indiana, formed in 2004 by Freddie J. Evans IV on guitar and Brenn Beck on drums. A self-released album, Gettin' Down on It, was released on the group's own Hillgrass Bluebilly Records in 2006, and the following year they signed to Alive Naturalsound Records. Bring Yo' Ass to the Table appeared from the imprint in 2008, followed by All You Can Eat in 2009 and Junkyard Speed Ball in 2011; when not in the studio, the band can usually be found on the road, touring constantly to spread the word. Teaming with James Leg (keyboardist with Black Diamond Heavies), the band released Painkillers in 2012, which also featured guest spots from bassist Jim Diamond and blues harpist Harmonica Shah. Rock Them Back to Hell! followed in 2013. The release of 2015's Dirty Spliff Blues saw Left Lane Cruiser going through some lineup changes; Brenn Beck left the group and Pete Dio stepped in as their drummer, while the group also expanded into a trio with the addition of Joe Bent, who played bass and an electrified skateboard. In 2016, the band released the collection Beck in Black, which featured eight fan favorites along with six previously unreleased tracks from Brenn Beck's time with the group. Left Lane Cruiser were down to the duo of Evans and Dio when they released 2017's Claw Machine Wizard following the departure of Joe Bent, while guest keyboardist Jason Davis appeared on the album. Davis was back on board for 2019's Shake and Bake, a set full of stories of life on the road. The band was stripped down to the elemental duo of Freddie J. Evans IV and Brenn Beck, who had returned to the lineup, for their tenth studio album, 2024's Bayport BBQ Blues. The duo dedicated the album to Chris Johnson, founder of the annual Deep Blues Festival, who championed the band and had passed away in April 2023.

Treacherous Cretins present… The Conceptual Continuity Tour - 60 Years of Frank Zappa Treacherous Cretins are returning to Newcastle to deliver another dynamite show, celebrating the work of Frank Zappa. 2026 marks 60 years since the release of Frank’s debut album with The Mothers of Invention, Freak Out. In the 27-year-long career that followed, Frank’s prolific output totalled 62 albums, with dozens more released posthumously since his passing in 1993. The Conceptual Continuity Tour promises to celebrate the depth and breadth of Frank’s vast body of work, with the Cretins crafting a setlist that will take the audience through every era of his sound - from the late 1960s psychedelic sound of the Mothers of Invention, through to the progressive, politically-charged songs from his final 1988 tour. Expect your favourite Zappa classics, with a generous helping of deep cuts - including tracks never before performed live: even by Zappa himself. *Note* - unlike in previous years, Robert “Bobby” Martin will NOT be performing with Treacherous Cretins, due to ill health. This event is 16 and over. Any ticket holder unable to present valid identification indicating that they are at least 16 years of age will not be admitted to this event, and will not be eligible for a refund.

During his renowned stage show Bobby Rush frequently jumps high into the air, arms spread and legs tucked, only to land gracefully and return without a hitch to his dazzling routine. It’s a move you might expect at a contemporary R&B show, but it’s downright shocking when you realize that Rush is in his late 80s. “I never thought I would be here this long,” says Rush. “I was 83 years old before I won a Grammy, but it’s better late than never. I laugh about it, but I’m so blessed and I surely never thought I’d be making a living doing what I’m doing. I’m not just an old guy on my way out.” Hardly. Rush’s busy schedule includes headlining European festivals with his band and solo programs at venues including Jazz at Lincoln Center, and he just recorded an album of brand new material, All My Love For You, coming out via his own label Deep Rush Records in collaboration with Nashville-based Thirty Tigers. Over the last several years he’s won a second Grammy, re-recorded his 1971 hit Chicken Heads together with his old friend Buddy Guy and young blues star Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, and written a critically acclaimed autobiography, I Ain’t Studdin’ You: My American Blues Story. That story began in rural Homer/Haynesville, Louisiana, where Rush—born Emmett Ellis, Jr.—grew up on his family’s farm picking cotton, tending to mules and chickens, and living in a home without electricity nor indoor plumbing. He built his first guitar on the side of the family’s house out of broom wire, nails, bottles and bricks. The blues, Rush recalls, provided “an escape from the cotton fields. You’d go out on Saturday night to the juke joints, but then on Monday morning you’d go back into the cotton fields to work for your bossman.” He left behind farm work to perform on the road with the Rabbit Foot Minstrels, and as “Bobby Rush”—a name he took on out of respect to his father, a minister—he toured the jukes and clubs of Louisiana, Arkansas and Mississippi before settling in Chicago in the 1950s. Through singles on labels including Chess, ABC and Philadelphia International and relentless touring Rush established an unparalleled reputation as an entertainer, which later led to him being crowned by Rolling Stone magazine as King of the Chitlin’ Circuit, the network of African American clubs that arose during the segregation era. Based in Jackson, Mississippi since the early ‘80s, Rush began “crossing over” to new audiences several decades ago, featured in the Martin Scorsese-produced documentary The Road to Memphis, appearing alongside Terrence Howard, Snoop Dogg and Mavis Staples in the documentary Take Me to the River, and performing on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon along with Dan Aykroyd. And the eternally youthful Rush was even able to play himself in the 1970s in Netflix's 2019 hit biopic Dolemite is My Name in a scene with Eddie Murphy. And the recognition keeps coming. In addition to his two Grammy wins (and six nominations), he’s in the Blues Hall of Fame, has won 16 Blues Music Awards (among 56 nominations), and there’s currently a musical in development called Slippin’ Through The Cracks with sights on Broadway, recently co-written by Rush and playwright Stephen Lloyd Helper, who co-wrote the 7x Tony-nominated musical Smokey Joe’s Café celebrating the songs of Lieber and Stoller. Rush, meanwhile, still remains steadfastly committed to the African American audiences who sustained him for decades, and on his new album he looks back from his current vantage point as a seasoned artist celebrated by an ever-growing fan base. “I put together all these songs when I was down with the COVID, thinking about where I was going to go from here. You’ll find everything about me inside these songs—folk funk, traditional blues, ballads, love, a comedy and a shit-talking. I don’t know if it hurts me, but my head just won’t let me be still.” “The first song is, ‘I’m free, look at me. I’ve got the shackles off my feet and the chains off my mind.’ As a blues singer, as a Black man, there were a lot of places I could not go, a lot of things I could not do. But now I’m a free man, I can do some things I never did before and talk about some things I couldn’t talk about.” In the romping autobiographical ‘I’m the One’ Rush celebrates his long history, including learned from B.B. King and Muddy Waters after arriving in Chicago in 1952. But he was always one to carve is own path, and relays here the challenges in his ultimately successful efforts to “bring the funk into the blues.” “Back in the day it was hard for me to convince people about recording ‘Chicken Heads’ with that kind of beat—there was none of my peers cutting that kind of record. It was too funky.” Most of the album finds Rush with new takes on the foibles of romance, addressing the sort of morality tales that he often acts out on stage with the help of his voluptuous dancers. Many of his songs over the years, such as “What’s Good For the Goose (Is Good For the Gander Too),” have drawn from the well of African American folklore, as does the first single off his new album, which revisits a classic that was recently covered by a young star of Southern Soul. “King George had a record out called “Keep On Rollin,” and that really comes from a record I did 28 years ago called “One Monkey Don’t Stop No Show,” which was about woman who said she was going to leave me. So I now have a single, “One Monkey Can Stop a Show”—I’m going to treat her better so she sticks around.” Rush advocates body positivity in celebrating his “TV Mama” ‘with the big wide screen,’ and in “I’ll Do Anything For You” proclaims that he’ll serve as his lover’s chauffer and masseuse, sleep out in the rain, and even rescue her from the jungle. “I joke and talk about sex in a way that people can understand. I’m all for lifting it up, because if it wasn’t for sex, none of us would be here. That’s what the world is built around, making love and making money. I’m in the position now that I can tell the story better than most people, and plus I’ve got nothing to lose now.” Rush has become one of the most prominent advocates for the blues tradition, and says “it’s the root of all music, it’s the mother of all music. If you don’t like the blues, you probably don’t like your mama.” And he has no plans to slow down. “I’m still in decent health and my mind is pretty keen, and the most blessed thing is that I still have people around me who love what I do. And even if you don’t like me, you’re still going to say, “I don’t like Bobby Rush, but, damn, he’s good.’

AEG presents Chart topping folk group The Longest Johns are known the world over for their rollicking harmonies and raucous energy that are blowing new wind into the sails of traditional sea shanties and work songs. Formed in 2012 across a kitchen table in their native Bristol, they bonded over a passion for traditional maritime folk music, interwoven with a wry humour, a taste for all things digital. and a flair for their own songwriting – ancient meets modern down by the docks. Constant gigging over land and sea, coupled with a rare command of social media and a string of quality releases saw them build a devoted fanbase at home and abroad. Their breakout moment came in 2021, when their rendition of ‘Wellerman’ went viral on TikTok, sparking the ‘Shanty Tok’ craze that became a global resurgence in sea shanty music and saw the band sign to Decca Records. This year, they have released their tenth album to round up the Pieces of Eight project – an EP a month for eight months culminating in the 24-track compilation. In the next 12 months they’ll continue to take folk music back to its roots by many routes, playing more than 100 shows across the UK, Europe, North America and Australia. Their love of heritage and tradition runs deep – in 2024 they released the fan-funded album Voyage with its companion book of original short stories, artwork and lyrics. However, as digital natives and avid gamers, The Longest Johns were overjoyed to play at the opening of the 2025 Pokémon Europe International Championships where they debuted a new track, Face the World, written especially for the event. With a strong digital presence boasting over 500,000 YouTube subscribers and nearly 700,000 monthly Spotify listeners, they’ve also released a 20-track album of sea shanties digitally retooled in Chiptune, taken part in the annual Jingle Jam hosted by gaming stream The Yogscast, and share their own video games on YouTube and Twitch @LongestJohnsGaming. The band have toured extensively across the UK, North America, and Europe, as well as Australia and New Zealand. Their many highlights include selling out The Troubadour in LA (where Elton John began his conquest of the USA nearly 20 years before any of The Longest Johns was even born), performing at the late Queen's birthday party at the British Embassy in Paris, and playing festivals from Glastonbury to Falmouth Sea Shanty Festival. The Longest Johns are Jonathan ‘JD’ Darley, Andy Yates and Robbie Sattin.

It was brilliant to work with Simon again on some new songs!"Done in under two minutes, "Oh Yeah" is a Jenga tower of harmonies, 4/4 drums, riffs, melodies that almost threatens to collapse under the weight of its sheer joy but comes out the other side as a celebration of love, friendship and community. "Oh Yeah" and I Think That I Might Love You are both produced by Howard Bilerman (Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Wolf Parade, U.S. Girls, The Weather Station). The album was made with support from Creative Scotland.

Please Please You & Brudenell Presents... Nora Brown is the “brightest young star in old-time music” (Songlines), playing traditional music focused on southern Appalachian banjo and guitar, with her singing revealing her “thirst for storytelling.”( NPR) . She digs deep: “a reverent nod to deeply-rooted ole-time traditions, and an exhibit of sonic heirlooms carefully amended to meet a modern moment with vintage elegance.” American Songwriter. The New Yorker called her most recent solo record Long Time To Be Gone “a disarming collection of traditional laments and exquisite banjo instrumentals.” Nora will perform in a duo with award-winning fiddler Stephanie Coleman. First brought together by Brooklyn’s tight-knit old-time music community, Nora Brown and Stephanie Coleman share a rich musical partnership that belies their 20 year age difference. Stephanie is a master old-time fiddler, having recorded with and toured internationally over the last two decades with celebrated artists including trailblazing all-women string band Uncle Earl. Beginning at age 6, under the tutelage of the late musician and scholar Shlomo Pestcoe, Brown also counts Alice Gerrard, George Gibson, and the late John Cohen, Lee Sexton, and John Haywood among her teachers and mentors. Just nineteen years old, Brown has released three albums, a single, and an EP on Jalopy Records – all of which have charted on the Billboard Bluegrass Charts during the first week of release. Across each haunting collection of traditional music, Brown’s playing is lucid, confident, and full of grace. She has toured across the US, Europe, and Japan, playing renowned festivals including the Newport Folk Festival, Cambridge Folk Festival, Roskilde Festival in Denmark, Winnipeg Folk Festival, and Live Magic! in Tokyo. She has performed on NPR’s Tiny Desk twice, TED Salon, WNYC’s Dolly Parton’s America and an official showcase at the 2022 Americana Fest in Nashville.

12 iconic songs. One unforgettable voice. Just Adele — through strings, piano and silence. A voice that defined a generation. A sound that cuts through silence. A woman who turned heartbreak into art. The Best of Adele invites you to experience the emotional power of Adele’s music as never before — in a cinematic, instrumental performance by the renowned Mystery Ensemble in an intimate church setting lightened by a flicker of hundreds of candles. In this one-hour concert, soaring string arrangements reveal the architecture behind Adele’s songs: the ache, the weight, the quiet strength. From the first piano note of Hello to the final pulse of Chasing Pavements, every melody is reborn in shimmering acoustics, with no words needed to feel every word. This is not a tribute concert. It’s a curated, immersive experience — somewhere between a film score, a diary, and a love letter.Duration: 60 minutes Age restriction: 6+ Doors open at least 30 minutes before the concert. Out of respect for guests and performers, late entry may not be permitted. We cannot guarantee your original seats after the concert begins. Please note: This concert is a tribute performance celebrating the music of Adele. Adele herself is not performing at or affiliated with this event. The programme is presented by independent artists who honour her iconic repertoire through their own live interpretation About venue Greyfriars Kirk is one of Edinburgh’s most historic and atmospheric churches, located in the very heart of the Old Town. Founded in 1620, the Kirk is closely woven into Scotland’s national story — most famously associated with the signing of the National Covenant in 1638. Surrounded by the iconic Greyfriars Kirkyard, the building stands as a powerful symbol of faith, heritage, and resilience. The interior offers a striking combination of historic gravitas and luminous openness. Elegant arches, tall windows, and beautifully restored features create a space that feels both dignified and welcoming. The balance of intimacy and scale makes the Kirk particularly well-suited to concerts that seek emotional immediacy within an architectural setting. Renowned for its clear and resonant acoustics, Greyfriars Kirk provides an exceptional environment for choral works, chamber ensembles, sacred repertoire, and candlelit performances. Sound carries naturally beneath the vaulted ceiling, allowing music to unfold with warmth, presence, and expressive clarity. In the cultural heart of Edinburgh, Greyfriars Kirk offers a venue where centuries of history meet the living voice of contemporary performance — a space where music resonates within one of Scotland’s most storied settings. We are delighted to welcome Patrick for a very rare solo acoustic show in Cluny 2. The title of Patrick Sweany’s latest record is apt for more reasons than might be readily apparent. For fans, it’s a nod to the massive amount of time between full-length albums (7 years if you are counting). For Sweany, it’s a theme that’s permeated his latest songs (running out of time, getting older). The time in between 2018’s Ancient Noise and Baby, It’s Late has been full of changes for Sweany. Difficult changes. These mile-markers and their aftermath made it challenging for Sweany to do what he’s done for over 20 years: write songs, record songs, get in a van and play those songs for you. It wasn’t as though Sweany’s music-making simply stopped, however. As the world opened back up after the pandemic, Sweany resumed his Blue Monday residency atThe 5 Spot in E. Nashville playing 50’s and 60’s era Blues songs with The Tiger Beats: McKinley James, Jason Smay, and Ted Pecchio. He also started a new Soul, Funkproject called SUPER FELON with JD Simo, Adam Abrashoff, Pecchio and Robbie Crowell. Most importantly, he started writing and recording again. For the first time, Sweany chose to do almost everything himself, recording tracks on his Tascam 388 tape machine in his Bongo Room home studio. While the end results were not quite good enough for public consumption, the kernels of some great new songs were started, and a less polished, more organic approach was established.Sweany decided to call on the collaborators in The Tiger Beats and SUPER FELON to help him progress. Using JD Simo’s House Of Grease studio and McKinley James’Red Lodge studio, Sweany brought in players from both of these projects. “These guys are some of the most in-demand players in Nashville,” says Sweany about the sessions. “They know when it’s right and when it’s not. If they felt like these songs weren’t good enough, they’d tell me.” “We tracked two days live, no headphones, band in the room, old school style. It felt good. It felt right. The songs sounded like songs. Back in the saddle.”On top of the old-school style of recording, Sweany chose to produce the recordings himself - something he’d never done. The results are a raw, more direct collection of songs that tap directly into the pain, tension, and catharsis of the past seven years. Stylistically they capture elements ofSweany’s previous recordings: the raw Blues-Rock opener “My Time Ain’t Long” could be an outtake from 2008’s Every Hour Is A Dollar Gone, while the subtle ballads“Christmas Parade” and “See Through” are reminiscent of 2015’s ruminative Daytime Turned To Nighttime. Elsewhere, however, Sweany embraces some newinfluences such as the hooky rock anthem “Golden Fields” and the 70s organ funk groove of “Trouble With Love.” After over 25 years writing, recording and touring, Sweany knows more than most that you can’t rush the process. You have to wait until the songs are ready. In that regard, Baby, It’s Never Too Late.

Active since the late nineties, Julie's Haircut is a band from Emilia, northern Italy, devoted to spacey, hypnotic sounds. The band’s music has evolved in time, through a series of albums and EPs, from the garage-rock soulful energy of their debut towards more experimental grounds, reaching a kaleidoscopic eclecticism that spans rock and psychedelia, from electronic to minimalism, with echoes of jazz, ethnic, dub and drone music. They have been making music with Damo Suzuki, Sonic Boom, Philip Corner, Valerio Cosi and more. Their new album 'Radiance Opposition' is released in November 2025. From psyched-out Krautrock to free-jazz wig outs to funk-flavoured downtempo jams, Brown Spirits endeavor to smash every show as if it was their last. Hailing from Melbourne (AUS) the band maintains a strict DIY recording ethic and comes with a handful of global releases, the 2 most recent albums being on UK's acclaimed Soul Jazz Records thus landing Brown Spirits as the first ever act from Australia to sign with the label. With strong support from national radio and accolades from abroad including Mojo UK, Uncut Magazine, KEXP and BBC Radio, such recognition has seen the band sharing stages with some their favourite offshore influences such as Kikagaku Moyo (Japan), Frankie and the Witchfingers (usa), Minami Deutsch (Japan) and Yawning Man (usa).

Scottish composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Liam Shortall, aka corto.alto has had an incredible couple of years: his debut album Bad With Names was shortlisted for the iconic Mercury Prize (2024), won 'Best Album' at the Scottish Jazz Awards. In 2025, he won 'Act Of The Year' at the Jazz FM Awards, public vote with Ezra Collective and Nubya Garcia the other two nominees, as well as UK Independent Breakthrough at the Aim Awards. Now signed to Ninja Tune, he's released singles DON'T LISTEN, VANDAL and APRIL feat. anaiis which continue to showcase his natural ear for cross-pollination of styles. The tracks have received enormous radio support with over 3000 plays globally in less than 6 weeks as well as being on BBC 6 Music's A-Playlist. DON'T LISTEN was also included in the iconic 'FC26' soundtrack. This is music on his own terms. Music that speaks not just to his time spent as part of the burgeoning and fertile music scene in Glasgow; but equally to an eclectic mix of influences that draw as much on his affinity with club-culture and all its forms of Electronic Music, or to his love of classic Hip-Hop, Soul and Funk. Standard Theatre Seated Nora Brown is the “brightest young star in old-time music” Songlines, playing traditional music focused on southern Appalachian banjo and guitar, with her singing revealing her “thirst for storytelling.” NPR. First brought together by Brooklyn’s tight-knit old-time music community, Nora Brown and Stephanie Coleman share a rich musical partnership that belies their 20-year age difference. Stephanie is a master old-time fiddler, having recorded with and toured internationally over the last two decades with celebrated artists, including trailblazing all-women string band Uncle Earl. “Some of the most interesting and haunting traditional music we’ve heard… impossibly talented… One thing that I really loved about both your albums is that both your banjo technique and your vocals are amazing. You seem to be mining these old songs with emotions far beyond your years.” – Jason Verlinde, Fretboard Journal “A disarming collection of traditional laments and exquisite banjo instrumentals.” – The New Yorker
