Direct from the Egyptian Museum Cairo. Ramses and the Pharaohs’ Gold brings 180 priceless treasures to London for the first and only time, in an exhibition that explores the extraordinary life, power and legacy of Egypt’s greatest pharaoh. Transporting you from the temples of Abu Simbel to the Valley of the Kings, the exhibition’s crowning masterpiece is the Coffin of Ramses II — a once-in-a-generation opportunity to see the pharaoh’s original sarcophagus. Discover gold masks and silver coffins from the royal tombs of Tanis, beautifully preserved animal mummies and amulets, dazzling jewellery alongside colossal sculptures, carvings and stone heads. Following acclaimed, sold-out runs in Tokyo, Paris, San Francisco and Sydney, Ramses and The Pharaohs’ Gold: The Exhibition runs in London at NEON, Battersea Power Station from 28 February 2026. ABOUT RAMSES Builder, Warrior, God…King Ramses II, widely known as Ramses the Great, ruled Egypt for nearly 67 years and remains history’s most iconic pharaoh. So powerful was his reign, that the nine pharaohs who followed him all adopted the name of Ramses to emulate his strength and vision. This exhibition invites you to witness the rise of a ruler who sought not only to command an empire, but to secure his immortality for millennia to come. Lone Assembly are a Swiss quartet blending new wave, romantic synthpop and dark, melancholic post-punk. Formed by Raphaël Bressler (vocals, keyboards), Glenn Le Meur (guitar), Jim Bodeman (bass) and Romain Segu (drums), the band broke through in 2024 with their debut EP That Never Happened — a release rooted in themes of grief, emotional distance and vulnerability, pairing ’80s cold-wave textures with sharp modern production. Their forthcoming debut album Knots & Chains, due February 2026 via Irascible Records, expands on this world with thunderous basslines, hypnotic rhythms, reverb-soaked guitars and atmospheric synths underpinning Bressler’s deep, resonant vocals. Known for their striking gothic-inspired visuals and growing reputation for powerful live shows, Lone Assembly have quickly built a dedicated following across the new-wave and dark-wave scenes, while retaining undeniable pop appeal. Ro Nova is a London-based electropop artist and producer blending ’80s synth textures with ethereal vocals to create a sound that feels both nostalgic and forward-looking. Since the release of her debut single “do you think it’s fine?”, she has received support from BBC Radio 1, BBC London and Reprezent Radio, alongside tastemakers including Harriet Rose (KISS FM) and James Threlfall (BBC Introducing). A feature with German electronic heavyweight Schiller helped expand her audience internationally, following the album Illuminate reaching No.1 in Germany. Ro Nova has since toured Europe with Schiller, including performances at Berlin’s Uber Arena, and has collaborated with Grammy Award-winners Fred again.. and Kamille, alongside sessions with RAYE, MNEK and Toddla T. Following standout sets at The Great Escape Festival and London’s Scala, Ro Nova recently headlined SJQ Dalston and will join Lone Assembly on their 2026 UK tour.

Uncover Music presents Common Goldfish Carving psych grooves through the grey sprawl of London, common goldfish is the underground project of Tottenham's Jonty Lovell - producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist with a taste for breakbeats, warped synths, and that golden-era fuzz. Blending the swagger of Britpop, the groove of funk, and the pulse of '90s electronica, common goldfish sounds like a half-remembered night out - hazy, nostalgic and full of feeling. What started as spontaneous sets in local skateparks and canals has since grown into a full-blown 4-piece live outfit - bringing a wild energy to venues like Camden Assembly and Peckham Audio, and owning the stage at BBC Introducing showcases and The Great Escape's First Fifty. The debut album, Walk in the Park, is a raw, sun-drenched soundtrack for figuring life out when nothing makes sense. Born from late-night bus stop conversations and worn-out speakers, it's a record that embraces the ridiculousness of modern life while finding a strange kind of beauty in the mess. It's both lost and luminous, a reminder that even in the chaos, there's joy to be found. Dubbed as "future headliners of tomorrow" by BBC Introducing, common goldfish sit comfortably outside the algorithm - swimming sideways, unbothered and fully in their own world.

Unapologetically goofy live, but tight and melodic as they are dissonant, band members Ali, Matt and Noah take the lofi and grunge elements of classic alternative, but with fresh inspiration from peers in the indie punk sphere, Trust Club have a sound of their own. With two EPs under their belt, Trust Club are working on new material in preparation for their debut album. Having played numerous headline shows and having shared the stage with Speedy Ortiz, Weakened Friends, Snake Eyes, Supermilk and Me Rex, Trust Club have established themselves as an exciting live act. "There is something so inviting and euphoric about seeing Trust Club perform live; their gleeful grins and effortlessly fun set always makes for a satisfied crowd. " - Daisy Taylor, AltEscape.FFO: Weezer, Superdrag, Pavement, Title Fight, Speedy Ortiz Sinews Sinews is a band from Oxford, playing unsfashionable post-hardcore rock music. Never macho - this is heavy music made with a humble heart. The band released their debut EP 'Reanimated' in January 2024, and a follow up EP 'Choreography' in February 2025, which Nightshift Magazine said 'stands true to post-hardcore's original ideals and finds the sweet spot between thoughtful intricacy and musical violence.' Live the band have shared the stage with the likes of Mclusky, Fucked Up, Thank, The None, Cassels, Objections, and Other Half. FFO: Fugazi, Drive Like Jehu, Helmet, Modest Mouse, Unwound, Pavement

When the women of Blackwater Holylight left their hometown of Portland OR three years ago, their mission was to escape the gloom of the Pacific Northwest and the placating comfort of familiarity. Aiming for the sunnier climes of LA, the band found themselves not only in a warmer environment, but in a blank slate landscape—one without jobs, longtime friend groups, and the easy retreat of old habits. And it was here, unencumbered by the contentment of security, that Blackwater Holylight began diligently working on their fourth full-length album, Not Here Not Gone. As with their previous work, Not Here Not Gone explores the duality of light and dark menacing riffs provide the bedrock to beguiling melodies; dense walls of shoegaze guitars pair with lighter-than-air synths; and heavy subject matter is delivered by siren song vocals. Across their work, the listener gets a sense of empowerment at one turn, vulnerability the next. As drummer Eliese Dorsay describes it, “some songs we’re the predator, and some songs we’re the prey.” The juxtaposition of confidence and uncertainty is never in as such stark relief as when one makes a life changing decision, which may explain how the band’s relocation intensified their study in contrasts to intoxicating new heights on Not Here Not Gone. This event is 16 and over. Any ticket holder unable to present valid identification indicating that they are at least 16 years of age will not be admitted to this event, and will not be eligible for a refund.

Danny started playing guitar at about 10 years old, alter listening to the music his parent's enjoyed such as Buddy Holly & The Crickets, Chuck Berry, The Shadows, The Animals, The Rolling Stones and The Beatles. Danny found his passion with the guitar through Blues guitar legends who inspired him to play such as BB King, Albert Collins Albert King and Buddy Guy in his early teens. He was in his first band at 12 and was gigging regularly at 14. By his late teens he moved into other areas of music such as rock, funk and reggae. By his early 30's, Jazz and Swing began to captivate him and he began to learn about Django Reinhardt and the Gypsy Swing music, which has inspired him to this day. Tilting at Windmills is the brand-new stand-up show from Taskmaster alumni and double Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner, John Kearns. A fragmented, digressing portrayal of a 38-year-old man’s life, alluding to books he hasn't read, touching on the modern condition. Plus VAT! More allusive and bleak as ever, it is unreal the comedian you become. And for who? Decent craic with the right crowd. A show for those who have read about but not committed to the Guinness Nitrosurge. Seen bewildered on Taskmaster (Channel 4), terrified on Live at the Apollo (BBC), getting through Never Mind the Buzzcocks (Sky), and implicating others on his Sky stand-up special The Varnishing Days. More comfortable on pods but comes alive on stage, for your pleasure! ★★★★★ The Guardian “most will surely be won over…with the delightful, poetic flourish that defines all his work… perfectly structured with overlapping themes and surprising callbacks… It’s all rather wonderful” Chortle ★★★★★ “about as funny as anything this decade” The Times ★★★★

The Crescent & Brudenell Presents... Acclaimed blues singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jerron Paxton returns to Europe this May for a run of headline dates across the Netherlands, Ireland and the UK, on sale now: jerronpaxton.com A songwriter, inheritor of tradition and a true modern-day songster, Paxton builds a bridge between generations, embodying the blues, ragtime and old-time Black music of the 1920s and ’30s while speaking directly to the present day . His Smithsonian Folkways release Things Done Changed — his first album of entirely original material — was hailed as “a history-conscious blues album for our time” (Wall Street Journal), further cementing his reputation as one of the leading voices in contemporary roots music . In October 2024, Paxton made a standout appearance on Later... with Jools Holland, performing “What’s Gonna Become of Me” and a special duet of “Night Time Is The Right Time” with Jools Holland — a performance that led to a sold-out show at London’s legendary Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jSyjX11fz4 Born and raised in South Central Los Angeles and now based in New York City, Paxton approaches his craft with wit, reverence and deep historical knowledge. Playing guitar, banjo, piano and violin, he revives the sounds of a century ago with striking authenticity — yet his songs remain sharp, personal and unmistakably modern. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bp96QfBrj5M

Road Less Travelled presents WesternAF presents Chris Acker + Northcote + Rachel Baiman Wednesday 20th May, 7:30pm Tickets are £16 (+b/f) in advance and available from SeeTickets WesternAF is taking three greats from the States across Europe this May to spread the word on good country music and joins us in York on the 20th! A live intimate show with some of America’s best kept secrets in country music. Chris Acker In a genre full of tall tales and marketable lies, Chris Acker crafts candid songs – weaving his wit and woes into a body of work that exposes the stale plight of the American Songster to the honest, and sometimes hilarious, light of day. Since leaving his childhood home of Seattle, Washington, Chris Acker has called the haggard decadence of the New Orleans Americana world his purlieu. In the tradition of Guthrie and Prine, Chris lends a quavering voice to the half-rotten romance of the unremarkable and unrefined. Regardless if you’re sitting by a backyard fire on a muggy Louisiana night or standing stage-side in some far flung town, when you hear Chris Acker playing, you’re hearing the end result of countless hours of observing the masters of the craft…and the end result of repeating their mistakes. Some hard-times don’t happen behind plows, they happen behind dish-pits and cash registers. Some ramblers don’t feel the hot breath of freedom, just the smell of car exhaust and a couch for a bed. From the folk revival through the golden age of country music, deafened by punk shows and brass bands alike, Chris’s songwriting is a nod to the absurd yet muted brilliance that inhabits the molded corners of the bars he patrons and cratered street he treads, paired with a pained honesty that merits a long second look.

Brudenell Presents... With support from - Danny George Wilson The Handsome Family’s new record began with a scream in the night. “It was a bleak winter during the middle of the pandemic,” says Brett Sparks. “One night around 4 a.m. Rennie started screaming in her sleep. She screamed, ‘Come into the circle Joseph! There’s no moon tonight.’ Scary as it was, I thought, man, that’s a good chorus!” The Handsome Family (songwriting and marriage partners Brett and Rennie Sparks) have been defining the dark end of americana for over 30 years. Brett writes the music and Rennie writes the words. Their work has been covered by many artists including Jeff Tweedy, Andrew Bird and most-recently Phoebe Bridgers. Their song “Far From Any Road” was the opening theme for HBO’s True Detective season one and still receives thousands of Shazams every week from all over the world. Handsome Family songs take place under overpasses and inside airports. Historical figures like George A. Custer and Nikola Tesla appear alongside a flying milkman and the whisper of an air conditioner against a plastic tree.

Crosstown Concerts Presents... With support from - To The Lighthouse Black Box Recorder included main man , former member , and vocalist . Like , Black Box Recorder's songs commented on the state of English affairs, both social and personal, often using character sketches that exposed the less-than-pleasant with sharp frankness and simplicity. Domesticity and childhood themes often ran through their albums. Coming together in 1998 as Haines kept his primary vehicle operable, the trio introduced themselves with their first single ("Child Psychology") being banned from U.K. radio for the line "Life is unfair/Kill yourself or get over it." The full-length England Made Me followed later in the year, establishing and Haines as a songwriting team that excelled at getting its points across with the least amount of instrumentation necessary. Raw and minimal but still perversely pop, 's detached and fragile yet rich voice (usually kept up front in the mix) provided the ideal characteristics for their songs. Imagine a sober, somber, dub-influenced version of with an elegantly smooth singing on top. Jumping ship from to for 2000's The Facts of Life, the first single from the album surprisingly went Top 20, providing Haines with the highest chart position of his career. Despite this, Haines made no bones about his disdain for within a week of the chart placement, feeling that they dropped the ball after being handed it on a silver platter. Artistically, The Facts of Life was a superb follow-up, incorporating electronic elements without sounding anything like a trip-hop or -style dance-rock group. The Worst of Black Box Recorder, a collection of the trio's B-sides, came the following year. After a lengthy break aided by 's downfall, as well as two solo releases from Haines, the group landed on for 2003's Passionoia. Without forsaking their knack for subversion, Black Box Recorder returned with their most ornate batch of songs yet, several of which were as poppy as anything recorded by . Prior to the album's release, and tied the knot. After a hiatus of several years during which Haines continued to release solo material, Black Box Recorder resurfaced in 2007, collaborating with German band on a holiday single called "Christmas Number One" under the moniker the Black Arts. They made a handful of live appearances in 2008 and even announced an impending fourth album the following year, though it was never released. In 2010, they released one final single, "Keep It in the Family" b/w "Do You Believe in God?," before splitting for good that same year. ~ Andy Kellman, Rovi

Drawing from minimal krautrock repetition, pounding industrial techno and EBM, Lisbon trio MAQUINA. (‘Machine’) explore the boundaries of these genres with force, carving out an adrenaline-fuelled sound that's equally suited to dark, sweaty back rooms and the dance floor. Though MAQUINA.’s sound might have the club in its sights, this is an organic dance music that’s equally punk and psychedelic, played by a guitar-drums-bass power trio formation firing on all cylinders, without a synthesiser in sight. Instead, the MAQUINA. M.O. is relentless machine-like drums and primal vocal outbursts (Halison), scuzzy floor-shaking bass riffs (Tomás) and piercing guitar noise and FX (João).

In a genre full of tall tales and marketable lies, Chris Acker crafts candid songs – weaving his wit and woes into a body of work that exposes the stale plight of the American Songster to the honest, and sometimes hilarious, light of day.Since leaving his childhood home of Seattle, Washington, Chris Acker has called the haggard decadence of the New Orleans Americana world his purlieu. Northcote is the musical project of Canadian singer-songwriter Matt Goud, known for his heartfelt songwriting and dynamic live performances. Since launching in 2008, Northcote has toured internationally, performing alongside artists such as The Gaslight Anthem, Frank Turner, Hot Water Music and many more while building a loyal fanbase across North America and Europe. In 2026, Northcote is set to release To Cherish, a full-length album recorded at Rain City Studios in Vancouver and produced by Jesse Gander (Japandroids, White Lung). Raised in Chicago, Rachel Baiman made her way to Nashville at 18 with the dream of being a professional fiddle player and has since released two solo records and an EP, alongside session and side-person work with Kacey Musgraves, Kevin Morby, and Molly Tuttle among many others. As a songwriter, she has garnered a reputation for her specific brand of political and personal lyricism, which Vice’s Noisey described as ‘Flipping off Authority one note at a time”."I've been looking for a new well of inspiration, outside of myself," Rachel Baiman told Wide Open Country in early 2024. "Every time that you work with someone you admire there's a lot of growth that happens from being around their creative process and how they approach a song. It brings a new energy to my own work when I can find a new perspective I hadn’t seen before”.

The National Youth Jazz Orchestra (NYJO) present their new project celebrating the legacy of Abdullah Ibrahim and the sounds of South African township jazz. Township Jazz became a unique and powerful mix of traditional African rhythms, gospel harmonies, and the big-band energy of swing and bebop. It was both a celebration of cultural resilience and a protest against oppression, reflecting the struggles and hopes of Black South Africans. Abdullah Ibrahim’s music embodies both joy and protest, blending Township Jazz with global influences. His compositions, like the iconic ‘Mannenberg’, became anthems of resilience, unity, and liberation during the anti-apartheid struggle. His legacy continues to inspire generations of musicians worldwide, including many of the Emerging Professionals that form NYJO today. Hard to believe we know but it is true, Kirk Brandon has now been leading SPEAR OF DESTINY for over 40 years. SOD's performances at Sign of the Times, Rebellion and Kubix festivals have heralded fantastic reviews “Festival Stealing Dream set” wrote The Northern Echo. The Hillbilly Moon Explosion + Guests 7pm, Tuesday 19th May 2026, Queens Hall, Nuneaton. The Hillbilly Moon Explosion are heading back to the UK for a short run of dates calling into Oran Mor on Saturday 16th May following their sold-out show in the City in 2025. Formed in 1998 in Zurich, Switzerland, The Hillbilly Moon Explosion exists in a middle ground between the traditionalism of many rockabilly revival bands and the rougher, spookier sound of psychobilly. Founded by vocalist and rhythm guitarist Emanuela Hutter and bassist/vocalist Oliver Baroni, their music has more than its share of retro twang, with Hutter's polished, enigmatic singing blending with the sometimes raucous, sometimes moody guitar lines, and they add dashes of rockabilly, surf, blues, punk, lounge pop, country and even ska to season their evocative mix. The band staked out their trademark sound on 2002's Introducing the Hillbilly Moon Explosion, they fully hit their creative stride on 2011's Buy Beg or Steal, and they collaborated with psychobilly veteran Mark "Sparky" Phillips for 2019's The Sparky Sessions. Support from Country Ties.

The Nottingham Forest Museum and Stadium Tour experience offers an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look into the City Ground - the home of one of the oldest clubs in English football. All culminating in a visit to our brand-new museum celebrating the rich history of Nottingham Forest Football Club. You'll be met by your Legend and one of our expert tour guides at the Club Megastore before embarking in a 120-minute experience which starts in our brand-new Media Lounge facility. You'll then walk in the footsteps of both manager and footballer, entering the City Ground through the Player's Entrance before exploring the Away team changing room, a room that has been occupied by celebrated players both past and present. Immerse yourself in the managers matchday routine as you visit Vitor's matchday office, the same place where he talks tactics with his first-team coaching staff. And then finally, visiting the Home team changing room as you have your photo taken in your favourite players seat. Amplify new music nights are events dedicated to showcasing and supporting up-and-coming musicians. They provide a platform for artists to perform their original music and gain exposure to a wider audience. SCREAMING SKYS Formed in Hitchin, Screaming Skys is a 4 piece grunge gaze band who have been playing in various rock bands since the mid 90s. Emerging from the haze of memory and emotion, Screaming Skys fuses the raw urgency of 90s alt-rock with the dreamy textures of shoegaze, creating a sound that feels both nostalgic and timeless. Their music drifts between introspective melancholy and cathartic release, pulling listeners into a world where teenage angst meets adult reflection, where ghostly melodies linger over crashing guitars and reverb-soaked atmospheres. The band are currently recording their debut album to support their blistering live shows where chaos meets clarity and true expression is released! Members: Ross Cummins (Vocals) Alan Grant (Guitar) Eann Bilbe (Bass) Paul Cummins (Drums) BELONGING Careering through anthemic indie rock, tender folk, lush orchestral numbers and R'n'B-flecked floorfillers, Belonging - aka singer/songwriter Chris Patrick - has been busy in the last few months building a set full of eclectic DIY charm. There’s been plays on Radio X and Amazing Radio, support slots with English Teacher and Coach Party and gigs at London buzz venues like the Windmill and The Victoria, all helping to refine a live show founded on singalong choruses, fizzing energy and homemade slogan t-shirts. 14+ (Under 18s with an adult)

Chart topping folk group The Longest Johns are known the world over for their rollicking harmonies and raucous energy that are blowing new wind into the sails of traditional sea shanties and work songs. Formed in 2012 across a kitchen table in their native Bristol, they bonded over a passion for traditional maritime folk music, interwoven with a wry humour, a taste for all things digital. and a flair for their own songwriting – ancient meets modern down by the docks. Constant gigging over land and sea, coupled with a rare command of social media and a string of quality releases saw them build a devoted fanbase at home and abroad. Their breakout moment came in 2021, when their rendition of ‘Wellerman’ went viral on TikTok, sparking the ‘Shanty Tok’ craze that became a global resurgence in sea shanty music and saw the band sign to Decca Records. This year, they have released their tenth album to round up the Pieces of Eight project – an EP a month for eight months culminating in the 24-track compilation. In the next 12 months they’ll continue to take folk music back to its roots by many routes, playing more than 100 shows across the UK, Europe, North America and Australia. Their love of heritage and tradition runs deep – in 2024 they released the fan-funded album Voyage with its companion book of original short stories, artwork and lyrics. However, as digital natives and avid gamers, The Longest Johns were overjoyed to play at the opening of the 2025 Pokémon Europe International Championships where they debuted a new track, Face the World, written especially for the event. With a strong digital presence boasting over 500,000 YouTube subscribers and nearly 700,000 monthly Spotify listeners, they’ve also released a 20-track album of sea shanties digitally retooled in Chiptune, taken part in the annual Jingle Jam hosted by gaming stream The Yogscast, and share their own video games on YouTube and Twitch @LongestJohnsGaming.
