The Larches

Fri, Jan 9 at 7:30 PM
Cluny 2

Event Information

The Larches are an alt/ sludge metal band from the North East of England. Bringing their ‘fat’ and ‘heavy’ sound everywhere they go the band consists of: George Moss (drums) Alfie Murphy (bass) Noah Annandale (vocals) Joel Hardwick (rhythm-guitar) Sonny Evans (lead-guitar). The Larches officially started playing as a five piece in early 2023. The band released an EP In February 2024, and then went on to develop a heavier style. From there, The Larches have crafted their sound and style playing countless gigs all around the North of the UK and really cementing their name into the roots of the local music scene. The single Equilibrium was released in June 2025, a track that really sets the tone and direction the band is heading. Artists such as Acid Bath, Deftones and Queens of the Stone Age are now a clear influence, and you can hear this on the band’s latest material delivered in the form of a Double A-Side that included the tracks Ego Death & The Skin I Live In, the tracks received some great reviews and airtime across the UK and Europe. "Skin ups the riffage for an incendiary romp that would stop a marauding army in its tracks" The Crack Magazine. The band have recently been hitting the studio, fine tuning their live show and you can expect to hear big riffs, intense vocals and a heavy wall of sound. https://youtu.be/yQ2FGqODNJg?si=smThAgJSu03kE8Qh https://open.spotify.com/track/46xXrI32sUqwP8CVMeTKri?si=e895cea3bd37439b https://open.spotify.com/track/5dtCfcDvPiXR5ov2mN7RJM?si=1800b87981cd4c3e This event is 16 and over. Hector Gannet

Hector Gannet

Sun, Jan 11 at 7:30 PM
Cluny 2

Event Information

EXTRA DATE ADDED AFTER FIRST DATE SOLD OUT VIA PRE-SALE. A second date has been added as Hector Gannet return to Cluny 2, making it two consecutive early New Year shows to celebrate the release of a new single from their forthcoming album due in spring 2026. Currently employing a brass section as seen recently at Durham Brass Festival, and at their sold-out headline show at the 550 capacity Exchange venue in North Shields, they will perform songs from their forthcoming album plus some reworks of tracks from the previous two albums, ..and maybe a surprise or two! In 2025 they supported Sam Fender for the second time at St James Park, and were special guests with Elbow at Mouth of The Tyne festival.  Their recent single The Jetty’s End was announced as ‘track of the week’ on BBC Introducing North East, with a review in The Most Radicalist declaring    “the North-eastern collective have created a sweeping, hymn-like piece that folds church bells, brass and a youth choir into their rugged folk-rock DNA.” Whilst a reviewer at ‘The Ginger Quiff’ went as far as to say - “While the rest of the world swoons over Sam Fender as the North East’s answer to Springsteen, I’d much rather revel in the indie-folk of Hector Gannet, more akin to Martin Stephenson than Springsteen, The Jetty’s End is both gloriously joyful and emotionally taut, the closing section of the song is as life-affirming as it gets.” The initial show sold out to the Hector Gannet mailing list, and with the band having completed previous tour dates in England and Scotland with Sam Fender and with Sea Power, plus support slots with various other well-known artists such as Lindisfarne, Kathryn Williams, Peter Doherty and Richard Thompson, early booking for this second show is highly recommended. This event is 16 and over. Any ticket holder unable to present valid identification indicating that they are at least 16 years of age will not be admitted to this event, and will not be eligible for a refund.
