16 - 19 September 2026 Ten Years Reimagined. Forty Years in the Making. The Soho Jazz Festival has grown year on year, with each September bringing more energy, more discovery, and more of Soho’s hidden corners thrown open to music. 2026 will be a landmark — ten years since the festival was reimagined by Soho Live Studios, and forty since it first began. To protect its intimate spirit, line-ups and venues will only be revealed at August Bank Holiday. Insiders can secure their place early with a £50 Supporters Reservation, which unlocks early access and doubles to £100 credit when the pass store opens. Refundable, limited, and reserved for those in the know. The Intimate Festival in a World of Overcrowding In a city where queues stretch down the street and every rooftop seems to have a ticketed event, the Soho Jazz Festival has always been different. It isn’t about drawing the biggest crowds or splashing the largest line-up poster across the Tube. It’s about creating rooms where music breathes, players connect, and audiences feel they’ve stumbled on something rare. The danger of popularity is that intimacy gets lost. Grassroots artists can be pushed aside as festivals scale up, replaced by safe names who’ll sell the most tickets. We refuse that path. Soho has never been about the safe choice — it’s about risk, edge, and discovery. A Festival That Feels Like Soho Every September, Soho comes alive with music in its most unexpected corners — a basement club here, a members’ lounge there, a hidden room you’ve walked past a hundred times. That’s the joy of the Soho Jazz Festival. It’s not about scale, it’s about closeness. Year on year, the buzz has grown, but the heartbeat has stayed the same: artists at the centre, audiences up close, and discovery in every room. Why We’re Doing Things Differently in 2026 Most festivals get bigger as they get older — more tents, more posters, more queues. But Europe’s grassroots jazz festival has chosen another path. To keep things exciting, surprising, and, most importantly, intimate, we’re holding the line-ups and venues back until August Bank Holiday. It’s our way of keeping the focus on the music, not the numbers. How to Be an Insider This is where the fun begins. A Supporters Reservation is your early ticket to the party. £50 now unlocks early access when the pass store opens — and doubles to £100 credit towards your All Access Pass. Fully refundable until August Bank Holiday, limited in number, and designed for those who know that Soho’s magic is best enjoyed up close. After that, a very small number of passes reach the public just a week before the festival begins, 16–19 September.

Behind black shrouds of obscurity and desolation, the performers of GAEREA deliver their odes in cascading maelstroms of aggression and beauty. Emerging from the age of pandemic to whatever awaits humanity next, the dark horde remains on the frontlines of the next generation of extreme metal. With an EP and three albums to their name, GAEREA has rapidly distinguished themselves from the thousands of bands toiling away in the underground. Brewing their cauldron of sound from a recipe of pounding black-metal blast mixed with a touch of harrowed, reflective longing, many devotees of the darkened arts have flocked to their banner. With the emergence of third full-length album Mirage, those numbers certainly grew. GAEREA met a challenge when releasing their second album during the pandemic, the aptly titled Limbo, to excellent world reception. In the meantime, they found the total suspension of interactive life as it was previously known to be the perfect breeding ground for further creation and making. Sizzling with ambition from day one, GAEREA may present one unique face to their audience, masked and enshrouded, but the truth is they have not remained changeless. As their previous album name ‘Mirage’ suggests, the inability to trust what our senses are telling us could be construed as one of the album’s central themes. Rather than constrict their art to mythological references or anti-religious tropes, GAEREA instead plumb the depths of the human experiences of isolation and suffering. Just two years since ‘Mirage’ was released, GAEREA is here, erupting with intensity, casting forth black ashes over the world yet again. Their latest release, ‘Coma’, has finally surfaced, marking a pivotal shift. From this point forward, everything changes. It’s time for GAEREA to bridge the gap between underground metal and the elevated realm they’ve attained. With ‘Coma’, GAEREA emerges from the underground scene, ascending towards a permanently lasting position at the head of the table. An emotional gateway to a dark black metal scene, a guide to salvation, pain, despair and letting go. Moving up, into the blackness that is above. GAEREA is the answer, the only answer. Within ‘Coma’s’ ten tracks lies an individual narrative, each with its own tale to unveil. Collectively, they blend nuances of aggression, tranquility, solitude, and fervor. Boasting a superior production that threads the needle between caustic and clarity, GAEREA yet again admit their loyalty to producer Miguel Tereso of Demigod Recordings for the production of ‘Coma’. Together they created the birth of ‘Coma’, the new era for metal mankind. Distinguishing themselves ever more so, the Vortex handpicked their artist Nathan Lorenzana with a clear assignment to create their mesmerizing cover artwork. Months of hand drawing the image with a ballpen lead to this masterpiece which dipped his name into ‘Coma’. The beauty of GAEREA lies in the directness and simplicity found within their florid tapestry of extremity and aggression. Whether it is in the less-polished aural dynamite of Mirage, or in the lustrous textures of Coma, GAEREAis building a mighty edifice of metal. With talons dipped in the inky blood of black metal and scraped across the flesh of human suffering, GAEREA is leading a charge into the future of darkness, and all those who find beauty and power in the dark side of existence would do well to take heed.

AGMP Presents AGMP Concerts presents FLAMIN' GROOVIES 'Shake Some Action' 50th anniversary tour. "The Flamin' Groovies may be the greatest rock and roll band to ever come out of San Francisco." Rolling Stone Magazine Flamin' Groovies announce a handful of dates this autumn to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their iconic Power Pop song (and album) 'Shake Some Action'. Originally formed in San Francisco by Cyril Jordan and Roy Loney in 1965, Flamin' Groovies released their first three seminal albums 'Supersnazz', 'Flamingo', and 'Teenage Head' before Roy Loney left the group in 1971. Chris Wilson replaced Loney and the band went on release their now classic albums betweern 1976-1979 - 'Shake Some Action', 'Flamin' Groovies Now' and 'Jumpin' In The Night'. In 1976, Flamin' Groovies headlined the Roundhouse in London with support from Ramones and The Stranglers. This legendary concert has been cited as one of the influences behind the punk rock scene. The 'Teenage Head' album is listed in the 2006 book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.

Every band has global ambition, but few lack the desire to move 7000 miles across the world to realise it. Summer 2022 saw Elephant Kind move from Indonesia to London to explore the next chapter as a band, starting a new era on the other side of the globe. "This is the dream of every Indonesian artist, probably most artists in the world, like everyone that we love moved to London at some point and writing here, it means a lot to us." says Bam Mastro, frontman and founder of the group.

Brudenell Presents... Released in God’s year of 2026, the 250th anniversary of the founding of America in Kurt Vile’s fine city of Philadelphia, Philadelphia’s been good to me finds one of our nation’s greatest songwriters staking a claim on his hometown. “This is my ‘bringing it all back home to Philly’ record,” Vile says. “I’m treating it like my last one. I put everything into it. It’s my best vocal record. It’s my best electric guitar record. It’s my most organic record, made in the comfort of my own zone.” Largely self-produced, with assists from Adam Langellotti, keys wiz Matthew Jugenheimer, drummer Kyle Spence, guitarist Jesse Trbovrich, and longtime Violators boardsman Rob Schnapf, the record embodies Vile’s understanding of music as a conversation between people across time and space. The title track is an ode to his hometown that doubles as an homage to Tom Petty’s homage to California. The barn-burning “Chance to Bleed” features guest spots from Memphis OGs Natalie Hoffman and Greg Cartwright but boasts a music video proudly shot at the Philly venue Kung Fu Necktime and features a cameo by local legend Schoolly D. “You Don’t Know Cuz It’s My Life” is Kurt’s take on a stadium anthem, building up to a laid-back yet triumphant chant of “I’m from Phil a-del-phiaaaaaaah!” that you can imagine a crowd of Eagles fans screaming along to, Twisted Teas pointed towards the heavens. Make no mistake: Philadelphia’s been good to me is the sound of Philly’s constant hitmaker coming back to kick ass, son the haters, and put on for the City of Brotherly Love — and in true Kurt Vile fashion, doing so while sounding more relaxed than ever. Between the 250th anniversary of America and its hosting of select World Cup games, 2026 is shaping up to be a big deal for Philadelphia. “And then there’s one other thing,” Vile says. “I gotta be that third thing. Because I am Philadelphia. I gotta own it. I gotta rise to the occasion.”

Action! Presents... GAEREA is nothing short of a beautiful enigma rooted in musical extremity and utter passion. In under a decade, the masked collective, born in the Portuguese town of Porto, has navigated countless darkened shades of metal to arrive at their fifth album and Century Media debut, Loss. “We’ve done what we’ve always done, which is follow our instincts,” says GAEREA’s anonymous vocalist. “Yet, something tells me, that on this new record, there’s elements that both our new and old fans will love, but it’s not exactly what they’ll expect us to do.” Loss is the sound of GAEREA continuing to define and redefine itself, incorporating elements of the band’s post-black metal past with the sharpened sonics and haunting melodies that coalesced spectacularly with 2024’s album, Coma. Recorded in early 2025 in Portugal with long-running collaborator Miguel Teroso at Demigod Recordings, Loss finds GAEREA emerging from creative chrysalis and bursting into something as engaging as it is unexpected. From the bombast that opens the record with “Luminary” to the album’s elegiac closer, “Stardust”, you can hear every member pushing their personal and creative limits. There’s singing. There are choruses as catchy and passionate as the best rock and metal songs. Yet, through the emotionally charged din, it’s unmistakably GAEREA. “We’re not about to apologize for simply being who we are,” says the band’s vocalist of the direction taken on GAEREA’s latest endeavor, their first with the same lineup and creative nucleus of members as the record before. “When this band started in my bedroom, it was my means of personal expression, without putting barriers in front of myself and that’s still the way I approach the music. You may not expect a dark pop song or singing everywhere, but there’s still blast beats everywhere and black metal sections here and there. We can’t be expected to be the same people we were when we started this band ten years ago.” Indeed, GAEREA has built its reputation on a blackened blueprint. Choosing a self-spawned name with no connection to any convenient metal tropes, GAEREA became a vehicle for its members to explore the frayed edges of the human condition without self- imposed limitations. “Up until Mirage (2022), it’s true, we wanted to be this super aggressive black metal band like Watain, or maybe one day be able to play with Behemoth,” says the frontman of GAEREA’s earliest utterances and albums like 2018’s Unsettling Whispers or 2020’s Limbo. “We love those bands, but we didn’t want to become the next Behemoth. We wanted to be the next GAEREA.” GAEREA is one of the rare bands where the boundaries between life and art not merely intertwine but forge a totality that you not only hear on record but one that also plays out in the band’s explosive live performance. Their combination of onstage rapture and sonic spirituality invites comparisons to kindred souls like Neurosis or Amen Ra. Swathed entirely in black with their distinct sigil occupying the space where their faces should be,there’s both a totality and anonymity that’s transcendent and binding when the fivesome takes stage; a distinct, hermetic code that connects all aspects of the band from the musical to the spiritual. “It’s not about the individual or seeing our faces,” says the vocalist. “I don’t want people to know me. I want people to connect with the music and the lyrics that I’m singing and apply that to their own lives.” GAEREA has christened their audience “The Vortex Society”, a collective consciousness that draws inspiration from the band’s unrestrained explorations into the human psyche. “[Loss] touches me on an individual level more than anything we’ve done before,” the vocalist admits. “It goes into the emotions that shaped me to become an artist. Most of the record deals with trapped memories in time.” The album’s jarring first single, “Submerged” is precisely that – the howl of a singular being submerged in an ocean of thoughts. ‘’Stardust’ is about losing a close friend as a teenager,” he admits. “This record has helped me cope with some of those thoughts, some of the things I buried throughout the years.” While GAEREA has long stood on the edges of darkness, their message has always had a sense of transcendence and positivity. While tracks like “Hellbound” or “Uncontrolled” are rooted in a jumble of confusion, guilt and self-admitted imposter syndrome, when the album arrives at its centerpiece moment, “Phoenix”, it’s a moment of pure ascendency. “There’s a line in ‘Hellbound’, where the lyric is, ‘I wear my sins as a second skin,’” says the frontman. “There’s something that corrodes you from the inside, that burns. This album is my attempt to escape that damage and rise above all the pain and confusion.” The distance GAEREA has come since emerging from Portugal’s microscopic metal underground proves what a force they have become. “In Portugal, it was only Moonspell, who we really had to look up to,” the frontman admits. “We’re lucky to have had their friendship and respect and maybe, one day, they’ll pass the torch to us! I think that’s where our sense of imposter syndrome comes come.”Past tours, supporting the likes of Gaahl’s Wyrd in Europe, Rotting Christ and Zeal & Ardor in North America and their most recent European tour as main support to Sweden’s Orbit Culture have shown their unique ability to bridge artistry and extremity. Vaunted festival appearances including Wacken, Inferno and Summer Breeze have become ritualistic triumphs for the band, performing their spiritual exorcisms in front of thousands of fans. Loss is the sound of the masked specters of GAEREA laying their souls bare. Musically and emotionally, they’re opening themselves up and bringing a decade’s worth of musical an personal soul-rending into sharper focus and becoming a genre-of-one in the process. “We’re not a black metal band anymore, if we ever were,” states the vocalist. “We always have been compared to hardcore bands and post-hardcore and shoegaze and post-thisand post-that. We’re slowly finding our way as a band but just as importantly, as people, but the DNA is always there. This is GAEREA.”

Brudenell Presents... "What I love about playing in these venues is the connection between me and the audience! We can really build the atmosphere and excitement to make it a great night for everyone!" Alan Nimmo Throughout the music industry King King is a name synonymous with, not only great music and outstanding musicianship, but with, and perhaps even more importantly, having a damn good time every time. When irrepressible leader Alan Nimmo walks out on stage wearing his now trademark kilt, fists in the air and a smile as wide and resplendent as Glasgow's River Clyde itself there is no doubt in anyone's mind that they are in for one of the best nights of their life - and that's before the music has even started! King King have never been a band content to simply ride the crest of their self made wave but instead have continued to work tirelessly to make that wave even bigger, stronger and ultimately better. Alan Nimmo is incapable of just sitting back when everything is going well and the accolades are flooding in. Absolutely not. He wants to take that level of excellence already achieved and turn it up a notch with every performance and every new release to try and become the best that he and his band can possibly be. And judging by public response he is most definitely succeeding. After 2 long years which saw the music business on its knees, King King have not only survived but have come back with a new line up and an extra edge that is the envy of many of their peers. The addition of Alan's brother Stevie on second guitar and vocals has added a breath of fresh air and a new dimension to the band. Something Alan had been looking for for quite some time. Added to the already stunning line up of Jonny Dyke (keys), and fellow Scots Andrew Scott (drums) and Zander Greenshields (bass), the mighty King King is sounding arguably the best it ever has. A string of sold out performances on their latest tours is testament to just that. Alan Nimmo has been in the music business for many years now - more than he can care to remember - but one thing has never changed. His desire to make honest, real music which comes from deep down within the soul. It may well have been high profile support slots with the likes of John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, Thunder and Europe which opened King King's music up to a much wider audience. But it was pure talent and hard work which got them there in the first place. The very same talent and hard work which has allowed them to continue on their ever widening path to success ever since. Many may feel a need to pigeon hole music, to give it a name and a place. Not King King. It's just music. Real music. And real music always has and always will stand the test of time. King King's music is the kind of music that makes people happy. And let's face it, especially in these all too dark and difficult times, who doesn't want to be happy? Not convinced? It's simple. Come along to a show and find out for yourself. 'The best band in the world' might be a bold statement to back up. But rest assured Alan and the guys will give it their best shot every single night.

Liam Bailey has announced the May 15, 2026 release of his new studio album Shadow Town, marking a new chapter for one of Britain’s most distinctive voices. The record sees the Nottingham-born, London-based singer reconnect with his roots as a songwriter, while drawing on the depth and range of a career that has quietly shaped British soul, reggae and electronic music for over two decades. I Shadow Town departs from that context to renew a writing partnership with producer Jimmy Hogarth that is more than a decade in the making. Hogarth - whose credits include Anohni, Sia, Maverick Sabre, The 1975 and James Blunt - recorded the album in his Hampstead home studio, capturing Bailey in a deliberately stripped-back and intuitive setting. The result is a record built around voice, lyric and atmosphere, with arrangements that allow space for subtle textures rather than overt genre markers. Guided by Hogarth’s broad riffs and rich textures, the intensity of Shadow Town wraps around Bailey’s patois- style. Whether it’s the twangy foot-stomper “Northern Lights” or the stripped-down R&B of “Gold,” the two find inventive ways to adapt the sound to Bailey’s third-generation Jamaican-English identity. It has Bailey reflecting on another British-born reggae singer in Maxi Priest, and how Priest found commercial success with a cover of Cat Steven’s “Wild World,” but Bailey feels that creatively the music industry “would never let him leave reggae.” “I want to come out of the soundclash, sit down with my acoustic guitar, do that, and then come back to the soundclash,” Bailey says. “Why not?

‘Rosalie Cunningham is a rock star … she exudes an effortless charisma and quiet confidence. The music she makes is meticulously but lovingly designed to blow minds.’ – METAL HAMMER Multi award-winning singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Rosalie Cunningham (ex Purson/Ipso Facto) released her Mercury Music Prize nominated, self titled début album in 2019 through Esoteric Antenna, earning a Top 10 placing in the UK’s official independent chart and attracting fantastic reviews and stellar ratings from Classic Rock, Uncut, Mojo and Kerrang. Rosalie built on her burgeoning reputation as an original and thought-provoking songwriter and musician with the release of her second solo album ‘Two Piece Puzzle’ (also through Esoteric Antenna) to universal acclaim in 2022. The Times – 4/5 ‘fantastic’; Powerplay – 10/10 ‘a heady mix … all infused with Rosalie’s unique ability to entertain and enthral the listener’; Shindig – 5/5 ‘sexy, loud and bursting with ideas’; Uncut – 8/10 ‘dazzling’. During 2022 and 2023, an extensive and punishing touring schedule taking in venues and festivals throughout the UK and Europe gave audiences the opportunity to experience Rosalie’s compelling, captivating and charismatic live performance at first hand. These, together with the acclamation afforded to ‘Two Piece Puzzle’, culminated in her being named Female Vocalist of the Year in January 2023 by the readers of PROG magazine. The amazing reaction to these exhilarating and dynamic live performances led to one of the more intimate shows on her September 2023 UK tour being recorded – ‘Live at Acapela’ was released as a CD by Machine Elf Records in December 2023. 2024 commenced with a hugely successful appearance at Fusion Festival in the UK, followed in April by a 17-date tour of Scandinavia and Europe taking in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, The Netherlands and Belgium. Rosalie returned to Sweden in June appearing at Muskelrock. When her hectic touring schedule has allowed, Rosalie has been working on her third solo studio album, ‘To Shoot Another Day’. This is scheduled for release in Autumn 2024, again through Esoteric Antenna. The vinyl version of the album will be available exclusively through www.rosaliecunningham.com. The first tracks released from ‘To Shoot Another Day’ were ‘Return of The Ellington’ and ‘Home’ – available as a limited edition 7” vinyl single exclusively through Rosalie’s website and digitally through Esoteric Antenna via all the usual streaming platforms. Rosalie will be appearing at the famed Rockpalast in Germany in October, to be followed in late November and throughout December by the most extensive tour she has yet undertaken as a solo artist. This will take in dates in France, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. ‘If Kate Bush and The Beatles had a baby it would be Rosalie Cunningham.’ – CLASSIC ROCK

Established in 2001 this band is the only tribute to have performed with two original founder members of Blondie, legendary drummer Clem Burke who is sadly no longer with us, and songwriter, bass player and prolific author Gary Valentine. BB had the honour to be thanked on Blondie's 11* album 'Pollinator' in 2017 and played the world famous CBGB in New York City 2006. In 2019, to celebrate 40 years since the release of Blondie's iconic album "Parallel Lines" Bootleg Blondie played two UK tours with Clem Burke under the band name CBBB (Clem Burke & Bootleg Blondie). Both tours were a whirlwind of sell out shows, radio, press interviews and fab reviews, driving nearly 5,000 miles and performing to over 7,000 people, also releasing an original single 'Enigma Soho Au Go Go' to coincide with the tours which is available through AppleMusic, Spotify, Deezer, and itunes. Clem Burke and Bootleg Blondie have written a rock 'n' roll opera about London with original music called 'Clem Burke's Big Smoke'. Tim Rice said 'It is instantly catchy and intriguing, the lyrics are fun and witty' Check out Clem's youtube L.A. interview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2lwj07Sd-MU Bootleg Blondie can be seen at all the major venues and festivals around the UK and Europe, having played the Isle of Wight Festival, the 100 Club, Shepherd's Bush Empire, the Hammersmith Palais, the Electric Ballroom London, Eric's Liverpool, Dingwall's London. Debbie Harris, lead vocalist of Bootleg Blondie, has the looks, the voice and the attitude of the original Blondie bombshell and like her heroine is typically outrageous on stage, wearing dustbin liners, thigh length boots and t.shirts with more holes than t.shirt! She appeared in The Mail On Sunday Magazine and performed on two TV shows for BBC1 picked out of 15,000 applicants to represent Debbie Harry on 'Even Better Than The Real Thing' hosted by Paddy McGuinness which attracted an audience of 10 million viewers! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8VzuJqMp5cQ

Standard Theatre Seated Few voices linger in the soul like Cara Dillon’s. A towering figure in Irish music, she has earned global acclaim and countless awards, including the Meteor Award for Best Irish Female and four BBC Folk Awards. For close to 30 years, she has occupied a singular space in folk music. Her voice—deceptively delicate yet emotionally devastating—evokes something timeless and elemental. Central to her remarkable career is her husband and collaborator, Sam Lakeman, whose role as composer, producer, and performer has been pivotal in shaping Dillon’s sound. Their intimate live shows feature acoustic sets drawn from her extensive discography. Classics like “Black Is the Colour” and “The Parting Glass” appear alongside new material from ‘Coming Home’, her landmark 2024 release, which seamlessly weaves spoken word and song in a profound meditation on identity and emotion. From her early days in Óige and De Dannan, through the major-label corridors of Warners and Rough Trade, her music has travelled far beyond folk’s usual borders and continues to defy boundaries—from chart-topping remixes, Disney soundtracks, to the hit TV series Derry Girls. As Mojo magazine once wrote, Dillon possesses “quite possibly the world’s most beautiful female voice.” With ‘Coming Home’, she affirms that legacy—not simply as a singer, but as a storyteller of rare emotional depth; her voice, as always, lingers long after the last note fades.

A true rock pedigree, delivering a snarlingly good set with plenty of bite since 2011, Dobermann have toured relentlessly, fiercely accruing over 900 shows in 15 countries and counting. Despite having no record label, no booking agency or management, the band formed by singer, bass player and firebreather Paul Del Bello, guitar shredder Valerio Ricciardi and powerhouse drummer Antonio Burzotta, has also kept up consistent studio activity, releasing 5 albums in a mere 12 years. Dobermann have also hit major festival stages at Rock the Ring, Pivo in Cvetje Lasko, Hard Rock Hell, Legends of Rock, Sinner Rock, Moped Marathon, Luppolo in Rock, Suoni di Marca and Cubelles Rock among the others, also supporting bands such as Skid Row, The Darkness, The Quireboys and Doro Pesch. Dobermann’s new album ‘Shaken to the core’, assembled by renowned producer Alessandro Del Vecchio, enhances their classic rock format, introducing new rythmic and melodic elements combined with the band’s trademark scratchy voice, explosive guitar solos, and thunderous drums. The band’s work with Del Vecchio has Dobermann sound more like themselves, pushing boundaries, capturing their live vibe and making the trio sound like no other band in the scene. Ripping through towns night after night, fuelled by relentless determination and a non-stop work ethic, the pirate ship known as Dobermann, is alive and well. *************************************** Line Up Paul Del Bello – bass & vocals Valerio ‘Mohicano’ Ricciardi – guitars Antonio Burzotta – drums

From the depths of the mid 80s LA Glam rock scene, a bunch of attitudev driven, misguided youth brought to the surface their brand of alley cat rock. Not glam, not punk but somewhere in between, with an attitude and swagger all their own. Fronted by the king of sleaze himself, Taime Downe, Faster Pussycat was his baby assembled piece by piece, that would, not unlike Frankenstein, rapidly grow into a monster and take the scene by storm, whether it was ready for it or not! Before they knew it, this rag-tag team of miscreants consisting of Taime Downe (vocals), Greg Steele (guitar), Brent Muscat (Guitar), Eric Stacy (Bass) and Mark Michals (Drums) scored a record deal with Elektra Records and released their debut self-titled album produced by Ric Browde (Poison, Ted Nugent, etc.) who was also instrumental in securing the deal in the first place. The debut record featured instant classics "Babylon", "Bathroom Wall", "Cathouse" and "Don't Change That Song" , the latter of which, birthed their first music video directed by none other than "Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!" director Russ Meyer! During this same time, the iconic documentary film, "Decline Of The Western Civilization 2: The Metal Years" was released and featured Taime and Riki Rachtman talking about their club the Cathouse and included Faster Pussycat performing "Cathouse" and "Bathroom Wall" live. The film, directed by Penelope Spheeris, was adissection of the Los Angeles heavy metal scene from 1986-1988. The film also featured interviews with members of W.A.S.P., Motorhead, Aerosmith, Ozzy and more!). It, like it's predecessor, went down in history as an iconic, cult hit. Never really fitting the mainstream mold, and always following underground sensibilities, if there's such a thing, Faster Pussycat found themselves in their early twenties and touring with artists like; Alice Cooper, Motley Crue, David Lee Roth, Motorhead, Whitesnake, Guns N' Roses, Kiss and Ozzy! Faster Pussycat would soon release their second album, 'Wake Me When It's Over"produced by John Jansen (Lou Reed, Cinderella & Jimi Hendrix) which garnered theirbiggest hit of their career, the reluctant and out of character ballad "House Of Pain"which reached #28 on the US Hot 100 and #23 on US Main Rock charts. The single also lead to a video direct by Hollywood titan, Michael Bay! Wake Me When It's Overspawned a host of other memorable tracks such as "Poison Ivy" and "Where There'sA Whip There's A Away" which saw them get more recognition and rotation on MTV. In between albums, and touring, Faster Pussycat was asked to contribute a track to the upcoming, limited edition release of "Rubáiyát: Elektra's 40th Anniversary", which featured current Elektra artists covering historic Elektra recordings. The compilation featured; Metallica, The Cure, The Sugarcubes, The Georgia Satellites, among others, and of course Faster Pussycat's recording of Carly Simon's "You're So Vain". The track was a sleeper hit, that saw a lot of attention and even spawned a killer music video directed by Rocky Schenck (Alice in Chains, The Cramps, Devo). With each album it was evident the band was adopting further darker imagery and themes, including Taime dying his platinum hair a midnight black. With the band all clad in black and leather they released their third album, "Whipped!" again produced by John Jansen. While darker in it's themes, Whipped! adopted a bit more of a streamlined, mainstream sound with it's signature hit "Nonstop to Nowhere" peaking at #35 on the US Main Rock chart and spawning a video also directed by Rocky Schenck. Another single off the album, "Body Thief" saw moderate traction with a video that would ultimately get banned from MTV. With all the attention Faster Pussycat was gaining, positive and negative, including appearances on talk-shows like The Sally Jesse Raphael Show (to which the track 'Cat Bash' refers) it appeared they were continually on the rise. But, ultimately, this would be the last album the band would record together with the current roster. After the Whipped! tour, Faster Pussycat disbanded... With music still coursing through his veins, Taime kept his music motor running and moved to Chicago to meet up with Martin Atkinson of Pigface (Ministry, AlJorgensen, Skinny Puppy) which ultimately lead into contribution to a new Pigfacerecord as well. Eventually, Taime moved back to LA where he formed industrial rockact, The Newlydeads. The Newlydeads was like Faster Pussycat's bitchy, insubordinate, no fucks left to give, bastard child. With moderate success in industrial and industrial rock scenes, the band featured Taime Downe (vocals, guitars & programming) and expanded with Kyle Kyle (Bass) and appearances by Tim Skold (Skold, Shotgun Messiah), VanChristie (KMFDM, Die Warzau) and Charles Levi (My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult). With his finger on the pulse of the scene, Taime then opened The Pretty Ugly club with longtime best friend, JD Terziu. Come Christmas '99, The Pretty Ugly club would have it's grand opening, which would ultimately set the stage for the first ever Newlydeads show. The Newlydeads were an instant hit with a loyal fanbase that continues to grow to this day. Time would see the band release 3 more albums. During The Newlydeads rise to fame, Taime was approached by Cleopatra Records to do a Faster Pussycat remix album featuring industrial remixes of original Faster Pussycat hits. The album titled "Between The Valley Of The Ultra Pussy" featured remixes of classic Pussycat tracks like; Bathroom Wall, Little Dove, Poison Ivy, House of Pain, Cathouse & more! It was the best of both worlds, having classic hits while flexing an industrial muscle not seen before. In 2001 someone threw out the idea to Taime about a new Faster Pussycat tour. With The Newlydeads running at full steam, after a bit of tweaking, Taime agreed and pulled together a relaunch and re-brand of Faster Pussycat with a darker vibe, harking to the Whipped! era, but stripping what was left of the glam look and replacing it with a more raw, spooky, dark-wave image.....which became painfully clear, was the true Taime Downe and the true core of Faster Pussycat. Taime, in his laboratory, assembled a new band for Faster Pussycat's live show, consisting of original members; Greg Steele and Brent Muscat and Newlydeads members, Chad Stewart, Danny Nordhal and Xristian Simon. Faster Pussycat was back with a new jaded attitude to tackle an exhausted industry. A full tour with LA Guns was launched in 2001, during which, Greg left the band due to personal reasons. A popular 2002 summer tour with Poison and Cinderella saw the band sporting a new all black look and new skull branding armbands. Faster Pussycat continued touring in the coming years. The next couple years would be some of the most exhilarating, raunchy, provocative and productive. Taime began to put together the pieces that would later become the first Faster Pussycat album in almost a decade. Consisting of late night sessions, sleepless recording binges, nights at the Pretty Ugly club and an atmosphere full of naked porn stars, drug fueled highs and boozeladen jam sessions, the journey to the new album was a wild one to say the least. In 2006, along with friend and bassist, Danny, Taime put together "The Power And The Glory Hole". The album, an instant classic, was riddled with appearances from Taime's friends such as; CC Deville (Poison), Dregen (Backyard Babies), Ed Mundell (Monster Magnet) & Mark Diamond (The Dwarves) to name a few, who just so happened to partake in the debaucherous jam sessions. "The Power And The Glory Hole" was released on Full Effect Records, owned and operated by Taime's good friend, Anthony Srock of industrial dance legends The Final Cut fame, whom he met in Detroit on the Pigface tour in '94. The album would spawn epic tracks such as "Number 1 With A Bullet", "Pornstar" & "Disintegrate" and also included covers of Betty Blowtorch's "Shut Up & Fuck" and Nancy Sinatra's "These Boots Were Made For Walkin'". Taime then closed the album with a song titled "Bye Bye Bianca", a tribute to his close friend, the late Bianca Butthole (BettyBlowtorch). This new music saw a now seasoned Faster Pussycat extremely comfortable in it's skin and scars and not holding back anything. In 2007, Faster Pussycat saw it's soft-more classic 'Bathroom Wall' selected to be included in Activision's phonemevideogame franchise, "Guitar Hero", specifically on the "Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks The 80s" release. Having toured nonstop since 2001, Taime decided it was time to release a live album and try to capture the raunchy, dark vibe from the shows. In 2009, again on FullEffect Records, Faster Pussycat released "Front Row For The Donkey Show", which was an expertly record and produced live album spanning Faster Pussycat's career from front to back and even spawning the single for "Bathroom Wall (Live)".In 2010, Faster Pussycat was rounded out with the addition of charismatic lead guitarist, Ace Von Johnson (U.S. Bombs, Unwritten Law, The Generators). Ace fit in immediately with the FP style. Now, no longer the "new guy", Ace continues to bring his talented guitar playing and utter lack of demure, to every Pussycat show! Today, Faster Pussycat continues to tour extensively all over the world. And when not touring, each member is busy with respective side projects. Taime is hard at work writing new material for the next Faster Pussycat album as well as penning his memoirs for a possible future book release.

The Punky Reggae Weekender does what it says on the tin - a full weekend of great music from across both subcultures. Punk and Reggae were thrown together by being mutual outcasts, two fingers against authority and a sense of an established order breaking down. Both were rebel music. In the DJ Booth at the Roxy Club, Don Letts played reggae and dub platters before punk records were available. John Peel on mainstream Radio 1 was as likely to follow records by The Clash & The Cortinas with records by Misty In Roots and Augustus Pablo. The NME and Sounds had their own reggae pages. And now you can relive all the excitement with our Punky Reggae Party! Its a perfect blend of rebel music over three days - pure unadulterated punk and reggae will be echoing around the North Devon Resort in Ilfracombe!
